A Language of Dragons Day Four

At the start of Chapter Eleven, we learn that Ralph lied and said Viv was trying to run away. Do you think the truth will come out knowing that there were three witnesses?

We also learn that Atlas beat up Ralph and is now in isolation. What do you think will happen to him?

We further see the difference between First Class and the other two classes when the nurse has access to Fireblud and Sereana confirms that the First Class essentially has full access to the medicine. What other “illegal” substances do you think the First Class have access to? Do you think they have access to other materials and information that will continue to set them apart from the other classes?

Do you think the dragons also have their own form of class system?

During Chapter 10, Viv learnt that her sister might have died in an attack. In Chapter Eleven, Dr. Seymour helped Viv get communication that her sister is alive. Do you think this will allow Dr. Seymour to be more open with Viv?

We learn what the dragons call their form of echolocation, Koinamens, and Viv witness something unexpected. Do you think there is more to the Koinamens?

Do you think Viv is communicating to Atlas through letters? Or could it be someone else?

We learn through journal entries that Dr Seymour was sent to the hatchling grounds, and it was here that she began to suspect the use of echolocation. Do you think Dr Seymour is keeping back information?

    1. I don’t think so but even if it does, I do not believe there will be any consequences for Ralph anyway.

    2. I think that he will be tortured to some degree in isolation but I do believe he will be let out again.

    3. I am unsure because we haven’t really been exposed to any other possibilities. However, maybe some more things related to dragons or made from dragons could be a possibility. I do think that this along with the information they have access to will continue to set them apart. Unless someone from the 1st class decides to become a part of the revolution and share those resources with the rest of society.

    4. I don’t think in the same way as the humans do. I feel like they would have arrangements like Elders/The Wise Ones and then obviously the youngsters at the bottom. But I do not believe it would be economically or regionally motivated classism.

    5. I do think so. I think she will find an allie in Dr Seymour.

    6. For sure. I think it is a lot more complex and feel like Viv is only scratching the surface of this.

    7. I think she is at the moment, but I feel like it is risky and that someone at some point will intervene and start interfering.

    8. I definitely do. I think there is more to her character. I also suspect she may not even be on the government’s side.

Probably not as Ralph is protected because he is Wyvernmire’s nephew.

They will probably beat Atlas up a few times to teach him a lesson in discipline. After a few days they will release him.

The firsf class probably have access to anything and everything (both legal and illegal). Whatever they want, they can get.

No I don’t think the dragons segregate themselves into a class system like the humans. They might have a hierarchy in terms of ages such as the elders will carry more clout than a youngling, but at the end of the day they are all of the same class.

Yes I do, especially since Viv knows about Dr Seymours dracavol.

There is definitely more to Koinamens that we don’t know about yet.

I think there is a playful flirtatious vibe in these letters between Atlas and Viv that they are passing to eachother via the books. This could be a method for them to share information, I just hope they don’t get caught or that a letter falls into the wrong hands.

Yes I do. She’s not sharing 100% everything she currently knows (not yet anyway).

    1. No – the three witnesses are simply recruits. They will be ignored, as Viv was and told that they were lying.
    2. I think he’ll possibly be demoted to second class and possibly be stripped of his opportunity to become a priest. If not, he will be kept until another mistake on his part, after which he will be sent home.
    3. Perhaps they have access to things like drugs and alcohol, as well, as it has not been mentioned in the story so far. They could also have access to books that are illegal to the other classes, or which have been banned in general. Yes, I do. They are completely set apart from the other classes.
    4. No, the dragons seem to all get along, depending on their region and language abilities.
    5. It might, although Dr Seymour doesn’t want to discuss anything with Viv. She’s also worried of getting caught, so this might play a part in their relationship.
    6. Yes, I do. I think she is correct – it is an instinct, used to protect, to guide, to nurture and grow, as well as communicate.
    7. This I am not sure of. I haven’t considered that it could be someone else she’s talking to. I suppose that it’s possible that someone is setting her up. If they are, though, they know Atlas very well or it’s one of their friends who have been observing them, because they speak like he would.
    8. Yes, I think she is keeping information to herself.

    1. I don’t think it would matter if the truth comes out because of Ralph’s relation with the prime minister.

    2. I think they might send him back.

    3. Definitely, I think they have access to everything that are considered illegal in there other classes.

    4. No, I think they just have the Dragon Queen who makes the rules for the rest of the Dragons like a president.

    5. Yes, I think she will tell Viv things that she can’t share with other recruits.

    6. Based on the reactions of the two Dragons that Viv questioned. There’s definitely more to it, the dragons made it sound like it’s sacred.

