In Chapter Twenty-Six, Violet learns of an attack on an outpost. The outpost was Samara and while no riders died, the Professor Devera indicates to Viole that Xaden may be critically injured. When Violet arrives at the outpost, she sees that Xaden is well. Through Chapter Twenty-Seven, we learn that Xaden was in face injured but mended to. Do you think Professor Devera told Violet that Xaden was injured knowing she would leave Basgiath without leave? Or was she just being kind to Violet?
In Chapter Twenty-Seven, we finally see Violet stop resisting both Xaden and her feelings for him. Do you think we will see Violet telling Xaden that she loves him soon?
In the same chapter, Xaden finally offers to take Violet with him to a weapons drop. How do you think this decision will impact their relationship?
Violet and Tairn’s relationship has come a long way. Their banter in Chapter Twenty-Eight lightens the mood. While the two of them have gotten closer, Andarna is still in her Deep Sleep. Do you think not having this time to bond will impact Violet and Andarna?
What do you think of the drift we are introduced to in Chapter Twenty-Eight? Do you think Syrena will be able to stop the drift attacks? We were also introduced to Catriona. What do you think of her?
At the end of Chapter Twenty-Nine, it is clear that Violet has friends amongst the professors at Basgiath. However, the question still remains on who is friend and who is foe.
Additionally, Violet has now told her friends about the venin. How do you think this will impact the rest of the book? Will she finally be able to open up completely to her friends and share all the secrets she is able to? What sort of involvement do you think they will have once Xaden finds out that they know.
In Chapter Thirty, it is finally time for the Threshing. It is time for the first years to get bonded. Aaric and Sloane both bond successfully and things are looking up on the research side of things. Unfortunately for Violet, she is attacked by infantry. It is clear that Aetos has sent the assassins. Who do you think saves her?

Why does Devera care at all? Why would she hint at all? I’m so suspicious of everyone because what did she gain by getting rid of Violet? Getting the shipment to Xaden faster – OMG did I just figure it out? Is Devera making sure the luminary is forging the weapons and getting them to Tairn because Professors probably have all access to the grounds of Basgiath…am I a detective?
MY SHIP IS SAILING! Tairn must be so, so happy.
Why was Violet able to bond with two dragons? It’s making me wonder why a feathertail was just running around at all if they’re meant to be precious and hidden. I don’t think it will affect their relationship, though. Just wondering why having two dragons matters at all unless it comes up in Onyx Storm that Violet will be fine if anything happens to Tairn because she has two dragons and by proxy, Xaden will be fine? I don’t think I’m fully understanding the bond between rider and dragon.
Does this blow my shipment theory out the water? Unless the number of venin is increasing. I can’t handle a triangle. There are already five people in this relationship and no one has time for your Catronia. And where would Xaden have had the time anyway? Between not dying at college, building Aretia and leading a revolution? You aren’t an ex, Cat, you were a hobby.
Are some professions helping? They have to – but why would they unless they were always helping Xaden. I trust no one.
If it’s Xaden, I will laugh because the timing is exceptional. If its Jesinia, that would be cool.
Overall thoughts: Tairn must be so happy his ship is sailing again! But I trust none of these bros – even our “friends”.

I think professor Devera was just being kind to Violet.
I do feel like Violet will tell Xaden she loves him soon, even with all their issues it seems that their feelings for each other keeps growing. Xaden taking her along to a weapons drop is also a sign of him allowing her in more.
For me I think Andarna is such an understanding and loving character, even with her teenage sass that it’ll fill the gap with her and Violet.
Syrena seems like she has her head and straight and like she’d be willing to do what she can for her people, Cat on the other hand seems like a raging bitch.
Her friends will for sure join the resistance, they’re too sincere to not. I also think that with time she will open up with all of her secrets.
Someone nearby must have saved her, it’s the only thing that makes sense.

I honestly didn’t know what to think about Devera. Was she indeed giving a signal to Violet? Or was she literally just scratching the left side of her neck?
I like to believe that she was being kind to Violet by informing her of her loved one’s injuries.Violet and Xaden – thank the Gods! This pent up tension was getting unbearable. I really do hope she will be able to tell him those 3 words, because she does indeed love him.
Xaden is opening up to Violet and letting her in more and more, which only helps to build the trust between them.
I LOVE the banter between Violet and Tairn. He is so funny and witty. I do have my reservations when Andarna wakes up and how Violet’s attention will be divided between the 2 dragons.
Catriona certainly raised my eyebrows since she is Xaden’s old flame, and she seems quite judgemental and stuck up. Syrena seems to be a good leader for the riders.
I’m so relieved that Violet’s friends are clued up regarding the venin etc. I hope they will band together and help the cause. Strength in numbers.

