Do you think now with Marietjie supporting Alex and Kwanele’s relationship, Alex might make a move? Do you think tradition and other people will get in their way?
Bianca tries again to get under Alex’s skin. We also seem to be getting closer to the truth of what happened to Alex. Do you think you are ready for the reveal? Will Alex still be able to remain head strong?
Kwanele seemed to have ramped up the flirting. What do you think of his tactics?
What do you think Bianca told Petrus that made him so scared?
Towards the end of the chapter, we see a complete flip in Alex. She is more confident and makes an attempt at small talk and actually manages to get the guests excited. This almost feels like everything will work out for Alex. Do you think she will remember her first big win?
With things going so well, it obviously had to come to an end. Bianca reveals all of Alex’s secrets over dinner. What did you think of everything being revealed from Alex’s high school days and how Bianca threw Alex under the bus in regard to her family history.
Do you think Legend will take the time to speak to Alex?
Much like Alex said, things went from bad to worse. Do you think Alex did the right thing in saving the baby baboon?
Should Kwanele have said all of those things to Alex considering how fragile the situation was?
In the moment of crisis, Alex decided that flight was the best mode of action and left Yamihle. Do you think this was a good decision? She initially left without much of a plan.
Alex eventually figures out a plan and heads to The Plains. What do you think Antionette and Barend being there for Alex, knowing what trouble she could bring?
Antionette encourages Alex to tackle her problems head on and talk to Legend. Do you think Legend will listen to Alex’s advice? Alex mentions that she knows Legend wouldn’t want her back at the game reserve, but do you think this is true?
It seems like things at The Plains are dire. Will Alex be able to turn things around for Antionette and Barend?

Yeah, Marietjie’s support helps, but tradition and gossip will definitely get in the way.
Bianca’s annoying, but I’m ready for the truth. Alex will hold her ground.
Kwanele’s flirting is obvious, but it works. He knows what he’s doing.
Bianca probably blackmailed Petrus or threatened his rep.
Alex’s shift was great. She’ll definitely remember that moment.
Bianca went too far. Airing out high school and family stuff was cruel.
Legend might talk to her, but only if he cools off.
Saving the baboon was the right call, even if it caused chaos.
Kwanele should’ve waited. His timing sucked.
Leaving made sense emotionally, even if it was messy.
Antionette and Barend backing her was unexpected but solid.
Legend might listen. Deep down, he still cares.
Yes, Alex can turn things around. She’s scrappy and determined.

Kwanele’s mother may not approve of the relationship, but them as couple may try to work it out.
It seems she had a traumatic experience, Alex sems to have grown through the book, but I think what happened which she doesn’t seemed to have delt with properly yet, will be her downfall.
I think Kwanele is sweet and caring.
Bianca probably know a secret of Petrus’s and threatened him with it, and that made him scared.
I really hope she does, because she is stronger than she thinks she is.
Horrific Bianca was in her element revealing all of Alex’s past, we knew she was a snake in the grass wiht too much time in her hands.
Legend doesn’t like having his staff humiliated in public, I think Legend needs to calm down and he will try to talk to Alex to get the whole story from her side.
Unforntely nature can be very harsh and us as humans want to interfere often with bad repercussions. Alex as guide knew she was doing the wrong thing, leaving guests and saving the baboon. She was not in a good place emotionally so her judgement was bad.
No Kwanele should not have said all those things to her, I think he was hurt by what he probably saw as her deceit, so he hurt her. Hurting people, hurt people.
Alex always runs and she needs to stop running and face her fears, so leaving was not the right choice> She was lucky Antionette took pity on her and the baboon and helped her out.
i think it was wonderful that they took her under thier wing and helped her. I think they saw how broken she was and took pity on her.
Legend is in a bad place with the shareholders, so I think her will take Alex’s advice. I think Legend may take her back.
I hope she will turn things around for Antionett and Barend, Alex may need to call her father or brothers for help.

