1. I think there is a certain level of trust and shared vulnerability between them. For their partnership to work, they needed that but feels like it might be misinterpreted to be something else.
2. Knew it was coming and saw it from miles away. He viewed Vasalie as a possession so its not at all surprising.
3. Absolutely! I feel like my imagination did not do it justice!
4. He’s definitely going to punish Vasalie and Copelan in some way or another. Or try to separate them which we see him do later on.
5. I think it was brewing for a while and bound to spill over at some point. I hope that it does spare him somewhat but after that performance, I doubt it.
6. He’s hurt and acting on those feelings. Whilst I think it is slightly petty, I also understand where he is coming from. His pride and ego were bruised.
7. It feels like he doesnt know about the connection between them just yet. Or maybe he is and wants to play his cards at the right moment.
8. He didn’t seem to feel threatened by Copelan in the slightest…which doesnt bode well for Copelan
9. I think he suspected that something about about to unfold, especially once he put the puzzle pieces together about Vasalie and Illian.
10. She’s always felt stripped bare when in Anton’s presence so I’m not surprised that tried to portray those feelings and thoughts in that moment. I think she understands that he is the one person who possibly could see past the shadows she is hiding in.
11. That entire scene was so hard to read. I felt that pinch of betrayal on Laurent’s behalf. I was hoping she wouldn’t do it and a part of me was angry for doing it. But fear can be a huge motivator so I also understand her actions. I suspect Laurent’s removal means less scrutiny over the proceedings.
12. His anger and actions were justified but he halted and listened to her. He saw her. And I think its a pivotal moment for them. Vasalie still has her reservations but I am confident that the rumors around the Glory court are a cover.
13. Depending on what Illian asks, this bargain may be broken at some point.
14. At this point, I feel like all the mentions of Morta allude to what the prophecy means but I havent fully connected the dots. I think Anton is on the right track but I can’t helo but feel like some key information missing that will change what it means.

17. The switch was so immediate. It made whatever he felt towards Vasalie seem fleeting and superficial. Not a fan at the moment!

I think that Vasalie wants Copelan the same way he wants her but she knows if she gets too involved with him he might get hurt. They are definitely much closer than we’ve seen them be in the last 19 chapters.
Illian has been in love with Vasalie all along. I think he thought she felt the same so even if he framed her she’s still come running back to him. He thought her feelings toward him would stay the same.
Definitely, but the way the author described the dance I could see it in a way. She has a great way of describing these dances.
He’s definitely going to want to hurt Copeland and obviously use Vasalie to do it.
The interaction was very tense, but I understand where Vasalie is coming from. She is trying to save his life because she knows what Illian is capable of.
I mean he didn’t really have a choice, but I do think he could’ve handled it better and less spiteful.
Apart from the fact that he cares about her, he did it because he still needs her. This scene also made me feel like he knows the General is her father.
I think he said this because he doesn’t see Copelan as a threat but also because he can get rid of him whenever he wants.
It might be because of that, because he was already suspicious of her. But also he knows his brother and might just want to protect Vasalie.
Vasalie trusts Anton and she also knows that he’s the only one with enough power to help her.
Illian is just evil! But I think he took Laurent out of the equation because he knows that that might be the only person Anton trusts. As much as I want to hate her for doing that I realise the girl doesn’t have a choice. I want her free from Illian just as much as she wants it.
Illian is becoming weirder by the chapter. That was honestly disgusting. and also, how do you treat someone you’re supposed to care about the way he treats Vasalie.
He definitely knew all along but wanted to see the good in Vasalie, because he too cares for her more than he would like to think. He was harsh but I think he needed to let the feeling of betrayal out. She might have seen it as harsh but I honestly think he feels betrayed because he wanted to believe that she’s not working for Illian.
Though I think Anton will try his best to keep Vasalie safe from Illian’s harm , I think there’s only so much he can do, especially with people in his palace also working for Illian that he probably doesn’t know about. And I think from now on Vasalie will be stuck between a rock and a hard place, because she barely trusts Anton but she most definitely fears Illian.
It might be true but some of it still sounded confusing. Yes Illian is planning this war but also Estienne is an absolute psycho and I don’t trust him. But right now he’s not playing a major role, but with how this story unfolds – you never know.
He definitely does. He was probably thinking about her after his situasion with her doppelganger.
Yes, as someone with a chronic illness like Vasalie there has been many things that I have given up over the years in fear of having an episode. But I think I fear the loss of my memory most as I’ve lost bits and pieces of my memory over the years after multiple seizures. I can lose a lot of things of which there would probably be a way to overcome it. But losing precious memories and forgetting what you felt in moments that might have been mundane to others but mean the most to you is my greatest fear.
Again, he didn’t have much of a choice but he could have still included Vasalie in the dance. So I would agree that he’s doing it to create distance.
Anton is an observer so he was probably right. But I’m always there for the banter between the two. In moments like these Vasalie reminds me of my self because I can get irritated so easily and people’s true intentions might go over my head.

