Why do you think Isla dreams of Grim and the two of them together?
Isla worries that Cleo has known that it was Isla who broke into the Moonling kingdom. If you think this is the case, why do you think Cleo has not confronted Isla yet?
Do you think Celeste’s secret was linked to Isla’s?
What do you make of Oro dying?
Do you think Oro chose his trial just to share that he was dying? Or do you think he hoped someone would step forward?
Did you suspect that Oro would choose Isla as his partner? Why do you think he has chosen her?
Oro presents Isla with a deal. She believes his reactions are from disgust. Do you think that is true?
What do you think of Oro saying that Lightlark will not like Isla because she is a Wildling? Why do you think Lightlark believes that the Wildlings abandoned them?
In Chapter Twenty-Three, Isla talks about hearing the wind speak and her speaking to the wind. Do you think there was someone or something behind the wind? Or is it just a part of Lightlark’s charm?
After nearly jumping to her death, Oro reveals that he is looking for Lightlark’s heart. What do you make of this?
Why do you think Celeste is against trusting the king when he has shared so many secrets with Isla?
Where do you think Oro and Isla will find the heart? Somewhere obscure or somewhere close by, hiding under their noses?
What do you think of the back and forth between Oro and Isla?
Where do you think Grim has been hiding, now that Isla has noticed his absence? What do you think of the dream she had?
Do you think Oro was harsh in saying that Wildlings are exactly who they are accused of being?

Why do you think Isla dreams of Grim and the two of them together? – I’m hoping it was all Isla and not Grims powers, I really enjoy them together
Isla worries that Cleo has known that it was Isla who broke into the Moonling kingdom. If you think this is the case, why do you think Cleo has not confronted Isla yet? – it would be easier to have her taken care of without Cleo’s hands getting dirty
Do you think Celeste’s secret was linked to Isla’s? -it’s possible that Celeste’s biggest secret is her alliance with Isla, or that she knows something about Isla or the Wildlings that she hasn’t told to Isla yet
What do you make of Oro dying? – there are still three books ahead, I don’t think he dies in book 1
Do you think Oro chose his trial just to share that he was dying? Or do you think he hoped someone would step forward? – both
Did you suspect that Oro would choose Isla as his partner? Why do you think he has chosen her? – nope that came as a surprise, hidden agenda
Oro presents Isla with a deal. She believes his reactions are from disgust. Do you think that is true? – in part, lack of knowledge or the response that he knows what her curse is and doesn’t want to allow her to get too close
What do you think of Oro saying that Lightlark will not like Isla because she is a Wildling? Why do you think Lightlark believes that the Wildlings abandoned them? – Oro is bracing Isla for cold hard fact, we don’t know why yet, it would be unfair to assume that Lightlark only hates Wildlings when everyone for the most part ran
In Chapter Twenty-Three, Isla talks about hearing the wind speak and her speaking to the wind. Do you think there was someone or something behind the wind? Or is it just a part of Lightlark’s charm? – I think it’s part of Wildlings magic
After nearly jumping to her death, Oro reveals that he is looking for Lightlark’s heart. What do you make of this? – a solution to his dying, the source of his power
Why do you think Celeste is against trusting the king when he has shared so many secrets with Isla? – she has her own preconceived notions and intel, she doesn’t have anyone around her educating her on histories because of their curse,
Where do you think Oro and Isla will find the heart? Somewhere obscure or somewhere close by, hiding under their noses? – I think it’ll be under their noses, Oro said it appears differently each time so that could also mean that it grows somewhere different each time too
What do you think of the back and forth between Oro and Isla? – it’s frustrating, Isl doesn’t need to be such a bitch to him
Where do you think Grim has been hiding, now that Isla has noticed his absence? What do you think of the dream she had? – I think he’s been plotting in secret, not like the islanders or other rulers like him, he’s probably happier on his own as well
Do you think Oro was harsh in saying that Wildlings are exactly who they are accused of being? – yes, again, preconceived notions, they’ve been apart for 500 years, that kind of time changes people