I really like Kwanele and Alex. I hope his Mom gives her blessing.
I’m so anxious for Alex, it’s going to break my heart, whatever it is.
Kwanele is just adorable, I love them. I hope they work out.
Oh gosh. I haven’t thought of this. It’s a mystery in itself.
I was so proud of Alex ND her mental and emotional growth.
Omg, this Bianca is such a bully and insecure person. I hope she gets a good kick under the butt.
Yes, he will. I think he likes his staff. He seems like a cool person.
No, she should have let nature be nature.
Shame, that was harsh, but Alex brought it on herself.
It was the wrong decision, she should have stayed and deal with it.
It’s so cute and kind of them. They seem like good people.
I think Legend would take her back, especially if her advice saves the lodge.
I doubt she can talk to the oom and tannie but she’ll bring back some information.

Gosh I really hope Alex makes a move. Or Kwanele. But someone must. I’m literally dying over here.
Bianca is a terrible person and I really hope she trips and lands in elephant poop! But yes, I can see there’s going to be a massive explosion and I think Alex is going to freak out.
I think Kwanele is really cute, even though it seems so sudden. I really wish we got more relationship development between the two!
I think Petrus is scared of Bianca just because she’s Bianca, it was quite a funny scene though!
I love how things are going for Alex. She’s working for it and she’s accomplishing what she set out too! I really hope she realises how good a guide she is and can be.
I think it’s really sad that Alex had to go through that and I hate Bianca for thinking she can take something like that and throw it in someone’s face. She is truly dispicable but it was always going to end up this way and Alex should have known that too.
I don’t think I understand Legend. Sometimes I like him, sometimes I don’t. I really hope that he has come to know Alex enough to actually hear her out.
I don’t think there is a wrong or right in what Alex did, she’s a compassionate person who really cares about animals, she has shown us that by willingly stealing a dog to ensure it gets treated better. So while she should not have done it, I believe that she did what she thought was right.
No, Kwanele should not have said any of those things out of anger. Actually I domt like him very much now lol.
She did leave without a plan but what else could she do? We already know Alex has a flighty character so it was always going to go this way. She made a good decision going to The Plains.
Antoinette and Barend are really amazing people and I loved them!
It’s very hard to tell what Legend thinks but for the sake of the story I believe that Legend will definitely listen to her and even want her back at Yamihle.
Of course Alex will be able to turn things around for The Plains, she might be a total mess but she’s not one to give up when she sets her mind to something. -

I think that she feels more accepted but it won’t be easy. Kwaneles mother sou is very traditional.
I am ready for the reveal. Bianca is a mean girl and I think that it’s definitely some sort of bullying. I think that Alex has matured enough to handle the reveal
He definitely has, it’s a little long winded but at least he’s trying va hinting and hoping that she gets what he means. Especially at the end of chapter 16 🙂
She may have threatened to get him fired. She seems like the type to say that.
Definitely, she made an effort and the guests appreciated her welcoming behaviour. The fact that Marietjie asked her for help with her guests is testament to that.
I thought that Alex shouldn’t have lied about Liesbet being her mother but it wasn’t Biancas business anyway. The stuff from high school was even more mean since that was long ago and was a terrible case of bullying and jealousyYes, he’s the kind of person who is fair and also listens to the fulls story even though he is short tempered
I think it was dangerous but I think that she did do the right thing. She waited for the pack to come back and they didn’t
He was worried and angry. Alex took a big risk and she and/or the guests could have been hurt so I don’t blame him for being angry
I don’t think it was a good decision but she was using her normal avoidant behaviour so fell back onto old patterns and also she was worried about the Plains so she went where she felt safe.
They know that she is good at heart and they are also good people. They could see that she had wanted to help and that she also needed help
Yes, I think he knows that she wants the best for Yamihle and he will listen. You can see that he wanted to discuss things further but she cut him off.
Yes, I think that Alex has a plan for the Plains and will make things better. She wants to help Antionette and Barend