4. Illian, after seeing them dance, is likely to plot something cruel. His manipulations come from a place of ego and vengeance. He may target Copelan now, or use Vasalie’s guilt as leverage.
5. Copelan’s visit to Vasalie is heart-wrenching. There’s longing, tension, and pain. Her rejection hurts both of them, but it’s rooted in survival. Sparing Copelan might be her only weapon right now but whether it will work depends on Illian’s whims.
6. Copelan being cold to Vasalie was understandable. He’s hurting, and Vasalie shut him out when he reached for her. It doesn’t make it right, but it does make it human.
7. Illian saving Vasalie from her father feels suspicious. He likely did it not out of kindness, but because he didn’t want her father to interfere in his plans. She’s his pawn, and he protects what he thinks he owns.
8. “You can keep your pup” is disturbingly possessive. Illian sees Copelan as weak and beneath him. Letting Vasalie keep him is like giving her a pet, an illusion of freedom under his rules.
9. Anton not acting like himself probably is because he saw Illian and Vasalie together. Whether it was jealousy, suspicion, or betrayal, he’s clearly shaken and trying to figure out how much he can still trust her.
10. Vasalie begging Anton to save her is a pivotal moment. She’s not asking as a spy or a manipulator, but as a person. It’s her most vulnerable plea yet, and it cracks Anton’s emotional armor.
11. Illian’s plan to destroy Laurent is brutal, but not surprising. Vasalie betraying Laurent and intentionally or not hurts, but it also shows how deeply she’s entangled in Illian’s web. She’s surviving, not scheming.

16. Illian bringing food is one of those moments where you almost wonder if he cares… but then you remember who he is. If he has any affection, it’s twisted and entwined with possession and obsession.
17. Vasalie’s fear of losing what she loves is painfully relatable. So many of us fear time, failure, or circumstance robbing us of our passions. It’s what makes her feel real, not just strong or smart.
18. Esmée’s arrival and Copelan giving Vasalie the night off feels calculated. He’s pulling away, maybe to protect himself or maybe to punish her. Either way, it hurts.
19. Anton saving Vasalie from Copelan and his comment carries weight. His insinuation was sharp, maybe even a little possessive. But more than anything, it shows that he sees her pain and is choosing to step in.

There’s definitely a deep level of trust (as required between dance partners) but I have the feeling Vasalie is to some extent “using” him to have a comforting presence in her life (for ONCE…), and Copelan is misinterpreting it and “using” her as a rebound…
It’s extremely predictable. He sees her as someone to control and not someone to “share” with others. I’m not surprised but I’m still creeped out.

It was something that was unfortunately just destined to also go wrong. You can tell that her rejection hurt them both and I hope they can find a mutually acceptable way of moving forward with their dancing.
I understand where Copelan was coming from, but her rejection was truly (what she thought was) in his best interest. He’s hurting though, so I respect his decisions.

