What do you think our main character Viv did to Sophie? Is her action against Sophie really so unforgiveable?
It is clear that this version of the world, filled with dragons and humans is still plagued by forms of separation. Women don’t really attend university and there is all a separation between different classes. What do you think makes a person a third class?
At the end of the first chapter, the only adults in Viv’s life that she cares for are arrested for civil disobedience. Do you think they will be found guilty? Knowing as little as we do, what do you think they are striving for if they are guilty?
Do you think Viv made a brash decision? She not only freed a dragon, but she also set fire to the Prime Ministers offices. Will this do more harm to her parents’ case?

Oh my word where to begin… The first 3 chapters are packed with riddles I can’t wait to decipher.
1. I personally think that Viv somehow swapped her Examination results with Sophie’s.
2. I think 3rd class citizens are those who either did not finish school or has no tertiary degree.
3. I think the adults in Viv’s life has proof of a corrupt government and their arrest is a smoke screen to prevent the masses from finding out.
4. Viv going to a “criminal dragon” to help clear her family seems like a good idea, especially if she subconsciously believes that the government is corrupt.
5. I think that Chumana will save Viv from being arrested. -
1. The first thing I thought she might have done was expose Sophie in a way that resulted in her being taken away. Viv mentions she is the reason for Sophie not coming back, so there is a possibility she might have accidentally snitched that Sophie visisted her parents. But I also think she is blaming herself for something she didn’t fully do. She might have had a hand in it, but I don’t think she is completely guilty.
2. Smarts seems to be the main driver of the class separation. If you don’t understand the complexity of some subjects, it means you won’t be able to help the economy thrive.
3. Viv’s parents and uncle seem to be part of the resistance, so I think they are guilty, but I think they are trying to make the world better. I liked how Viv’s dad told her that the PM should fear their people, not the other way around. It’s like the PM has some form of dictatorship over the people, and some residents are sick of it.
4. She definitely made a brash decision, and it could affect how her parents’ plead their case, but I also believe her parents knew what they were doing, and with or without her help, they would not sit idly by and do nothing.
5. Yes, I think she’ll come back for Viv though.

What a start! So much has happened already but I am so hooked and desperately want to find out what happens.
1) I don’t think Viv did anything malicious to Sophie but rather feels guilty and blames herself for passing her exams and retaining her spot as a second class whereas Sophie failed and go demoted. So essentially Viv blames herself for this and deems it unforgivable.
2) Most likely those who don’t have an education or who aren’t wealthy automatically makes a person third class
3) I do think they will be found guilty but Viv will do everything in her power to not have them killed. They’re perhaps striving for independence, freedom and a prime minister/president that doesn’t have a dictatorship mentality.
4) Oh definitely more harm but I applaud her for thinking about something so ridiculous in such a short amount of time considering she was always taught to abide by the rules.
5) I think Chumana will either get caught by the Guardians and then questions or she will be killed which will cause even more uproar.

I think Viv deliberately sabotaged Sophie’s examination. She could have swopped their scripts or somehow swopped their results. We know that Sophie was very studious so it was unlikely that she could fail…
Viv’s actions were extremely unethical at the cost of sacrificing her best friend.Third class citizens are probably those who did not go to school, or did not successfully finish school and therefore have the lowest level of education.
There is definitely something bigger at play here. The government seem like they are all corrupt dictators. On the surface it seems as if Viv’s parents are rebels, however I have a feeling there is much more to the cause than meets the eye at the moment…
A brash decision it may be, but I loved it! It took guts for her to approach Chumana, let alone be responsible for the dragon burning 10 Downing.
I love her tenacity and how she will stop at nothing to protect her family.
With how chapter 3 ended, I’m scared to read on and find out what the consequences are of Viv’s actions.I have a feeling Chumana didn’t just burn the government office and then flee. I think she will stay and rescue Viv.

1. I believe Vivian stole or somehow switched Sophies exam with hers because she felt as if she has a lot on the line, a lot to lose if she failed. Shes filled with guilt knowing she is responsible for Sophie being moved to the dreadful Third class.
2. Im going to assume being illiterate or uneducated will result in moving to Third class (Sophies case), these people can be seen as inferior. Also, being liberal and rebelling in this world.
3. I do think her parents are guilty; it could be for breaking the peace agreement.
4. I understand Viv’s decision, not the smartest, but this isn’t going to look good in the eyes of a judge (guidains).
5. I think Chumana is now free but might be a part of the main charaters (we will hear more from her)