I think Alex will let things play out naturally. I’m not too sure what to make of family traditions etc getting in the way.
Bianca really grates my cheese! I’m totally ready for the truth and for Alex to own the moment.
I was pleasantly surprised by Kwanele and his moves!
Bianca probably threatened Petrus in some way and played on his insecurities
She definitely will! It’ll be an achievement moment in her career.
It was extremely uncalled for that Bianca would embarrass Alex by publically revealing her highschool trauma and her family secret. Yet another bully.
Not immediately, but I do think he will hear her out at some point.
It’s against the rules for a guide to intervene with nature, but I probably would have done the same.
Kwanele could have taken a softer approach.
Yes I think it was good for her to get away completely.
I think Antoinette and Barend being there for Alex was pretty cool of them.Yes I think he will listen to her advice.
I think he does want her back, despite her horrible mistakes.Alex to the rescue – I really hope she can!

1. Yes, with Marietjie’s support, Alex might finally feel secure enough to make a move. But tradition and external judgment could still pose emotional hurdles, especially for Kwanele.
2. I think I’m ready, but it’s clear that whatever happened to Alex has shaped so much of who she is. Whether or not she remains headstrong will depend on how deeply the reveal shakes her confidence.
3. Kwanele’s flirting has definitely gotten bolder—it’s playful but also more intentional now, like he’s signaling he’s serious about Alex.
4. Bianca probably used some twisted version of Alex’s past to manipulate Petrus. It must’ve been something deeply personal or shameful to scare him that badly.
5. Yes, this felt like a turning point for Alex. She’s building confidence, finding her rhythm, and owning her space—this first “win” will likely stick with her as proof she’s capable.
6. It was brutal. Bianca revealing all of that in such a public, humiliating way felt like a betrayal on every level. The high school stuff might seem small, but the family history being aired out like that was cruel.
7. I think Legend will speak to Alex eventually, but he might need space first. He seems like someone who needs time to process betrayal or surprises.
8. Yes, Alex acted from her heart. Saving the baby baboon shows her empathy and instincts. Even if it caused chaos, it’s who she is at her core.
9. Probably not—but it came from a place of frustration and hurt. Kwanele may regret what he said once things settle, especially knowing how raw Alex already was.
10. In the moment, leaving seemed reckless—but sometimes you need to escape to gain clarity. It wasn’t the most rational choice, but it may have been necessary.
11. It says a lot about Antionette and Barend’s character. They showed up for Alex even knowing she might cause waves. That kind of quiet loyalty speaks volumes.
12. I think Legend will listen, even if it’s not immediate. Their bond runs deeper than just work, and Alex’s words will eventually get through to him.
13. Alex is doubting herself, but she might be wrong. Legend may be hurt, but he also knows Alex’s heart. A conversation could change everything.
14. It’ll be tough, but if anyone can turn The Plains around, it’s Alex. She’s scrappy, determined, and finally starting to believe in herself. -
Sascha
I think she’d scared to make a move and it might be Kwanele who needs to do it.
I think Alex but lose her nerve and run like she always seems to do.
Aww I really like Kwanele and how he is making it known that he is interested in Alex.
I’m really proud of Alex and how far she has come. I hope she realises the impact that this is having on her own personal growth.Bianca is a typical bully, she only cares about herself and making other people small. Although I don’t agree with Alex hiding her family, I do believe that she should be the one to reveal her secrets in her own time with people who make her feel safe.
Legend is a bit of a hot head, so I think he will react first before taking the time to listen to her.
I think Alex once again acted on impulse, leaving behind her guide group was extremely unprofessional and dangerous.
No Alex leaving was a sign of immaturity, she once again ran from her problem instead of trying to face it head on and deal with the consequences.
Legend would have most definitely cooled down and spoken to Alex with an open heart to get her side of events.I think Alex might be their saving grace after all.