I really dislike him thinking that he has absolute control over her – telling her who she can and cannot spend her time with. He really has no limits as to whag he will do to control what he views as “his”.
I think it might be, yeah. Either it’s his confirmation that they’re working together or he’s trying to intervene and stop Illian from getting to her. It might also be because of that performance though! Anton was clearly also showing an interest in her.
This scene confirms that Vasalie only saw Copelan as a means of superficial comfort since he’s the first person who was actually nice to her in years. Anton is who she’s attracted to and who she hopes sees her for who she is – on a deeper level than Copelan ever could.
IT WAS HEARTBREAKING. I had to put the book down when I saw that Vasalie was actually going to throw Laurent under. I’m so so sad for her and mad that Illian put her in that position.
He is super manipulative, controlling and downright evil. I hope he gets what he deserves in the end.
He’s not wrong! This was the push she needed to finally start digging herself out of the hole Illian put her in and I’m actually really happy it happened.
I hope he does. He’s the first to truly care for her, but on the other hand, there’s only so much he can do to go against Illian and not cause a political crisis. It’s a tough position to be in and I just hope Vasalie and Anton make it out ok.
The prophecy is very cryptic and I don’t really trust their interpretation to be 100% correct on the very first try. There’s still a long way to go and more information to uncover. I think this one might not relate to Illian, as they currently suspect it does.
I don’t think “care” is in any way the right word to use when it comes to Illian and Vasalie’s dynamic. I think it’s, again, that control aspect of “I will maintain what is mine”.
It’s a fear and a possibility that I try not to consider often.
Copelan’s actions are definitely pitting them against one another – and Esmée is probably really nice too. I don’t think this is Copelan being nice. This is Copelan being spiteful.
I really enjoy their dynamic – it’s a lot more natural and fun than the relationship that Vasalie has with Copelan. The fact that he stepped in is a big deal to me.