1. I think she stole her Exams, so yeah that’s pretty unforgivable considering Sophie was demoted because of whatever Viv did.
2. I think it’s something deemed not fit for a higher education and someone with limited access to resources, opportunities and privileges
3. I don’t think they will be found Guilty considering they made sure Viv focused on her academics all her life and always told her to stay away from trouble. I think they know some government top secret that the government doesn’t want to come out. I think they’re being used as scapegoats.
4. I mean looking at it now it does look like a haste decision but she did what she had to, to help free her family.
5. Yes, she’s a dragon so the odds of her surving are a bit higher for me. -
Wow! Those first three chapters really started with a bang! I can’t wait to see what comes next.
1. I’m 90% sure that Viv found a way to switch examination papers with Sophie, or she cheated in some way that got Sophie downgraded to third class. Whether it’s unforgiveable is a coin flip – on one side, one could say that it is morally wrong and that she betrayed her best friend, which doesn’t reflect well on her character; on the other, I understand the decision. She’s been pressured her whole life into being good enough to stay second class or improve. Viv has been through hell and when people become desperate, they make bad decisions. (Plus, she’s only a teenager – they make bad decisions all the time!)
2. From what I can gather, someone is third class when they don’t pass their examinations and when they’re very poor, it would seem. This is also the class that does not benefit at all from the Peace Treaty.
3. I think that her parents and uncle will be found guilty – I think that they’re striving for actual equal rights for dragons and people and to keep another war from breaking out.
4. She definitely made a brash decision, but honestly I would have done the same. It is quite possible that this will do more harm than good to her parents’ case, as she’s been caught and will probably be considered as an accessory.
5. I think she did – she was above the clouds and she didn’t really make herself known. Perhaps she managed to fly off somewhere safe. -
1. Viv did something to sabotaged Sophie’s exam results and she took Sophie’s place undeservedly.
2. Wealth and academic achievement is what I think determines class, the more academic inclined you are, the higher your class will be.
3. I think they’re against the current ruling government and the Prime Minister, and they’re part of resistance group and mostly likely guilty of what they’re being accused of, this is based on how Viv’s dad reacted on that day and her mom telling her to flee London.
4. As much as she might get her mission accomplished, which remains to be seen, by freeing Chumana I think more harm will be done and have might have to face heavy consequences.
5. She most certainly did but I still think we will see her again and mostly likely for the defense of Viv, I think they might have created a bond between them.

I think Viv swapped her and Sophie’s papers.
Lack of education or money. It is clear that the second class is all middle-class people, thus third class is the impoverished. In this world education is what brings you up a rake therefore the uneducated are the lowest class. Which is unfair in and of itself as money brings education and education brings money.
I think they gonna be unalived, ngl.

1. Honestly, with how Viv is reacting to the situation and the guilt she is carrying, it definitely indicates that she did something to sabotage Sophie’s chance of passing the exam. Perhaps there were only a limited amount of spots available to pass and it was mark based? I think that we need some more insight before we can make more educated guesses but I definitely think that she sabotaged her exam, maybe even swopped their letters and it was actually Viv that failed.
2. I think obviously you can be demoted to third class as a form of punishment but I believe that the way in which someone behaves and conducts themselves socially and politically plays a big roll in this as well. Perhaps the skill sets you have/education you receive play a role too and whether or not you can contribute to the country.
3. I think no matter what happens, whether they are guilty or not, they will be punished as seen fit. I do not think the society they live in is gracious when it comes to accepting they have made an error so yes, I do believe they will be found guilty. I think that like many of the other rebels, they are striving for equality in society.
4. While I do believe it is a brash decision, I do believe that she was acting out of desperation in order to help her family. I do think that it will make things even worse for her parents and for herself as now she is seen as a criminal as well. Setting a criminal dragon free is also very dangerous as we do not know what crimes she has committed and this itself can create a further set of problems too.
5. Yes I do believe she has. I do also feel like she will feature later down the line as well, possibly in a moment where Viv is in danger, to help her.

The first three chapters of this book really pull you in with adventure and tragedy. Excited to see where this story goes.
I think our main character Viv, sabotaged Sophie’s examination such as making it look like she was cheating or that she snitched on Sophie. I think what Viv did is probably not entirely unforgivable I just think that Viv harbours a lot of guilt about it and probably feels she doesn’t deserve to be forgiven.
There is definitely a separation between classes and I think that makes a person fall into third class is their lack of wealth and lack of education, such as being illiterate or not completing certain levels of education.
Viv’s parents and uncle are definitely guilty (but maybe guilty for the right reasons), they seem to be part of the rebellion in fighting for an equal society.
Viv’s decision was one that wasn’t well thought out in terms of execution of the plan and she did not think about the consequences that would come with her decision. I don’t think this is going to help her parents case at all, I mean what do you say when the people you have in custody for disobedience now has a daughter who does this?
I think Chumana was able to free herself, I mean she sounds like a badass dragon, but I do think we may see more of Chumana further into the story.

2. A lack of education, familial lineage, or wealth.
3. I think they could possibly be guilty of being sympathizers. Viv’s fathers parting statement says it all: “ People shouldn’t fear their prime minsters, Vivien. Prime minster should fear their people.”
4. Its going to hurt her parents and herself. She has freed a criminal dragon and she got caught.
5. I can only hope so. -
1. I think that Viv had something to do with why Sophie did so badly on her exam.
2. Third Class seems like they are the poorest people and the ones who aren’t smart enough or educated enough to have an impact on the progression of the country.
3. I think they would be found guilty because they are striving for peace or the truth. I feel like there’s a secret that they discovered and the government doesn’t want them to expose it .
4. Yes, I think she did just make the situation worse but the possibility of her parents being executed did drive her decision.
5. Yes, I belive she will re appear later on to help Viv with something else.
