Lifting the Lid – Day One

What do you think of Sylvie and Winnie’s relationship?

Why do you think someone would want to set them up?

In Chapter One we learn that Winnie has taken in a cat. Would you keep the cat even if it was scaring away customers?

Winnie tests her wine tasting skills with Sylvie. Are you a fan of wine tasting? Or do you, like Sylvie, think it’s not necessary?

Do you think something will happen between Claude and Winnie? Or is it just some friendly competitive feelings?

It seems Winnie may be a cat person while Sylvie is a dog person. Which one is your favourite life companion?

In Chapter 6, Sylvie is deciding if Winnie is right in that she needs a hobby. Other than reading, which one is yours?

Why do you think Claude is cosying up to both Sylvie and Winnie? Do you think he is suspicious?

    1. Obviously they’ve been friends for years, and their dynamic is fun, light-hearted and sisterly. (And they’d clearly help each other dispose of a body! Now, that’s friendship!)
    2. Because someone knows what they’ve done, and they want the duo to pay for it. Or, to do his / her dirty work.
    3. 100% yes! I’m a cat person through-and-through, and my baby would go everywhere with me.
    4. I like going to wine tastings, but I’m a swallower. (And I don’t sniff my wine…)
    5. I believe it’s just some friendly competitive feelings. He seems more into Sylvie than anything else.
    6. Definitely a cat! (Not that I’m against dogs, we have those too.)
    7. Photography & painting.
    8. One could think that he’s cosying up to Sylvie because he likes her, and to Winnie because of their mutual wine-interest. But, I think he’s suspicious…that guy doesn’t sit right with me.

What do you think of Sylvie and Winnie’s relationship?
I’m loving the contrast! Silly Sylvie and Serious Winnie 😂 I love how close they are and how well they balance each other out. They’re really comfortable around each other and really trust each other (a good thing if you’re getting rid of bodies together).

Why do you think someone would want to set them up?
I think they knew they could get rid of the body easily and are using that to their advantage.

In Chapter One we learn that Winnie has taken in a cat. Would you keep the cat even if it was scaring away customers?
Yes! I’m a cat lover and having a cat at work would be amazing

Winnie tests her wine tasting skills with Sylvie. Are you a fan of wine tasting? Or do you, like Sylvie, think it’s not necessary?
I’ve been to wine tastings before and they’re super fun but I wouldn’t say I have as refined a pallet to identify different tastes. Reading this has made me feel like wine though and I’m a very occasional wine drinker! 😂 I do think spitting is unnecessary and a waste of the wine

Do you think something will happen between Claude and Winnie? Or is it just some friendly competitive feelings?
Winnie is definitely hoping so but he seems more into Sylvie

It seems Winnie may be a cat person while Sylvie is a dog person. Which one is your favourite life companion?
Asking the hardest questions 😭 I love both but if I’m forced to choose, I’m a cat person

In Chapter 6, Sylvie is deciding if Winnie is right in that she needs a hobby. Other than reading, which one is yours?
I have so many 😂 gaming, crafting, hiking, painting, trying out new restaurants, and binging series.

Why do you think Claude is cosying up to both Sylvie and Winnie? Do you think he is suspicious?
He definitely likes Sylvie and Winnie appreciates wine but he does seem suspicious. I think at the moment he’s cosying up to use them – get more attention on his wine, free photography, and free publicity.

    1. The relationship between Winnie and Sylvie is so wholesome and precious! I really enjoy it.
    2. I think someone might be jealous of the good friendship they have.
    3. I love cats so I would absolutely take it in. However, if it’s losing me business I would probably leave it at home.
    4. I enjoy wine tasting, but there’s no way I’m spitting it out!
    5. I think Claude is very focused on Sylvie, and I feel like it’s for his own personal gain.
    6. I’m definitely a cat person, but I love dogs too!
    7. I really enjoy crafts. I recently started water painting and enjoy it very much.
    8. There’s definitely something suspicious about Claude,I just haven’t figured it out yet. I think he just wants to gain something out of their kindness and naivety.

    1) I think Winnie and Sylvie have a very close relationship actually, considering what they have gone through together already.
    2) Well obviously what they’ve done previously is both illegal and morally wrong so that could be why…
    3) Yes – I 100% would. Cats are great.
    4) I love wine tasting – its a fun way to experience new wines and pairings. Especially as some wines can be quite pricey.
    5) I hope not – I think it’s just competitive.
    6) They both have their merits, but I’m a cat person!
    7) I enjoy baking and journalling!
    8) I think Claude wants something from them – perhaps an in at The Novel Eatery?

I love the relationship Sylvie and Winnie have and the interaction between them is great!

Someone has their own agenda and maybe will use blackmail to get them to do their bidding.

    I love cats, so probably.

The best wine tasting is wine with my friends, but the whole process is a bit over the top for me. Just give me some great wine to enjoy and relax. I trust my friend’s recommendations.

Hmm… its hard to say what would happen at this stage. Winnie does come across as fairly competitive.

Cats for me, love them and their cuddles whilst I read 🥰

Other hobbies I enjoy – Knitting, Sewing, Diamond Dotting and painting, nothing fancy but fun.

I dont like Claude, he seems rather creepy to me and suspicious! What is his agenda?!