🖤 I think Isla dreams of Grim because there’s clearly something there that she hasn’t figured out yet, and her brain keeps circling it. Like unfinished business but make it romantic tension flavored.
🖤 I feel like Cleo probably knows or at least suspects, but she doesn’t seem like the confrontational type. She feels more like someone who waits, watches, and files information away for later to be used against the person.
🖤 Hmm I think it could be possible given that she knows Islas secret.
🖤 Oro dying honestly caught me off guard. It made everything feel more serious and sad, like suddenly there’s a timer on all his choices, and Isla’s too.
🖤 I think it was both. He needed to tell someone, but I also think part of him hoped someone would actually step up instead of just watching him fade away.
🖤 I didn’t fully expect it, but once it happened it made sense. Isla isn’t afraid of him, and she doesn’t treat him like a fragile king or a monster, she’s just… honest.
🖤 I don’t think it was disgust. I think it was discomfort. He feels a lot and doesn’t seem great at dealing with it.
🖤 It feels like Lightlark as a whole has been holding onto old resentment for a long time. If the Wildlings disappeared when they were needed most, I can see how that story got twisted into blame.
🖤 I kinda loved the wind thing. It could just be Lightlark being magical and weird, but it also felt like something was listening. Or watching. Or vibing in the background.
🖤 The heart feels important in a big, dangerous way. Not just physically, but like emotionally or symbolically important too.
🖤 I get why Celeste doesn’t trust him. Power plus secrets doesn’t automatically equal safety, no matter how open he seems.
🖤 I feel like it’s hiding in plain sight. Something obvious that nobody questions because it feels too close.
🖤 I loved their back and forth. It’s tense but also kind of fun? Like neither of them fully knows what they’re doing with each other.
🖤 Grim being gone feels intentional. Like he’s doing something important or hiding for a reason. The dream made it feel like he’s still connected to Isla even when he’s not around.
🖤 Yeah, it was harsh. It felt more like him projecting frustration than stating an actual truth. -

🔮 There’s an attraction there that she is sooo in denial about. She trying to convince herself that it’s good he’s been avoiding her, but subconsciously wants to see him.
🔮 Cleo is cooking up something.
🔮 No
🔮 Nothing more than what it is, I’m more interested to see what impact that’ll have on Lightlark.
🔮 He chose it just to share he was dying, he needed to tell them somehow.
🔮 Yes, from the first moment he appeared in the book. I knew something would tie him and Isla together.
🔮 Quietly yes, but I think there’s gonna be some sort of romance here.
🔮 Because the wildlings left
🔮 My first thought is Azul and the way he wants to introduce a new communication channel in Lightlark on the wind.
🔮 I, like Isla, thought he was the heart, so that was interesting.
🔮 Celeste has trust issues but honestly I still have this feeling that she’s up to something.
🔮 Somewhere obscure and very hidden.
🔮 They really don’t like each other man
🔮 Grim has just been hiding, not sure where. But avoiding her.
🔮 Yes -

For some reason I feel he has something to do with this.
She doesn’t seem like the type to confront someone without having a bigger plan.
Yes.
It wasn’t as surprising because it makes sense about never letting the fire go out.
Both.
I did not suspect he would choose her but after finding out about Lightlark’s heart it makes sense why he did.
I think it was more of being uncomfortable.
Lightlark probably didn’t want them to go and needed them and that’s why they feel abandoned.
I never thought of that, not sure, for now I’ll say it’s part of Lightlark’s charm.
This adds so much more to the story. Love it!
At this point you can’t really trust anyone because you don’t know if they just using you and once they’re done they will betray you.
Somewhere close by.
It’s frustrating.
I feel he knows Isla has been going out at night with the king. I just feel he knows way more then he lets on and is up to something.
Definitely.

1. Why does Isla dream of Grim?
It’s strange. She’s processing the intensity of her recent experiences with him. Grim is dangerous, magnetic, and beautiful, so he lingers in her subconscious.2. Why hasn’t Cleo confronted Isla yet?
Cleo knows, but she has no proof. Confronting Isla openly could reveal too much or force her hand prematurely. She’s waiting for the right moment—or more leverage.3. Was Celeste’s secret linked to Isla’s?
Yes. She gave Isla a look that clearly said: the secret is you.4. Oro dying?
The stakes exploded. His life is bound to the island’s health, so his decline threatens all of Lightlark. The trials stop being about curses and become a race against collapse.5. Why did Oro choose that trial?
Mostly to reveal his condition, but it also exposed how deeply everyone guards their secrets.6. Why did Oro choose Isla as his partner?
Unexpected, but it makes sense. She’s clever and dangerous in ways he can’t ignore. He needed someone who could handle the impossible—and that’s Isla.7. Was Oro disgusted by Isla?
Not entirely. His reaction is layered—irritation, calculation, maybe fear of what she represents. He isn’t disgusted; he’s wary.8. Lightlark not liking Wildlings?
Calling Isla a Wildling marks her as an outsider. Lightlark’s judgment is rooted in history—they believe they were abandoned because that’s the story they’ve inherited.9. Is the wind speaking to Isla?
Probably both. Lightlark’s magic feels sentient and reacts to those attuned to it. The voice could be the island itself—or echoes of those who came before.10. Lightlark’s heart?
It doesn’t feel that simple. I don’t think it’s just a relic—I think it has a deeper meaning, possibly symbolic, maybe even tied to love.11. Why doesn’t Celeste trust the king?
Because secrets don’t equal safety. Celeste knows the king may still have hidden motives, and Isla’s safety comes first.12. Where might the heart be hidden?
Somewhere hidden in plain sight—clever, unexpected, and easily overlooked.13. Back and forth between Oro and Isla?
The tension is thick with misread intentions. Oro doesn’t know Isla lacks power, which makes every interaction layered with misunderstanding.14. Where has Grim been?
Watching. Protecting. Lurking in the shadows. The dream hints at his presence without revealing him outright.15. Was Oro too harsh about Wildlings?
Yes—but he still doesn’t know Isla’s secret, which gives his words a different weight. -