1. Getting support from a friend regarding a possible relationship will probably encourage Alex to take a step forward with Kwanele. I do believe tradition, culture and expectations will come in the way of having a seamless relationship. I do think Alex and Kwanele will be able to work through everything.
2. I think Bianca’s going to bring out all of Alex’s lies and really make it seem like she’s the bad person. Honestly, i’m not prepared for everyone else’s reactions 🙈
3. Kwanele’s interested, alright. I think it’s cute that he’s showing his interest more directly now.
4. I have no idea 🙈 i thought Petrus was just horrified by the mere action of speaking to Bianca. But maybe she was blackmailing him into giving her some tea on Alex.
5. I think she will! it was so exciting seeing her character development 🥹 It’s such a big moment in her journey.
6. The things that happened to Alex was incredibly horrible, and her having to relive it years later in front of everyone must have been so hard. Bianca is a big L fr fr. Her family history, and how Bianca phrased it all, made it seem 10x worse than the actual situation. I guess that’s what Bianca wanted.
7. Legend’s temper may cause a few issues regarding speaking to Alex-but i think he’s fair enough to hear her out.
8. I understand that it’s incredibly sad seeing a baby animal wander into nature without its mom. Buuut, i do believe that nature has its cycle and interfering isn’t always the best call. Nature is cruel and Alex, as a guide, should be the first to understand that. Leaving guests alone in the African bush is ‘n bietjie mal and totally unsafe 🙈
9. Kwanele’s anger is fair since he was interested in Alex and he realised all she did was fake him out with a facade. Do i think he should have waited? Probably, but he felt a lot of emotion in that moment and probably wanted to hurt Alex to the point that she hurt him.
10. Not facing your mistakes is a bit of a cowardly move. Alex should take accountability of her actions instead of disappearing and making everyone worry. I think this is one aspect of her character that she needs to work on, since it’s also incredibly unprofessional.
11. I think it’s super kind of Antionnette and Barend to be there for Alex after everything she’s caused them. They probably see some change in her, maybe, and believe it’s worth keeping her around even if she has the potential to cause trouble.
12. Legend’s in a tough spot so i think he’ll definitely consider Alex’s advice. Alex assumes a lot and her thinking Legend wouldn’t want her back at the reserve is just, once again, an assumption. I think Legend would want her back since she has shown good skills and talent.
13. Alex is rather strong headed, so i think she’ll definitely get the ball rolling for The Plains!
-
1. I think Marietjie’s support and encouragement might give her more courage to take action, especially after Kwanele seemed to reciprocate some of the feelings. I don’t think they’d let cultural differences get in their way if they really thought their relationship would be worth the fight.
2. I’m really eager to find out what exactly happened to Alex that defined her in such a way. I think she might regress abit when the truth is revealed just because of how overwhelming it will be for her.
3. I loved their interactions when they went swimming! It was good to see the attraction building between them both!
4. Bianca must have threatened Petrus’s reputation or had some other form of blackmail on him!
5. I really hope so! It was such a defining moment for Alex’s personal growth and I do hope that she remembers it after everything inevitably goes down!
6. Bianca is an awful individual who would do anything to drag people down if she didn’t like them. Her actions were cruel and unnecessary, not to mention immature.
7. I really hope so. I would like to think he would at least give her a chance to explain privately.
8. It’s difficult to say. I think her moral compass and compassion for animals drove her actions but im not sure whether leaving the baboon behind would have been the best course of action for it.
9. I think he was hurt by the things she kept from him and he lashed out as a result. I thought he would have been calmer about the situation.
10. I understand wanting to run away from the mess but her plan was not thought out and dangerous. Driving for hours in that way could lead to accidents and she should have had a better plan than just running.
11. Their actions were so commendable. They decided to help a girl in need rather than looking at her like an ex employee who was a problem.
12. I think Alex showed more of her confidence that she developed by deciding to speak to Legend. I think he would want her to come back to work.
13. Seems like she has some sort of plan so I’d be eager to see what she does to salvage the situation. She’s determined, especially when there are bullies involved so I have no doubt that she would try her best to help!
-
1. I think with every mixed couple, there might be challenges, but they will most likely overcome them.
2. Yes, I am ready to know what it is. Alex has remained strong despite going through her ordeal. I believe that with the right amount of support and some therapy, she will remain strong.
3. It’s cute.
4. I hope so. I know I would.
5. It honestly doesn’t surprise me. Bianca is one of those people who thrive on others’ pain and misfortune.
6. Not initially, no. He seems to need space when he is mad.
7. As sad as it is, I believe nature should take its course, so I think she was wrong in taking the baby baboon.
8. I think maybe he should have just handled it better. Hear her out before blowing a gasket.
9. I think they still care about her, no matter the trouble she caused.
10. Legend – having cooled down now – might be open to listening to Alex. I believe he wants her back at the game reserve.
11. I hope so! -
Toni Van Der Westhuizen
I dont think anything will get in her way and i think the support has helped Alex gain some confidence.
I am so ready for the reveal!! I do think Alex has done a lot of growth and will be able to handle the reveal with care.
I think knowing Alex hasnt shut him down has boosted his confidence and i must say i like what i see…
Knowing Bianca she probably had some dirt on Petrus or he realised he gave away too much and is now hoarding it over him.
Most definitely. She went there for a fresh start and this is just the beginning of it. It was a big event in her life.
Again, it is in character for Bianca. I think it was very unfair to do that to Alex but i do think given the circumstances and her history she handled it alright.
I think he would. Although he acts tough he does care about his employees.
No, i think this was a mistake on her behalf and she knew better. Unfortunately it is a part of nature.
It hard because Alex did also lie about a lot. I think he was blidsided and i cant blame him for going off at her.
No, i feel like this is her reverting back to her old ways after all the growth she did do.
I think it was very sweet and shows a lot a about their character.
I think Alex is jumping to conclusions because if he didnt want her back he wouldnt be trying to contact her so much. I think tackling the problem head on especially with someone like Legend is the best course of action.
I have faith that she will. She has the stubbornness and determination to do it.

