After an epic entrance and rescue from Xaden, Violet shares how she didn’t break thinking this was his main concern. Instead, he professes his love to Violet in an epic speech. Do you think that despite trying to open up to Violet, Xaden hasn’t made it clear to her what his priorities are, or do you think Violet is just a bit oblivious?
What do you think of Violet’s mom’s confession? About her calling in the favour with Xaden so he could protect her?
All riders have now been informed of the Venin. Some have been allowed to see what happened at Resson to aid in the convincing and others have been denied that vision by their dragons. What do you think of Violet suggesting that they inform the entire quadrant? Some of the professors have also agreed to join the rebellion. Did you think they would?
Andarna is till in her deep sleep. Do you think now is the time to start worrying about what might be going on?
The Assembly is displeased with Violet and Xaden and their decision to bring the Rider’s Quadrant to Aretia. What do you think of their response to this? Do you think they are focusing on the wrong thing? Xaden has suggested that training continues, do you think they will follow his suggestion?
What do you think about the news that Tairn shares with Violet regarding Andarna?
Classes have seemed to resume but with slightly different curriculars. The leadership of the rebellion do not agree with keeping information to just themselves. In the Battle Brief, they openly shared information of everything that has happened since the riot left Basgiath. What do you think of this? Do you think this form of teaching will impact how Riders are taught in the future?
Battle Brief is interrupted by a riot of dragons approaching Riorson House. Mira is at the front. For the first time in six years the Sorrengail siblings are back. Violet says to Mira that she needed her. Did you heart also tug a bit at this?
Mira also sees Brennan for the first time. She subsequently punches him in the face though. How do you think having all three Sorrengails will impact the rebellion?
What do you think Violet is missing in her translation for the wardstone?
Felix has revealed to Violet that all her training with Carr has been pointless because she lacks control and aim. Do you think that Violet will be able to learn those two skills before the Venin attack?
The Sorrengail siblings are definitely going to cause a ruckus in the rebellion. The three of them steal away to the Viscount Tecarus. Do you think they will be successful in getting the luminary from the Viscount?

I believe Violet is acting a little bit oblivious but Xaden is also stubborn.
When General Sorrengail called in the favour I literally sat forward and was like whatttt?!? Did not expect that at all.I think it’s important that they are all aware of the real danger out there, that people have been keeping secret. Now they are all able to make their own decision about how they wish to proceed. I’m happy some of the professors joined the cause. I do think training will continue and completely agree that it should as they still have much to learn. I prefer the way they are learning now by being told all the information and not only parts of it. It will help them see the bigger picture and make more thoughtful decisions.
I’m excited that all three siblings are back together and I believe that they have such strong signets that they can use to their advantage. They will no doubt come away with the luminary.
I’m hopeful Violet will be able to learn those new skills before the venin attack them.

I don’t think Violet knew the depths of Xaden’s feelings and this was such a beautiful declaration *swoon as usual when it comes to this man*
I was very surprised – her mom plays the detached cold mother role so well but we see deep down she really does love her children.
I was really happy to know that and yes I did know some professors would fight. It’s life for death with the venin – no in-between. I agree , everyone should know.
No, she is safer in deep sleep – with all the magic she used I am a little worried it affected her.
They are really doing the wrong thing – they don’t understand the magnitude of the situation or they think they will be safe. I hope they do, the more training – the better the chance they have.
They should be given the truthful update – this will help them in knowing what is happening and be prepared. This will help when they are training so they know what to expect.
Yes! They siblings are a powerhouse and they love each other so much!

I hope so, Violet’s signet is one of the few to actually kill the venin and help win the war.

• Did not expect General Sorrengail to have used her Xaden favor like that.
• Kinda felt bad that Tairn had to do that even tho he feels uncomfortable memory sharing but I understood where Violet was coming from. It was a matter of desperate urgency. Didn’t think the professors would join tbh. Glad they did.
• I’ve been worrying about Andarna since cause for it initially rose.
• I get them being overwhelmed coz it indeed can be but they are focusing on the wrong thing. Classes seem like they might go on, the Assembly listens to Xaden begrudgingly often, it appears so
• I feel so bad for her but I’m glad it isn’t something extremely drastic like her dying or never being able to fly ever again at all. It is a tragedy tho but I feel like Andarna will overcome it.
• I think this transparency was desperately needed. The truth needed to be told.
• I did feel sympathy for Violet at that bit but nothing drastic
• The Sorrengail’s are badass and I’m so glad they are all together again. Them together is another asset that was required.
• I feel like the riders she took, 1 or 2 seem misplaced or maybe it needs to be powerful members from each province? Idk
• Felix is right and I like that he is schooling Violet. I also didn’t believe her lightning signet was limited to the sky or whatever. The power is in her so she can harness it whenever,however. Hopefully she can make it but if we learnt anything by now its that Violet is incredibly determined and pushes her limits.