🌸 I am starting to think their is more to their relationship than meets the eye. We know she already works with one leader….
🌸 Isla worries that Cleo has known that it was Isla who broke into the Moonling kingdom. If you think this is the case, why do you think Cleo has not confronted Isla yet? Cleo definitely has an ulterior motive. I think Cleo knows that Isla also knows some of her secrets. I don’t think she is in the place to confront her because she knows that Isla would do the same
🌸 Do you think Celeste’s secret was linked to Isla’s? At this point I am not sure if she has a bigger secret than what Isla’s is.
🌸 What do you make of Oro dying? This definitely changes things and make this centennial even more crucial to break the curse. The question is if he will still survive if the curse breaks?
🌸 Do you think Oro chose his trial just to share that he was dying? Or do you think he hoped someone would step forward? I think he wanted to see who will reveal their secrets and pay the price of whats needed to be the winner.
🌸 Did you suspect that Oro would choose Isla as his partner? Why do you think he has chosen her? I didn’t expect him to choose her, I expected Grim and Isla. He needs her expertise to search for the heart.
🌸 Oro presents Isla with a deal. She believes his reactions are from disgust. Do you think that is true? It seems like he does have an issue with the wildlings. There is no love lost.
🌸 What do you think of Oro saying that Lightlark will not like Isla because she is a Wildling? Why do you think Lightlark believes that the Wildlings abandoned them? I think knowing Isla this would be really hard to hear. I think it probably has something to do with the curse. Wildlings are part of nature and nuture and they will feel abandoned if Lightlark is dying.
🌸 In Chapter Twenty-Three, Isla talks about hearing the wind speak and her speaking to the wind. Do you think there was someone or something behind the wind? Or is it just a part of Lightlark’s charm? I think this might have something to do with her flare.
🌸 After nearly jumping to her death, Oro reveals that he is looking for Lightlark’s heart. What do you make of this? This was quite a shock because it seems like it was Oro all along.
🌸 Why do you think Celeste is against trusting the king when he has shared so many secrets with Isla? At this point I am getting more frustrated with Celeste. It seems like she wants to cut off everyone from Isla.
🌸 Where do you think Oro and Isla will find the heart? Somewhere obscure or somewhere close by, hiding under their noses? I think Oro is clever enough to know that it has something to do with the Wildlings. He wouldn’t pair with her if he didn’t think so. I think it might definitely have something to do with Isal and the wildlings.
🌸 What do you think of the back and forth between Oro and Isla? It feels like there is a lot of contempt between the 2 characters. I don’t think that test Oro made her do should give her any comfort in trusting him.
🌸 Where do you think Grim has been hiding, now that Isla has noticed his absence? What do you think of the dream she had? In the previous chapters we learn there is more to the curse than what everyone is thinking. I think Grim is also looking for an answer to break the curse.
🌸 Do you think Oro was harsh in saying that Wildlings are exactly who they are accused of being? Yes because all the other realms also left Lightlark and not only the Wildlings.

