Things We Left Behind is the final book in the Knockemout series and my absolute favourite in the series. I don’t know why but I am always so intrigued by the mysterious, moody, misunderstood character but man oh man does Lucian deliver in this book. His overprotective and caring attitude towards Sloane over all these years is truly testament to the love he has for her. I think his childhood trauma played a significant role in the man he became but I think it takes an even stronger individual to seek help and the fact that he did that was just the cherry on top for me.
I also really enjoyed the subplot and how it wasn’t just focused on the romance aspect. The one twist really did have me gasping as I didn’t see it happening at all! And don’t even get me started on those epilogues which had me crying happy tears!!

“you remembered” she said softly
“I remember every second of us”
It’s been 3 days since I finished this book, and it is still consuming my thoughts.
I was so excited to finally read about Sloane and Lucian in their book, because the build up and banter from the first two books of the series had me wanting more. I was so eager to find out why they could not stand each other, and I was so happy to finally dig in.
This was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy.
This book had me swooning, and in a fit of laughter during the electric dinner, Waylay and Knox helped there, then there was a moment where I threw my book across my bed, where I had to read those few lines more than once, I had my theory but when it came to that scene I was SHOCKED to say the least. I even shed a few tears and wished I could dive into the book and hug the characters.
My heart broke for Lucian and what he had to deal with while growing up, but he is a better man because of his situation.
It’s a book I wish I could read for the first time again, characters felt like family and I am so happy they all got their happily ever after.
I wish I could say more in this review, but if I were to go on, I’d spoil everything in this book.

Wow, I can’t believe we finally got to Sloane and Lucian’s story. Their story has been teased right from book 1 so before go into TWLB knowing that there’s tension between the two and that something happened between them. So I really loved diving into the past to see what happened to these two that turned them into enemies.
The banter was on point and there was so much angst between the two. Lucian has been mysterious well connected and we can’t forget Sloane, our feisty librarian. Their story was worth the wait and once again, I loved seeing my favourite characters from the other books. And like the other books, we get another epilogue and once again, I’m always so grateful for them!
Now we’ve wrapped up the Knockemout series! TWLB was the third and final book in the series and I truly am sad that it’s over. I have no doubt that I’ll be rereading the series when I need something comforting to reread.

I need to preface this by saying that I did not enjoy the first book in this series so I was thoroughly surprised by how much I loved this one!
The characters were a whole lot more mature, the writing itself felt improved and the story was fun and angsty. I really fell in love with these characters and their lives and it made me wish for a novella at the end of the book.
My only complaint is the slightly cringe moments here and there, but I’m willing to overlook those as it was either a side effect of the side characters, or the side characters themselves having these moments. I also am not a fan of older characters but that one is really on me and not a reflection on my rating.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable book! It had some of my favorite tropes and a lot of elements that I love. And side note; the book series is being turned into a TV Show! So I guess it’s time for me to play catch up with the second book in the series!