I think she knew Violet would leave Basgiath without leave. I’m sure Tairn would’ve knew, or at least news would’ve spread, if Xaden was truly injured.
I don’t think we’ll see Violet telling him she loves him any time soon. This was the perfect opportunity to tell him.
I think that made Violet trust him more. But with the news of Cat, it’s another thing pushing them apart.
I have a feeling Andarna is awake, the bond between them is too quiet…
I think that Syrena will only be able to stop the drifts with help from the Riders.
I think Violet telling her friends about venin could change the plot of the book. Now there’s more people to get information. But it also means more people know, so they’re at risk. I don’t think Xaden would be happy at all, but with their signets they could maybe help Syrena with the attacks.
I’m getting a feeling it was Jack. I might be wrong but he has been too quiet since his reappearance…time for me to read on so that I can find out!!!

I think she told Violet for both reasons, knowing that she would leave Basgiath but also giving her a heads up.
Xaden is finally showing her that he trusts her explicitly and I think this will only help strengthen their relationship.
I think she has bonded with both her dragons regardless of whether Andarna is in her dream sleep or not.
I’m truly happy she told her friends about the venin. They can also now work on their friendship and strengthen their bonds with each other.

• I think at some point Violet will cave coz I mean c’mon it’s Xaden Riorson. He knows how to make her melt.
• This gesture means a lot to both of them specifically Violet. Its a step in the direction for their relationship that Violet’s been waiting for.
• No, Andarna is loyal to Violet and respects her a lot. She loves her bonded human. So does Violet.
• Maybe for a little bit but ultimately no, the Fliers will attack again. I don’t have an opinion fully on Catriona but right now I don’t like her.

I think professor Devra knows they can’t give out the information on who was injured – but she knows Violet cares for her sister and Xaden and would be full of worry either way. This way is a confirmation, maybe even to let her know it wasn’t anything ordinary.
I think Violet will want to hear that Xaden loves her first. She’ll want to see more of him.
I think this will help repair some of the trust – she is able to keep secrets now, maybe she can help more.
I think Andarna and Violet will change no matter if they were talking or not. They’re both developing – Violet becoming sharper and harder while Andarna is growing into herself.
I don’t think she will be able to stop the drift attacks, or at least not for long. It’s too much of a temptation for her people to be able to defeat their enemy who is killing those they love.
I don’t like Catriona already, she seems a bit bitter.I think they’ll all become stronger, but they will have targets against them. I think it’ll help Violet ease her burden but Xaden will be furious at first. Especially because it could be easy for one of them to betray her.

I don’t think she meant for Violet to be punished – Professor Devera seems to be one of the good people but you never know in Navarre!
I hope that Violet opens up to him, she can’t deny her feelings and she is only hurting herself!
Yes it will, Xaden is opening up exactly how Violet wants – showing that the trust can be saved between them. I think this took a lot for Xaden – Violet is not safe when it comes to Dain – he is putting everyone at risk for her.
No I think Andarna is suck a little firecracker – their bond will be just as strong!

I was so relieved to see her open up to them, knowledge is power and they can use this information to protect themselves if it comes to that, I hope their involvement will increase – Violet and the others need the support.
It has to be a friend – someone that really likes her – this is Basgiath after all – saving people is the last thing one can expect.

I feel that she told this to Violet to be kind, but I may be wrong. It seems that everyone’s intentions at Basgiath is not as it looks.
I think this was the moment that made Violet realise how much Xaden means to her and we’ll be hearing I love you soon. Especially with everything becoming so tense.
This is a form of trust and I feel will have a good impact on their relationship since Xaden is showing Violet that he’s letting her in.
I don’t think the Deep Sleep will affect them and the bond. They already had a good bond from the beginning. It might be difficult at first since Andarna has changed, but the foundation of their relationship will be there.
The drift and Catriona both have me nervous. I really have no idea what to expect.
I am so glad she finally opened up to them about the Venin. This will only help them in getting more answers. She might not be able to share everything at first, but maybe time will allow her to share with them. Xaden might be upset at first, but atleast they are now a bigger team.
I want to say Jack saved her, just because that would be interesting 😉 but it might be Rhi as well.