I think that Vasalie is so starved for real touch and affection; she openly admits that she finds comfort in him. She has an attachment to him and he’s her place of comfort for her. It may not mean a romantic kind of love for her just yet. She has trauma to deal with and healing to go through.
He still sees her as his property/jewel and belonging to him. I see him as someone who has the mindset “if I can’t have her then no one can”. He wants to own her and have her; and we see more of this later on.
I would have loved to see this in person – our imaginations don’t do it justice and I know my fellow readers feel the same because we mentioned it in the discussions!
He’s going to use Copeland to manipulate her. Copeland has just become another tool in his arsenal and a way for him to have something against Vasalie.
No, I don’t think Copeland will be spared. He’s already a target in some way and the dance solidified that. Vasalie is suffering from severe ptsd in my opinion and she’s so scared of no one being able to look past what she’s been accused of.
Copeland has the right to feel however he wants to, he’s hurt and he’s human. Him being cold is a way to protect himself too but I also feel there may be more to it because the “switch” seemed out of character…
It’s all about power when it comes to Illian. Whether he’s “saving” her or threatening her. I don’t think him saving her was a coincidence.
Part of me things that Illian is trying to deflect and show Vasalie that he doesn’t care; that Copelan is insignificant.. but another part of me knows that he has something up his sleeve when he said this to her.Anton doesn’t trust Illian and he knows that something is going on between Illian and Vasalie. Part of me also hopes it’s because Anton likes Vasalie. I’m on the Vasalie and Anton ship.
It made me hate Illian even more. I felt so sorry for Vasalie having to do that because we know that she didn’t want to. It was a no win situation for her.. but Laurent’s reaction is what was heartbreaking.
I wasn’t surprised by what Illian was doing – I’m just surprised that it took so long for Vasalie to see that truth, especially because she said she would have been willing at one point. It also makes me curious why he didn’t take Vasalie to his bed instead all those years before and currently.
Anton reacted appropriately, but he also gave her a chance to speak and explain. Him seeing what Illian was doing probably also helped.
Yes, I think Anton will stay true to his word but I think Vasalie will find it harder to stay true to hers depending on what illian wants her to do. I hope that she puts her trust in Anton as it feels he’s the only one who wants to help and who can help.One thing I’ve learned about prophecies is that they are never surface level even if they appear so. I think they’re close to what it may mean but they could be completely wrong.
I think that Illian thinks he cares in his own twisted way, but no. He needs her to fulfill his plans. He obviously lusts over her and has ownership after her. I find it hard that he’ll ever let her go. (but also, I read incorrectly and thought Copeland gave her the food).
I believe that we all live with some kind of fear. There are things I fear I’ll never get to experience or accomplish but that’s also a part of life.I don’t think it’s Copelan trying to create space. It’s his unresolved feelings for Esmee – he never ever got closure – and I also assume that he was forced into dancing with her. I would think that if anything, he’d want distance from Esmee to protect himself and his feelings.
Again, I’m on the Anton ship and I want to sail away on it. We all know what he was insinuating. -
I think she finally realized she was starting to have feelings for Copelan and felt comfort and safety with him.
Lilian’s jealousy comes from a very strange place. He could have had her all those years ago but only wants her when someone else is showing interest. Now that he sees she no longer shows interest or even likes him, he craves her attention even more. It’s more about having complete control over how than anything.
Definitely would have loved to have seen this dance in person, it always amazes me how people can tell such a story through dance.
Illian will find a way to drive a wedge between the two of them. I wish she gave in and told him the truth, but I understand her need to try and protect him as well as her own heart.
I believe he is feeling hurt and embarrassed and is trying to act like he can’t refuse.Possibly because he still needs her for his own crazy scheming.
Anton is definitely sceptical of Illian and Vasalie and all the coincidental happenings that seem to occur when she is around.I’m continuously horrified by his behaviour but also really disappointed that she continues to give in and harm others in the process.
I look forward to seeing Vasalie and Anton’s trust and relationship develop. I believe Anton is the good guy in this situation and is trying to save the people he cares about.
I’m so bad with prophecies but their explanation did sound very close to what the prophecy was implying.I think Illian deep down does care for Vasalie a little bit but I also think he’s doing it to make sure, he still controls her every move.
I mean bravo to Illian for bringing back Esme, it will make for some interesting reading. Hopefully Vasalie will soon decide who she truly wants, Copelan or Anton.

I love that Copelan makes Vasalie feel safe, and that if feels like the most natural thing in the world. For her to turk to him or seek him out when she’s in need of him.
Honestly, I don’t understand why it’s obvious that Illian is obsessed with Vas and yet has never laid a finger on her. It’s so strange.
I would have loved to have seen this dance especially for the elemental aspects of it, the desert lands and the storms! That would be awesome.
Anything is possible with King Illian, he is not one to let a deed go unpunished. Whatever it is, it’s not going to be good.
I think she wants to believe that it’ll spare him but in truth, I think it will only make them both miserable. Though I do understand why she is doing it and I agree that Copelan will probably end up hating her when he learns all her truths.
No, I think that was extremely spiteful and he did it just to to hurt her because he is hurting.
I’m starting to wonder if King Illian does know about her past. It’s entirely possible. As to why he would save her from a confrontation with her father? I am not sure.
It comes off as if he isn’t bothered and yet, he’s clenched fists after the dance proved otherwise. King Illian is a very layered man who I’m struggling to understand.
I think Anton is a very complex character but he is not a bad one. I think he is intelligent and observant and nothing escapes him. But I also think Anton likes Vasalie and is trying to figure out how to deal with that, he has always suspected she works for Illian but he did not expect her to be who she is.
I really wish Vasalie didn’t have to go through with betraying Laurent, it breaks my heart.
King Illian is a creep.
I’m starting to like Anton more and more, I think that he shows us who he is in these small moments. For instance, had he been horrid like his brothers, his reaction would have been completely different to what we got.
Of course I think Anton will be able to fulfill his promise.

