Someone should know. Someone should remember. Fourth Wing page 271
What do you make of the attack on Violet in her dorm room? Tairn seemed to have warned Violet just in time. We are also introduced to Andarna’s ability as a feathertail. Do you think there will be any repercussions for Andarna using her ability?
Chapter Twenty is one of the moment intense chapters we have read in more ways than one. It is in this chapter that we see Dain try to abuse his power against, we see Xaden stand up for Violet without having demanded the same proof Dain wanted and we see a wingleader face justice. What do you make of this chapter? Did the events have you gasping out loud?
In comparison to Chapter Twenty, Chapter Twenty-One gives us a better insight into the relationship between Violet and Liam. We also learn a lot about the children of the rebels. Do you see Violet and Liam becoming good friends?
Violet and Liam also read a scroll about an attack on a town but later learn that this attack is not shared with the rest of the riders in Battle Brief. Why do you think Markham does not share this information? Is it because the scroll is marked as confidential or is there something happening in the background.

Chapter 19-21: Ooo I definitely feel that there is going to be some sort of repercussion, the fact that we haven’t heard of a signet like that shows how extremely rare it is and there has to be some sort of consequence.
Oh my holy moly, when Dain demanded Violet show her memories I wanted to jump into the book and take him out on the sparring mat myself!!! The audacity of this man, had me wanting to throw my book across the room.
I adore Liam, he has had such a rough childhood and I believe he is an incredibly sensitive yet protective character. I definitely see him and Violet building a great friendship through this journey.
I think there is a great deal happening in the background that the cadets don’t have knowledge too, either to protect them or to blindside them. We will just have to wait and see…

I was disappointed that Dain didn’t take her word for it. It must be infuriating for Violet, that Xaden believed her without demanding proof. But I think this was also good for violet as a sort of confirmation that her and Dain aren’t meant to be.
I think Liam and Violet will be great friends and I think getting insight into the true conditions of these “rebel children” will have significance later on.
There is definitely something happening in the background but I suspect we will find out what that is.

I think the attack was a great way for Yarros to show us how much of an integral role Tairn will play throughout the series. I also think this served as a way to show us uet again that Violet is able to survive and fight for herself. And yes, there will certainly be repercussions for Andarna using her abilities at such a young age.
I was just about ready to fight Dain myself for demanding Violet show her memories. The more I reread this book the more I realise how much I dislike Dain.
Yes. I absolutely adore Liam. He’s one of those characters that I just want to hug and support through everything! And that is all I shall say since this is a reread, and I don’t want to spoil anything for those who are reading it for the first time.
There’s definitely something happening in the background that very few have knowledge about. And as the series continues I think a lot of it will start to unravel.

• I didn’t expect the attack to happen at that moment. I was so excited when Andarna’s powers was shown. I think there might be a little repercussions.
• That chapter made me really not like Dain. In my head when he wanted to forcefully see her memories I was like “piss off” coz he annoyed me so much! Xaden is really winning my heart and he is definitely the better choice for Violet! The chapters are getting so intense and I love it.
• I actually like Liam a lot and he seems like a great character so I’m hoping nothing bad happens to him. I like that we get more insight into the rebel kids and what their life was like. I feel so bad for them. They didn’t deserve that. I think they will become good friends coz Liam seems really cool.
• There’s definitely something else going on and I wonder exactly what it is. I think they are experiencing a lot of attacks and are concerned and maybe they dont wanna alarm the riders further and create a panic when they themselves are concerned too.

The attack on Violet to me shows how people aren’t willing to let their prejudices go. They would rather break the law than change how they think. It definitely seems like with Andarna there will be repercussions we don’t know about yet.
Dain is just outing himself more and more as yet another person who see’s Violet as her disability and not as a person who can grow and be strong.
Liam is an extremely likeable character so they’re definitely going to become friends.
Since Violet specifically checked for a confidential mark and couldn’t find one, I think it’s more than that. This is the start of a bigger plot for this book

The attack on Violet in her dorm room goes to show that the others would go to extreme measures, even breaking the law, to remove someone. It was shocking since I didn’t expect them to act that way. Andarna’s ability shocked me the first time I read the book. Since it’s rare, I’m sure that there will be repercussions, that’s why Violet is hiding her ability.
Dain frustrates me so much and this was the nail in his metaphorical coffin. I think this is the final straw that made Violet decide their friendship is over. The events were so intense and I felt it brought Violet and Xaden closer.
Liam, I love him so much! I think he and Violet will become great friends. The insight to the children of the rebels were emotional and I think this will influence future actions.
I think the information wasn’t shared because they are trying to hide something and if the cadets or others found out, it might cause chaos.

I don’t think so. She saved Violet’s life.
Yes! Dain is so annoying! How can he STILL be against Violet?!
I thought she would be more annoyed. But I think that Liam’s cool so far.
I think Markham didn’t share because there is more to the attack. And sharing that information might lead to unwanted questions. It also makes you think – what else are they hiding?