    7. It’s definitely Atlas no one would risk getting in trouble.

    8. Yes, she knows something more but maybe she doesn’t trust the recruits, to share the information with them

    1. I had a hunch that ATlas would be involved; for now, even though there are witnesses, I don’t think anyone will believe Viv about Ralph. It makes me so happy that Sophie has warmed up to Viv.
    2. After isolation, I think ATlas will be back.
    3. There are definitely more legal and illegal products that first class have access to, something that dragos use or produce, not just healthcare; I’m thinking some luxury as well.
    4. I would assume they have similar class systems, just like Viv didn’t know that dragons only worked as a form of punishment.
    5. Dr. Seymour’s kindness really shocked me here, and I’m hopeful she will be more open with Viv.
    6. Atlas finding Viv in the fields is suspicious, and their relationship is starting to get serious and intimate, which might hurt her chances.
    7. Viv communicating with the Dragons was too risky.
    8. I understand why she isnt revealing everything about herself because of her role but I hope its nothing drastic

    1. I hope so, but I don’t think it will make any difference.
    2. Nothing good. He seems to be taking a beating every time he engages with Ralph.
    3. They probably have access to a lot that the other classes don’t. The more we read, the more you can see the privileges they have – this mirrors modern society so much.
    4. I don’t think so. They only seem to segregate themselves by breed and location.
    5. I think she is still rather reluctant to be 100% open and honest with her. But it might have been a way for Viv to be more open with her.
    6. Yes, way more.
    7. No, I think its Atlas all the way.
    8. 100% yes, there is a lot more that she isn’t sharing.

As we know Ralph is Wyvernmire’s nephew and that the witnesses were three recruits I don’t think the truth will come out.

I think Atlas will be isolation for quite some time and then maybe get chores to do as well but he will be let out of isolation.

I think the First Class have access to all sorts of medicines that are able to cure diseases and they possibly even have substances that could be used to erase memories, heal etc. The first class probably also has other materials such as books that are not shared with the other classes that contain a lot of ‘forbidden’ info.

I think the dragons do have their own form of class system, just not to the harsh extent of the humans. I think the dragons have elders which are more respected and then they possibly are grouped based on their different skills.

I do think Dr. Seymour helping Viv get communication that her sister is alive will definitely cause her to be more open, as Dr. Seymour expressed sympathy she might start expressing more to Viv than other recruits.

I think there is more to Koinamens that what we have learned so far, because why else would the dragons keep it so secretive.

I think it is Viv and Atlas communicating through letters, but these letter later on could be discovered by someone and used against them.

I think Dr Seymour is keeping information but I definitely think there is a reason we don’t know yet as too why she hasn’t shared everything but it feels like it must be for a good reason.

No, I dont think so. Ralph knows that he can get away with doing terrible dirty deeds which explains why he broke Vivs arm in the first place.

Nothing will happen to Atlas. Theres something super suspicious about him that I cant quite put my finger on.

The First Class definitely has a lot of materials and information that benefit them. Which makes sense as to why they have a class system in the first place and why President Wyvernmire is so hell bent on taking the rebels down and pushing for the class system and peace agreement. The President falls under the First Class and directly benefits from these things.

The Dragons probably do but not the extent that the humans have it.

I dont think it will directly allow Dr Seymour to be open with Viv but rather allow Viv to put Dr Seymour underpressure to be more open even if it may do more harm. Dr Seymour obviously wants to do good but without getting caught.

I think the Koinamans is so much bigger than what they are all anticipating it to be and that their current focus on it just being a language is just the tip of the iceberg.

It must be Atlas as he did previously mention that she should go back to the library to go through the books. Which means he is the one leaving the notes and communicating with Viv.

I believe Dr Seymour is holding vital information back purely because she knows that echolocation is so much more than just a language.

    1. Possibly, because I feel like Ralph and his aunt don’t have the best relationships.
    2. Nothing, I think it was just meant as a warning.
    3. I think they have access to a lot more things than we know. They also may be the only ones knowing that Wyvenmire is planning something big.
    4. It could be possible, but I don’t think its as strict as the one we see with the humans.
    5. Yes.
    6. Oh most definitely.
    7. I think it’s Atlas, but now I might have my doubts.
    8. I think the Dr has a lot of secrets she is trying to keep in the dark.

    1) Even though there are witnesses, I don’t think anyone will believe them over the prime ministers nephew.

2)I think they will torture him as a lesson and them let him go.

    3) I think they have access to anything that they want or need. Making them superior to the other classes

    4) No I don’t think the dragons have a system like the humans. They could have a hierarchy to keep everyone in check.

    5) yes I think she’ll slowly learn to trust Viv and confide in her about things no one else can know that she knows.

    6) based on the questions she asked the dragons, it does seem like there’s more to it .

    7) yes, the letters seem legimate but they might get caught out if they’re not careful.

    8) yes she definitely knows more than what she’s letting on but doesn’t trust anyone to share it yet.