King Illian is just confusing me at this point. That was a strange scene and maybe it was just to manipulate her some more, or maybe he really does care in his own twisted way.

I think that that was not cool at all, I understand that a crown wanted it but there was no hesitation on Copelan’s part. He dropped Vasalie quicker than a hot potato and I find that I do not like him anymore.

I think their relationship has progressed to the point where there’s a lot of trust between them. It felt like a confirmation of how close they’ve become.
I feel like Illian’s jealousy is more just anger that Copelan is touching Vasalie the way that he is. He views Vasalie as something to control, and as something solely belonging to him. So for someone else to dare encroach on that, it must’ve filled him with aot of rage.
Honestly yes. The descriptions of each of Vasalie’s signature dances have been so far, but I would’ve loved to be part of the audience for this dance. It sounded so emotive and if it were a dance I could’ve seen in person, I’m sure it would’ve been beautiful.
Probably something deadly like an assassination and a quick cover up/ explanation for his disappearance, or some form of torture. It’ll be a way to punish Copelan for touching Vasalie and a way to remind Vasalie of the danger she poses to others by getting attatched to them.
I was so giddy that the confession was finally happening, but at the end of their conversation, my heart broke for the both of them. I was really rooting for Vasalie and Copelan to get together, but Vasalie’s fears about what Illian will do to Copelan are so grounded in reality that it’s scary. I’m just sad she’s in a position where she can’t express to him that she likes him too, or where she can’t even explain the situation to him because it might put him in danger.
I think he was hurting after Vasalie’s rejection and wanted to hurt her so that she could feel a fraction of the pain that he does.
He didn’t do it to save her. Illian did it to make his presence known to the general and get him to leave so that he her alone and either threaten her into detaching from Copelan or to give her another task.
I was surprised by his words, but then immediately suspicious. Not only did it feel like Vasalie was let off the hook too easily for the emount of anger/ jealousy Illian displayed during the dance, but it made me wonder what his grand plan/ end goal of all this plotting and scheming is and how bad it must be for him to not be too concerned with the relationship between Vasalie and Copelan.
Definitely. I feel like it was the confirmation he needed that she’s working for Illian, because to his knowledge Vasalie and Illian should have no connection unless she’s secretly working for him.
I feel like she knows Anton’s mannerisms in front of anyone besides his close circle and guards are a facade, and she has figured out how observant he is. Knowing Laurent is one of his friends, she’s secretly hoping that Anton is observant enough to stop her and prevent her from what she’s about to do.
I did not see it coming at all. It was such a clever plan that made me hate Illian more for orchestrating the demise of such a kind and loyal character, just to make his brother look like a neglectful king with untrustworthy subjects. And I felt so bad for Vasalie for being forced into a position where she has to betray the person she’s come to care for because of the hold that Illian has on her and her freedom.
They were disturbing, but made a lot of sense. He’s shown himself to be obsessed with Vasalie and claiming her as his own, and there was that weird moment in his throne room in the earlier chapters where he was far too close to her (and that time when he almost touched her while she was sleeping).
Although he was right about her working for Illian, I think he went a little overboard with his assumptions. Then again, I can’t fault him for leading with anger instead of his usually rationality, since Vasalie betrayed both Laurent and Marian when all they or Anton had ever been to Vasalie was kind. I just wish he’d listened to her instead of throwing out those types of accusations.
I think he will. As a Crown, Anton has got power and influence than Vasalie does. He’ll be able to mobilise any people he needs to help gather the proof he needs to take his brother down. With her ability to gather information for him, and all of the resources at his disposal, their deal could definitely work.
Prophecies are tricky things. I do think the line about the jewel is about her, but I think the prophecy might be about Anton instead of Illian (a jewel in his hand: Vasalie willingly working with him; he’s one of the 3 sons/ brothers; he returned to the living when he was younger; those around him are unaware of who he is beneath his unserious reputation; etc.). So I think it can easily be about Anton the same way they’re thinking it’s about Illian.
No, he doesn’t. He left her food so that she can eat, and him telling her to eat that food is another way to control her body (by trying to control what goes inside it).
I have a history of Alzheimer’s in my family, so I’m scared that one day I’ll forget my ability to do the things that I love, or to remember how to do them. I also have a history of diabetes, so I’m scared for the fate of my poor sweet tooth and the desserts I might not be able to enjoy in future.
Esmee arriving is both a blessing and a curse. It’s cruel because the guy Vasalie was starting to trust and care for is clearly in love with someone else, and has a history of great chemistry with during his dances, so seeing that will be painful for her. She’s already being cast aside as an afterthought in favour of Copelan dancing with Esmee. On the other hand, some distance between them means Vasalie no longer has to worry about what Illian will do to Copelan anymore (because the romantic element of their relationship will no doubt fade with Esmee in the picture).
This man is a master flirt🤭 but I think he may just be what Vasalie needs. Anton could be right: maybe she just needs someone who isn’t so serious all the time, and who she could feel less weighed down by her interactions with.