I really love that Mariettjie is supporting Alex. Their little girl bond is sweet and genuine, but I do not think Alex will act on it. She is still scared, and deep down, she is unsure whether Kwanele actually likes her in that way. She is not going to risk embarrassing herself or making a mistake that could make things awkward or hurtful.
Honestly, I don’t think I’m ready yet. But I do think it has something to do with the friend Bianca mentioned. The way Alex immediately shut down after that moment makes me think there’s real trauma there.
I love that Kwanele has been ramping up the flirting. It feels like he’s trying to be more obvious about how he feels, and it’s actually really cute.
She probably told him that since she is with Legend, she holds power by association. She likely implied that if she complains about Petrus, he could lose his job. Basically, she’s acting like being Legend’s girlfriend makes her just as important as he is
Yes, I think she will. This was a huge moment for her
I hated Bianca in that moment. None of that had anything to do with her, and she just stirred up drama for the sake of being cruel. It really frustrated me to watch her throw Alex under the bus.
I think he will. Legend tends to react emotionally at first but he always cools down. Once he’s had time to process, he’s quite reasonable. I do think he will eventually want to speak to Alex properly.
Yes. The baboon would have died otherwise, and I think Alex did what was right in the moment. Her heart was in the right place.
No, I don’t think he should have. He judged her way too quickly, and his response felt emotional and harsh. It came off as hurtful more than helpful.
Not really. Alex has a pattern of running away from her problems, and this was another example of that. Leaving with no real plan and abandoning everything was not the right move. I think she should have stayed and faced the situation, even though it was difficult.
They are the kind of people who help others, regardless of past mistakes. Their issues with Alex were always more about her professional style and guest interactions, not about who she is as a person.
I think he will, eventually. But Alex did not give him a chance to speak in their last phone call. She just dumped everything on him and then hung up before he could respond. That didn’t feel like she was truly facing the problem. It felt more like she was running again.
I really hope so. With how kind and soft-hearted Antoinette and Barend are, I want their farm and reserve to be saved. If anyone can help them get back on track, it is probably Alex
