What do you think caused the chill in Edira’s fingertips when she traced Orin’s crest?
In Chapter Twenyt-Two, we see Orin convincing Edira that she shouldn’t threadmend her brother because his condition may deteriorate. Why do you think Orin suggested she waste time in curing one of the Evers first. What would you have done in this situation?
Edira’s attempt to heal Orin went quite differently than her attempt to heal Zota. Why do you think this is?
Edira notices that Orin’s blight seems more malicious than Zota’s. Going so far as to describe the blight having teeth. What do you believe makes their two blights different? Could it be because the Evers are cursed with blight because of the Death character. Or is it because of their magic?

I’m not sure but I think she cares for Edira and wants to help her but is unable to. Maybe she knows Edira is being tricked or taken advantage of?
I enjoy a good slow burn, and even though the spice was only at the end, I still don’t feel like Edira’s feelings or love for Orin are real. It’s too quick, but that might also be because Orin feels sketchy to me…
I think the crest has to do with the evervow from their father. Orins definitely hiding something here as well because why did he subtly remove her hand from it?
I’m not sure what Orin is playing at… why are her brothers deteriorating so quickly all of a sudden? Why let her cure him when he initially only wanted her to cure Mavis? It’s a control thing in my opinion. I think he already thought of bonding with her but maybe he wants her to come up with the idea on her own so she can claim it as her own idea (hence why he said yes so quickly without hearing her out)…
I think Orin somehow fought it. Because if she failed, she would hopefully come to the bonding conclusion I mentioned above. I probably would’ve healed Mavis, instead of Orin or Rorik, because it was the original deal.
I’m not sure. Maybe it has something to do with Death but I need more info.
Yes, but I mentioned that above already. I also think she’s being stupid by rushing into this. It might be because her brothers are sick and she’s desperate but it’s frustrating.
As mentioned in previous posts, I feel like Mavis is the one who has been watching Edira. There’s more to her story.
I think Edira and Orin will bond and we will see Orins true colours. Or Rorik will try and stop the bond. It’s also probably going to end on a cliffhanger.

1. For allowing previous threadmenders, including Rowena go through the same thing and not saving them, and for not being there for Edira, or being able to do something more to help her.
2. I prefer books similar to this one, with as little as possible spice. (If the spice is there from the go, it really turns me off from the book).
3. There is magic in their family bond and it probably has something to do with the Evervow placed on them by Orin’s father.
4. Because he wants to be healthy first – he knew she would choose to heal him before any of the other Evers. He’s manipulating her into helping them before her brothers, because he knows that she would die if she mended too much or that she would have too little power left if she healed her brothers first. And he might also believe that she wouldn’t help them if her brothers were healthy. I would have demanded that he release one of the brothers from the magic so that I could at least try. Desperation might have bolstered her powers.
5. Because Evers have been cursed with blight, I don’t think they can be healed. Or at least, it’s much more difficult than with other beings.
6. The Evers are cursed and the creatures are not. I think it’s because of Death’s curse. If it was magic, then the creatures would have reacted the same. The Evers’ blight would definitely be much worse.
7. I think that this might be the dumbest idea she’s ever had. Orin is clearly manipulating and using her and his previous heartbond died ‘mysteriously’. His reaction was definitely way to fast and I don’t trust it. I think he was hoping that this would be her decision.
8. I think Mavis knows that Edira is in danger and she sees more than she can share. Or perhaps Mavis hopes that Edira will cure her soon. Or perhaps she doesn’t trust Orin, either.
9. I think that Edira’s brothers are going to die because of her planned pact with Orin. Rorik and Vora might try to intervene. Edira herself might actually die if she bonds with Orin, or he might murder her and try to steal her power either to save Mavis, increase his power or break his father’s Evervow. I think trouble is on its way and that Edira will be pulling the shortest straw. -
✨I think she has been working for the Ferngloves for a long time and has seen how this plays out and is simple scared for Edira’s life.
✨I love this pacing! I prefer a slow burn relationship and want the characters to get to know each other a bit first.
✨It must have something to do with evervow or maybe he is just thinking about his previous heartbond.
✨I think it was mostly because they didn’t know if she was capable of curing her brother of the blight. I think Orin is hiding something from her and his condition is possibly worsening which is why her brothers’ conditions are as well. He knew it was a great risk for Edira but let her do it anyway. I’m very suspicious of him right now.
✨The Ever magic is very strong and they are immortal so the blight must react differently to them. Even when Edira tried to heal one of the twin’s cuts it was difficult, even if she didn’t have enough training yet.
✨It could very likely have something to do with the Death character and the woman was probably an Ever.
✨Way too fast. She should have been way more weary about his eagerness. I don’t know what his plan is but it’s not only for love and to cure Mavis and Edira’s brothers.
✨She might have answers to the cure and wants to speak to Edira in private.
✨They will bond but I think when they try to use their joined powers, Orin will hold back on purpose and something will go wrong.

– Books like this one feel richer, more tension, longing, secrets and the earned spice at the end hits harder. But it depends on the story!
– A sign of his curse, the crest might be tied to his Ever vow or heartbond, so her magic brushed against the ancient rot.
– He’s controlling her power and curing an Ever first benefits him more. I’d be torn, but I’d have chosen my brother first.
– Orin’s corruption is older and woven deeper it’s not just sickness but willful blight. Zota’s was simpler, less bound to magic.
– It might be tangled with Death’s curse or Ever vows. Orin’s power feeds it and it could be more a parasite than a disease.
– Edira asked Orin to be her heartbond way too fast. I think she is desperate for leverage and Orin’s quick acceptance feels like a trap or a last gamble to bind her closer.
– Mavis might be loyal to Rowena’s secrets and was spying to see if Edira becomes a threat… or a cure.
– I think Edira will unravel more of Rowena’s secrets, maybe confront Death again. The heartbond will twist Orin’s true motives will be tested. And the cure? It’ll cost Edira dearly maybe a piece of her soul or time.