There are certainly some feelings between them, hence the comfort she feels with him and he brings.
Illian is a total brat! He keeps pushing,pulling & manipulating her. She isn’t HIS. He has no right to her after everything he has done but of course he’d be jealous coz she was once his jewel. I just hate that he has the audacity to after everything he has done.
Yes! All of their dances to be honest as it’s described so intensely and beautifully. I love art/dance and the way Vasalie so creatively incorporates other elements into it would certainly be a visual treat.
Illian is moody and dangerous, jealousy will surely drive his emotions further and perhaps do something to Copelan. Hoping nothing happens to him tho.
Those 2 certainly have that sizzling tension & chemistry between them while I do love Anton and want her to be with him. I think a fling with Copelan could be fun for her and ofc for the plot teehee. I wanted her to act on her feelings the way Copelan bravely did. He was vulnerable with her but her rejection hurt him. I understand Vasalie being scared of King Illian though since he is rather ruthless and edgy.
I wouldn’t call that being cold in simple terms, he was doing what was asked of him and he did get rejected so spending some time apart from Vasalie to clear his head would be needed and the opportunity was presented.
I think he knows that’s her father, before I didn’t think he did but now I do. I dont know if he knows all the details but he knows something.

Yes, Anton is hurt to have his suspicions confirmed regarding Vasalie. I know he hoped to have being wrong about her since he did like her and out of all people she’s being controlled by his shitty brother.

I hated that he forced Vasalie to betray a friend like that! To betray sweet Laurent. I kinda wished Vasalie resisted more and maybe told Anton sooner.

No surprise, Anton is smart and he did tell Vasalie about his inkling of doubts regarding her plus he also said he’d keep an eye on her. I feel bad for Anton though, the betrayal surely must have hurt him.
Anton will protect her, he seems like a man of his word. As for Vasalie, Illian will surely make it difficult for her. I just hope she gets to work with Anton truthfully and in return he helps her too.

