I think the encounter was very interesting and mysterious. I think it will definitely tie into the main characters story at some stage.
Yes it does. It tells us a lot about her character right off the bat and that she isnt just looking for an easier life. She has some grit to her.
Most likely in some mosaic of stained glass. There is nothing prettier than stained glass.
Most likely not. I think I would take care of my immediate family obviously for serious life threatening injuries but not just a small cut or broken bone.
Some sort of magical ability or heritage.
No, I think they tie in more with our main character.
I think they use them for their own needs and possibly something else, like perhaps they are researching something.
I dont think it was unfair. I think they were in shock and it was their friend so naturally you want to save them. It was unreasonable asking her to try heal him of something they know she cant fix though.
I do think they are more related to the main character and less so with the Evers. I think that they are two separate stories that somehow intertwine.
I think it is the same beetle, perhaps some sort of shapeshifter. But i think the beetle is following her. Either as some sort of protection or good luck. Like keeping an eye on her.
I think she is sweet. She offered Edira food when she noticed she didnt bring any and typically the wealthier do not do things like that in stories like this. I think it is a romantic idea that they could have a relationship but it wouldnt come without consequences. I definitely think she would be cut off from her family were she to persue a relationship with a mine worker. Also, he only gets one day off so I dont think starting a relationship would be all that easy.
I think he was looking for a threadmender. And i think that he could sense somethin about Edira since he went straight to her.

✨The paths the woman can choose allow her to be ever-living, contrary to the threadmenders. I think it is an encounter between a threadmender and death, but she does not want to choose his path as she as knows that nothing is ever-living and everything has a cost.
✨I adore that about Edira but it is also sad because it also seems like she has been forced to do this and doesn’t trust anyone but her brothers.

The woman’s encounter with Dsath was intriguing – especially when she got the stone of pure moonlight. I think this will be link to threadmenders. I think a piece of the stone is in the scrap of leather she carries with her.
It does! This makes the character more relatable to the reader.
I would love to paint my doors with flowers and vines.
If I had the ability to heal others I think I would feel bad for not healing others, but if it took from my own life I would be inclined to healing only life-threatening injuries over small things that could heal on their own.
She’s hiding that she’s a threadmender. It’s obvious that if she’s caught, like her aunt, she’s in for a worse fate.

It’s possible. They said that the stone was “of pure moonlight” and the threadmenders hair is described as “moonlit hair”.
I think the beetle is an omen that something big is about to happen as it showed up twice – each time before something big happened.
I think she’s different from the others in high standing. Instead of being married off, she wants to work. I think she is interested in Noam but her parents won’t allow the relationship. The only way would be if Lysa is prepared to give everything up.

With Death being introduced so soon, I feel like he’s going to play a big part in the main storyline. But with no mention of him in C1 and C2, I’m not sure how yet. Could he be the beetle?
Not wanting to be ‘saved by a rich man’ does endear this character to me. She wants to live her life on her own terms and I admire that.
I would love to have a stone arch like a castle in Scotland, with a wooden door, black iron handle. Having vines that grow up the sides of the wall and arch would be the cherry on the cake.
I would like to say that I would. However, with it shortening my own life, I’m apprehensive. So maybe only for my loved ones. The risk is also high with strangers.
She’s hiding the fact that she’s a threadmender. Unless you’re saying there’s more that she’s hiding? 👀

No and I think they realised their mistake. They’re still young. So I get it. When you’re desperate, you don’t always see logic.
This seems plausible, but I don’t know yet.
I do think the beetle is the same, and that it’s some kind of shape shifter, that’s spying. I have a feeling it had something to do with Death. But if not, it’s something or someone that will be crucial in helping Edira with whatever is going to happen in the near future…
If she really is sweet, kind, a ray of sunshine, it might be nice for Noam. If he’s interested.
No idea. But there will be some sort of interaction (or altercation?) between ‘it’ and Edira I think.

The woman’s encounter with Death immediately intrigued me. I definitely think it’s going to tie in with our FMC’s storyline, maybe something to do with her family lineage?
Yes. I think it makes her more real and relatable as well.

– It feels symbolic — maybe a sign of Death’s presence or a familiar. I doubt it’s a coincidence as nothing is a coincidence in a fantasy book. Gold suggests something precious and dangerous. It could be a messenger or omen — maybe even linked to her aunt’s disappearance. I think it’s the same beetle and it’s watching her for a reason.
– She might like Noam, but I’d watch her motives. Romance could get complicated especially for Edira trying to hide being a threadmender.
– Information or leverage. They probably sense something stirring — the mender bloodline, Edira’s growing power. The Evers strike me as the sort who show up when fate shifts.

It is certainly an interesting start, I do think it will be relevant later on the story. But death will greet us all, so I think his role is relevant in every story.
I’m neutral, she has reasons for her choice, likely she’s not had good experiences with wealthy men.
Hmmm, I’m not sure but I would like an elegant but strong appearance.
I think she has some connection to the person introduced to us in the prologue, so it must be some magical gift she has.
I think the Evers are related to the lady who met death. Are the Evers Edira and kin or nay. Because if it isn’t Edira then I don’t think either is related.
I’m not sure what they do with menders but knowing immortals, its probably no good.
I don’t think fair is the right word to use, I think it’s natural for people to try to rescue their friends. Friends are our chosen family, it’s like asking to choose between siblings, there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for you family. Blood or chosen.

It was an incredible start to the story and did the job of getting me hooked. As for the role it plays in the story, I have a feeling Edira is somehow tied to the Evers and they’re tied to death.
Yes, it sets her apart from many of the woman in her village and gives us an idea of her personality.
My doors would be a dark green with blood red flowers framing it.
Maybe only small injuries, but the larger ones would have to be left up to fate — I think its a tricky thing, playing with the fate of people and trying to prevent them from reaching death.

No, Alec was already too far gone and it was a waste of Edira’s life (however much it took)
I’m not sure what it is I think yet, both of these are possibilities in my mind so I’ll just have to keep reading.
It’s the same beetle, how many beetles are there that are gold?? Possibly sent by Orin(to spy) because it was there when her brothers arrived with Alec, and may have witnessed her heal him.

1. I believe she’s either going to be some distant relation to Edira or she’s connected to the “Fae” or the Evers. Maybe she’s their great-great-great-grandmother or something. It could go either way: she’s either the first person to have magic that Edira inherited, or she’s the reason the Evers are what they are.
2. Yes, I like that. It shows she’s independent and doesn’t want the easy way out. She wants to make a way for herself and not be reliant on men or the patriarchy.
3. I’d paint them with beautiful, ornate depictions of famous classic book covers and titles
4. I don’t think so. Given the consequences, it would really depend on who the person is. If it was close family or someone I deeply care about, maybe. But for just regular people? I think I’m a bit too selfish.
5. I think she’s hiding that she’s a threadmender, and that her hair could give her away. She clearly doesn’t want to be taken advantage of or have her powers used against her, so she’s doing what she can to hide that.

7. I don’t think they stockpile them exactly. I think they might be immortal, but they still have bodies, so if they hurt themselves, they’ll still bleed. Having someone who can heal those injuries is useful. It’s kind of like a vampire: they won’t die, but they can still be hurt.
8. I don’t think it was fair. While Alec means a lot to Noam and Nohr, he doesn’t really mean that much to Edira, and they put a lot at risk bringing Blight into their house, as we saw with what happened afterwards.