I think she cares about Edira and knows what is in store for her and can’t help her.
I prefer the slow burn romance but more along the lines of Rorik and Ediras story. It makes it feel more authentic whereas when it happens to quickly like Orin and Edira, it feels forced.
Some kind of darker magic perhaps. It seems to be hiding something and maybe it has to do with the evervow.
I think he fears that if she heals her brothers first she wont want to heal any of them or might try find a way to escape.

I think it has to do with that original character perhaps abusing the power and it has cursed the Evers whereas the animals are pure and didnt come across their magic in sly and deceitful ways.
Yes, i think he had been waiting for it and i fear it plays right into his plans.
I think she knows more about what is going on but just cant communicate. It is hard to tell but there is most definitely more to the story.
I think Orin’s plans will come to light and he will end up being the bad guy. I think Rorik will help Edira somehow but i think that the last few chapters are going to be action packed.

Vora knows something that Edira is too blind to see, she’s either aware that she’s being tricked or betrayed, or she just genuinely cares for Edira.
I prefer books similar to this one as I personally feel spice early on makes the romance feel less emotional and a lot more lustful.
His past heartbond maybe? I’m also starting to think that lingering ghost in the manor is Lorelai…
It’s so backwards, but clearly Orin’s intentions aren’t as he’s been saying. He wants Edira to cure the Evers or at least him, but this will lessen her lifespan and she won’t be able to cure her brothers.
I think it is because they’re cursed by Death?
Yes. I’m super suspicious now because it’s as if he’s been planning for it to go this way, like maybe he even put Seville up to putting the idea in Edira’s head.
Mavis is fine, she knows what they’re planning. But maybe she is unable to speak or act due to magic placed on her?
I genuinely have no clue what to expect. Anything that comes now is going to be a curveball.

I think she feels guilty of all the threadmenders she’s seen walk through the Manor.
If it’s fantasy, I prefer books like this. The build up is key and with fantasy, the descriptions and plot of the book is more important than jumping straight into the romance aspect.
I know what it is so I won’t give any spoilers! But when first reading about it I would not have guessed what it really was.
I think we saw a bit of Orin’s true agenda. He knows that she was in this for her brother’s yet he still put an Ever before them, not knowing if she will have enough power to save them after.
I think it’s because the blight has been in them for decades.
I think it has to do with their magic. If it had to do with blight in general then everyone would have similar symptoms. Having teeth might just suggest Orin’s true character.
His reaction seemed desperate.
She knows something important.

A – I think its suspicious how quickly Noahr deteriorated after Edira told Orin that she wanted to save them first. A – I feel that the blight was brought on by Death trying to undo what the first Ever had stolen from him therefore it affects the Evers more deeply. A – I definitely think that Edira will realise what Orin is doing and will end up heartbonded to Rorik. His affinity to insects will then help her to absorb the blight like Ywena did -
I think Vora has been close to a lot of the threadmenders before Edira came to the house. She’s probably seen too many people go through the same cycle, and now she doesn’t want Edira to go through it too.
I do like a slow burn, but only if it’s with the character I actually want it to be with. That spice scene was super frustrating for me because I didn’t want her to get with Orin. It just annoyed me. But generally, I do prefer slower burns as it makes the payoff feel worth it.
I have no idea. That was dodgy. I think it might tie into where some of their magic or power comes from… but I honestly have no idea what it meant.
Because he’s manipulating her. It’s honestly one of the things frustrating me about Edira that she can’t see how blatantly he’s using her to get what he wants.
I think it’s because he’s been infected for a lot longer. With humans, the blight progresses really fast, but even though the Evers use magic to slow it down, Orin’s had it for ages. It’s like he’s got the weight of multiple human infections in one.
I think it’s because of their magic built into their threads, so the blight has more to latch onto. Honestly, it could also tie into Death wanting to make them suffer like the blight has teeth because it’s feeding off their magic or essence.
He said yes way too quickly. She hadn’t even finished the question and he said yes. He’s USING HER AND SHE CANT SEE IT
She’s seen so many people and even her own family die. I think she knows there’s not much time left and she just wants the suffering to end.
I still think what I said back in chapter 17 chat on Discord that she’s going to heartbond with Rorik. I just hope she comes to her senses soon, because if she ends up with Orin, I might actually scream.

I think she knows Edira is being manipulated but cannot intervene.
I 100% prefer books like this one. Minimal spice so we can focus on the plot and have an organic character development that results in their coming together.
Because of the Evervow.
He showed his hand, to be honest I think he was responsible for their rapid deterioration. He doesn’t care about her or her brothers.
I think he had to intervene so she would arrive at the heartbond conclusion.
I think its because they were cursed by the death character.
It’s the outcome he wanted.
To protect her from these people as none of them can be trusted.
I have finished the book having arrived at this question and all i can say is I did not see that conclusion coming.

Honestly I had no idea, maybe the Evervow but I don’t know.
It sounds super fishy and manipulative, he wants to be healed first. He is the only one that could of made their condition worse and I think he did it on purpose
I think the animals are just natural and innocent and Evers could be a curse or evil and that is why it is so different
I wonder if it has to do with there nature, think it could be both.
It was way to fast, I feel like maybe this was Orin’s plan all along. Very suspicious, like he knew she would ask him.
Mavis knows the truth and she wants to tell Edira
I think we will finally know Orin’s true intentions and I am hoping Rorik and Edira save each other somehow