Their relationship is based off of lust rather than truly caring for each other as vaselie has been through a lot with no real comfort from another human so when Copelan shows interest in her she revels in it as it makes her feel somewhat safe.
His jealousy tells us that he has some sick and twisted feelings for Vasalie, or rather not feelings but this sense of ownership of her.
Their dance was truly so beautiful and raw. So, yes! I would have loved to see it in person.
Illian has a set plan already so i dont think him seeing copelan and vas together will deter him from his plan.
Perhaps but from what we have seen Illian is ruthless and does whatever he pleases to get get what he wants. So if he sees Copelan as a threat, he may have some trick or the other up his hand.
So far its been unknown what Illian wants to do exactly but this part made me realise that he probably knows that this is Vasalies father and they may be working together.
Illian calling Copelan Vasalies pup is so funny because i would think he holds Vasalie in the same regard. Him saying this proves to us again that he doesnt like that Vasalie, his plaything, is close to someone else.I have a feeling Anton being off sometimes has to do with the Fate of Morta. So I don’t think him being off has anything to do with seeing Vasalie and Copelan. I believe all that Vasalie wants is for someone to come in and save her from all the terrible things that has happened to her and I think deep down she does believe Anton is good at heart.
Illian taking Laurent down wasn’t something I saw coming and for Vasalie to throw him under the bus was also a shock but makes sense as Illian has been setting her tasks. Illians actions are quite honestly insane and I’m curious to know what his end goal is.
I understand why Anton would think that Vasalie is working for Illian especially when she threw Laurent under the bus amongst the previous things she has done. And Anton is an observer who knows his brother well.
It’s hard to say as there’s been a lot of lies and deceit going on from the very beginning and I’d love to see the hero, Vasalie, win as she’s been through a lot so I hope her working with Anton helps them both succeed in achieving their goals.
Yes! I also do think Anton knows the actual outcome of the prophecy but doesn’t want to reveal anything and rightfully so.
Illian does not like her beyond lust. His actions don’t scream of someone who is in love.
I do have similar feelings to Vasalie and im sure we all do. But I think the universe has its plans for us and we have to just trust it and believe whatever is meant for us will never pass us.
Copelan obviously has feelings for Esme that hasn’t fizzled out and I think he was somewhat mesmerised by Vasalie. I don’t think he is directly trying to keep a distance but maybe he was told by someone to leave Vasalie out.
Anton is such a smooth talker but he does also seem to know things. The back and forth between vas and Anton is so good and I love that he always tries to rile her up.

I feel that Vasalie is growing closer to Copelan, and she’s finally trusting him. Especially from Vasalie, who is guarded all the time, a confession like this means a lot.
Illian’s jealousy is poison. His entire character is poison, and I feel that he corrupts everything where he goes.
That dance between Vasalie and Copelan! How I wish to have seen that in person. It seems so emotional, intense and beautiful.
Illian’s wrath is now awakened, and if he wasn’t angry before, after this dance I think he is seething. Who knows what kind of punishment he’ll have in store for her.
When Copelan came to Vasalie’s room, and she denied him, I think she did that to spare him. Knowing that Illian will harm Copelan, she actually saved him from pain.
Copelan reacted in anger after Vasalie denied him, but it was rude to assist Princess Aesir.
I think Illian arrived at the right moment, only because he was worried that his plans might be spoiled if Vasalie and her father spoke.
When Illian refers to Copelan as her pup, I knew something was going to happen. And using the word pup is so degrading.
At this point, I’m feeling more comfortable with Vasalie being with Anton than anyone else. He seems to care for her.
This was such a stressful scene and I never saw it coming! Vasalie betraying Laurent had my jaw dropping.
Anton might be jealous and also worried, knowing that seeing Illian and Vasalie together means there’s a problem.
Illian’s actions just go from bad to worse.
The way Anton is right, but doesn’t know the full story. Vasalie is more like his prisoner than his co-conspirator.
I feel that Anton offering Vasalie a deal is a way for him to be in the loop of what happens, and I really hope he keeps his word to help her. Depending on the situation, Vasalie might not keep to her side of the deal.
That prophecy! I feel that they are on the right track with the deciphering.
There is no way that Illian can care about anything or anyone but himself. The food is just to sway her and make her believe he cares.
I have experienced a lot of loss in my life, mainly losing both my parents before I was 30, so my fear is of time running out quicker than expected. While it’s different to Vasalie’s fear, which is connected to her dancing and physical being, mine comes from a different place.
This scene upset me because I feel he dismissed Vasalie, but it could be that he tried to create a distance.
Anton is way more observant than I expected and actually had a sigh of relief knowing she has someone in her corner.