I personally do think that Violet is a bit oblivious and stubborn throughout this book. Either that or maybe she’s just trying to prove her worthiness to him.
Mama Sorrengail really came in with some upsetting info, it puts a twist on her relationship with Xaden that wasn’t there before.
I think Violet is giving everyone else what she didn’t have, time to make a decision based on having all of the information and not just part of it. I really thought most of the professors already knew but maybe not.
I’m not worried about Andarna, the deep sleep doesn’t seem to be anything more than a growthspurt hybernation.
I think the assembly is basically just another version of Navarre’s leadership if they can’t see the good in having all of these people know the truth and be willing to come over to their side. Following Xaden’s suggestion is the only logical choice to prepare everyone as quickly as possible.
Everything surrounding Andarna just feels like it’s leading up to something.
Aretia’s leadership being open with the cadets is amazing honestly, they need to know what they’re getting themselves into. It should change future training of cadets.
My heart has been tugging with every interaction between Violet and her family. The Sorrengails seem to have their heads on straight though so with any luck they can lead the revolution to victory.
There’s definitely something up with the six and the one with her translation, maybe the wardstone isn’t the one.
Violet has been nothing if not willing to learn and I think if she puts her head to it, she will be able to learn control.
I have complete faith in the Sorrengail siblings to do anything they put their minds to.

I thought Violet was supposed to be smart? Girl – what are you doing? Get it together, homie.
Honestly, I’m getting annoyed with all the secrets and deals because what purpose does it serve? I get it – the General wants to protect Violet but then why send her to the Rider’s Quadrant if she might die with or without Xaden’s protection? Huh? Maybe I am not understanding so well…
I think it was wise of Violet to let the riders have a choice to fight in a war they had no knowledge of. It only seemed fair to give them a choice seeing as the leadership kept it from them.
I think its weird that Andarna is still asleep but the dragons have their own secrets and leadership and who are humans to question dragons. I just wonder how its going to affect the war.
The assembly isn’t exactly in a demanding position. Beggars cannot be choosers but I hope if they do continue their training that they will focus on the right things – learning about their enemy and how to defeat the venin because that’s the most important thing.
I’m always a sucker for sibling stuff – I love a family reunion. I hope they can work together in the battle.
I have no idea – but isn’t it great that Violet is smart…sometimes…
I think Violet is a quick learner, but what was the point of Carr’s training then?
I love the little filler of a Sorrengail Escapade – I hope we get to see how they interact more.

I think that Violet refuses to believe that anyone comes before such an important role. She’s used to her mom where they had to move constantly for her job before settling, or being told it was in the best interest of the country.
Her mom’s confession makes things tie up better – now we know why Xaden didn’t immediately hunt her down. It actually made me choke up a little at the confession. We’re used to emotional stone walls with her and this was some form of insight into her love for her children.
I love that Violet informed them and gave them agency over their own future! I thought Devra and Emmerittio would join and I really thought Kori would be joining but it makes sense he’s with the Empyrian.
I think that as a reader it’s because Andarna is going to be a total badass and the most powerful of them all.
I can understand their response to this in terms of resources (dragons and riders eat a lot) and in terms of protection as their location could easily be compromised.
I think they’ll grumble but continue with training – it’s the best way to prepare for any future attacks.I feel awful for Violet and Andarna because it’s the repercussions of going above and beyond.
I’m so happy they’re disclosing full information! Transparency harbours trust, and these lessons will help deal with the reality – plus more minds mean there’s a higher chance to figure things out faster.

I think the three siblings bring a great mix to the table – fearless, intelligent Violet who figures out things. Mira who is a total badass and will protect her siblings, and Brennan who thinks of everyone before him.
I think she might have translated it a little wrong, maybe a word off?
I don’t think she’ll be able to learn them well but she’ll know more about her power and the control that comes with it which increases their chances anyway.
I think they’ll get the luminary. Violet is determined. I don’t think the king will make it easy though

I think Violet was a bit oblivious and didn’t see how much Xaden actually loves her. But Xaden has a contribution to that, since he kept secrets from Violet which made her doubt him. But this scene was so good!
The confession from Violet’s mom! I did not expect that and was in shock. That made me doubt everything I thought I knew!
I think this is finally a step in the right direction. Everyone can now decide on which side they want to be and no one is left in the dark. I didn’t think that the professors will join, but I was surprised and glad that they did.
Andarna is making me worried. Either she has a big role to play or something is very wrong.
Training is important and I feel the only thing that can prepare them for what’s ahead. The Assembly is still trying to control the situation, and I think they’re wrong.
The news about Andarna!! Just another mindblowing moment. That dragon keeps on surprising me.
I think this will impact how Riders are taught in the future and it’s a good thing.
That moment when all of the Sorrengail siblings are back together! Such an emotional moment.
Having all three together is the best thing at the moment, since they have so much to offer the rebellion and they are working towards the same goal.The translation of the wardstone still has me thinking. I’m not even going to try a theory because I’ll be wrong.
I think with the right training, Violet will be able to aim and control her signet. There might not be enough time to hone those skills, so she’ll just need to improvise.
I think that whatever the Sorrengail’s put their mind to, they will be able to do it. Especially since they are now together.
