Met Look

Chappell Roan walked the Met Gala red-carpet for the first time this year. Many described her look as perfection for the “Pink Pony Club” signer. The look consisted of a gigantic hot-pink patchwork coat trimmed with glittery fur. Underneath, she continued the pink streak in a bedazzled jacket and a pair of matching bell-bottoms. She was definitely HOT TO GO in this look!

Alex Aster

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Lightlark Saga, this is Alex Aster’s debut romance novel.
Twenty-seven-year-old screenwriter, Elle, has the chance of a lifetime to write a big-budget movie set in New York City. The only problem? She’s had writer’s block for months, and her screenplay is due by the end of the summer.
Desperate for inspiration, Elle returns to NYC – the city she hates – and tries to throw herself into her writing. But then she meets her new neighbour: Parker Warren. He’s the city’s favourite handsome tech billionaire and he’s also the guy Elle hooked up with in a stairwell two years ago. When seeing him again turns into a night of hate-fuelled writing, Elle realises Parker might just be her twisted muse.
So, when Parker needs to fake a steady relationship during his company’s precarious acquisition and Elle needs to research a list of classic date spots in the city for her screenplay, they suddenly find they might just be exactly what each other needs.
Summers always end, and so will this agreement.
It’s all pretend.
Until it isn’t.

Three siblings. Two human, one robot. The spectacular new debut about what it means to be alive.
‘Wildly and, yes, luminously emotional.’ Matt Haig, author of The Midnight Library
In a recently reunified Korea, robots have integrated seamlessly into society. They are our teachers, our bus drivers and policemen. They are our lovers. They are even our children.
Eleven-year-old Ruijie sifts through scrap metal in a Seoul junkyard, searching for anything that might repair her failing body. There amongst the piles of junk she happens across a robot boy: lifelike, strange and unlike anything she’s seen before.
Across the city, estranged siblings Jun and Morgan Cho haven’t spoken since the abrupt disappearance of their robot brother Yoyo, which shattered their childhoods and left a gaping hole in their lives. But Ruijie’s discovery is about to bring the lives of brother and sister hurtling back together, forcing them to confront the reality of Yoyo’s true nature, and the dark purpose their father never revealed.
At once a dazzling work of speculative fiction and a poignant family drama, Luminous is a timely, unforgettable story about what it really means to be human.

There’s only one person who might understand: her sister Jess. But when Lucy arrives at her sister’s desolate cliff-top house, Jess is gone.
Lucy is now alone, in a strange town steeped in rumour. Stories of men disappearing without a trace. A foundling discovered in a sea-swept cave. And women’s voices murmuring on the waves…
As Lucy searches for her sister, those voices get ever louder. They tell of two sisters, two centuries ago, bound and transported across the world. A world where men always get their way. A world that is at once distant, and achingly familiar.
Are these voices luring Lucy closer to her sister? Or will the secrets of the past pull them both under?

Antonia Hodgson

From an electrifying new voice in epic fantasy comes the Sunday Times bestseller title – a masterfully woven tale of imperial intrigue, cutthroat competition, and one scholar’s quest to uncover the truth.
She might win the throne. She might destroy an empire. Either way, it begins with murder.
After twenty-four years on the throne, it is time for Bersun the Brusque, emperor of Orrun, to bring his reign to an end. In the dizzying heat of mid-summer, seven contenders will compete to replace him.
Trained at rival monasteries, each contender is inspired by a sacred animal – Fox, Raven, Tiger, Ox, Bear, Monkey, and Hound. An eighth – the Dragon proxy – will be revealed only once the trials have begun. Eight exceptional warriors, thinkers, strategists – the best of the best.
Then one of them is murdered.
It falls to the brilliant but idiosyncratic Neema Kraa to investigate. But as she hunts for a killer, darker forces are gathering.
If Neema succeeds, she could win the throne – whether she wants it or not. But if she fails, she will sentence herself to death – and set in motion a sequence of events that could doom the empire . . .