1. I think Isla dreams of Grim because he represents something she is drawn to but also afraid of. There is a strong emotional and physical pull there, and dreams feel like the only place she allows herself to explore it honestly.
2. If Cleo does know it was Isla who broke into the Moonling kingdom, I think she has not confronted her yet because she is waiting for the right moment. Cleo feels calculated, like someone who would rather collect leverage than act immediately.
3. Yes, I do think Celeste’s secret is linked to Isla’s in some way. It feels like they are both hiding truths that could completely change how they are seen in Lightlark.
4. Oro dying was shocking but also sad. It made him feel more human and less like this untouchable ruler with endless power.
5. I think Oro chose his trial partly to reveal that he was dying, but I also think he hoped someone would step forward. It felt like a last attempt to connect or be understood before it was too late.
6. I was surprised that Oro chose Isla, but at the same time it makes sense. Isla sees him as a person, not just a king, and he knows she is different from the others. I think he trusts her more than anyone else.
7. I do not think Oro’s reactions came from disgust. I think they came from fear, desperation, and the weight of everything he is carrying. Isla just misread his emotions in that moment.
8. Oro saying Lightlark will not like Isla because she is a Wildling felt cruel but honest. I think Lightlark believes the Wildlings abandoned them because history was twisted to place blame and protect those in power.
9. I think there was something behind the wind. It did not feel like imagination or atmosphere alone. It felt like Lightlark itself was alive and trying to communicate with Isla.
10. Oro searching for Lightlark’s heart makes everything feel much bigger. It suggests the island is more than just a place and that whoever controls the heart could control everything.
11. I think Celeste is against trusting the king because she understands how dangerous power and secrets can be. Even when someone seems honest, they can still be protecting their own interests.
12. I think the heart will be somewhere close by, hidden in plain sight. It feels very Lightlark to hide something so important right under everyone’s noses.
13. The back and forth between Oro and Isla is really compelling. It feels honest, emotional, and full of tension, like two people who understand each other but are still standing on opposite sides.
14. I think Grim has been hiding somewhere dark and isolated, either physically or emotionally. His absence feels intentional. The dream Isla had about him felt like longing mixed with unfinished business.
15. I think Oro was harsh in saying that about the Wildlings, but I also think it reflects what he has been taught to believe. It shows how deep the prejudice against Wildlings really runs.

1. Since Grim has mind abilities, I wonder if he made her dream about them 😂 However, I do believe Isla fancies him hence why she’s having dreams.
2. Cleo’s probably waiting for the right time to strike. She’s going to confront Isla at the worst possible time, perhaps.
3. I’m sure it is probably Isla’s secret, but I have suspicions about Celeste. I wonder if she has another secret that even Isla isn’t aware of…
4. If I were a ruler at that specific moment, I’d honestly walk off of that island 😭 Oro dying is an interesting development and I am so curious as to why and how it is happening. I have an inkling that there’s something or someone behind all of this. Perhaps I am wrong though 🙈
5. It was a great risk taken by Oro to do such a challenge. I think he knew what he was doing and wanted the rulers to know in order to make them realise how serious it is. However, Grim being so upset at Oro made me wonder if there was another reason for setting up the trial.
6. I did expect it! I knew Celeste and Isla wouldn’t end up with one another, I had a thought that it could be Grim. Oro probably chose Isla because she’s a Wildling and he needs help finding the heart of Lightlark. I do wonder if he’s also protecting her, especially from Grim.
7. No, she’s only seeing his reactions from the veil of her perception. I do not think Oro is disgusted by Wildlings at all.
8. Lightlark disliking Isla stems from the abandonment that happened years ago, probably. Betrayal lingers forever and I do wonder if the Wildlings had their hands mixed up in things they weren’t supposed to. Hence why Lightlark doesn’t react kindly Isla.
9. Oh the wind is definitely up to something 😂 These details that seem so small are always the big things at the end of the story. I do believe someone/something is behind the wind and I’m intrigued to see if anything Isla has said to it will come to light 🙈
10. It’s definitely suspicious since his intention once he finds the heart could be negative. However, I think Oro wants to find it to come closer to a solution to cure his death.
11. Celeste is just sus, man 😭 She doesn’t trust anyone at all and it makes me wonder if she isn’t just playing Isla by filling her with doubts. But, perhaps she is just trying to keep Isla safe.
12. I have a feeling the heart is probably going to be right in front of them!
13. I’m trying to see some ‘enemies to lovers’ vibes between Oro and Isla’s interactions…but Oro is not giving the energy 😭 honestly, if he spoke to me like that, instant side eye. I think he’s just reserved and not familiar with Isla yet, hence why he’s so uptight.
14. Ohh, Grim is up to somethinggggg. I know he doesn’t want to get involved with the games everyone is playing, but let’s be for real: he’s Grim, so he’s not just going to sit on the sidelines. Perhaps he sent that dream to Isla because they haven’t seen each other in a while? 👀…he has a sly nature about him so I wouldn’t be surprised 😂
15. It came across as rude, however I don’t believe he intended it to. Oro’s been around for a while and people do change, so perhaps his trust in Wildlings has faded away. Which, in turn, has made him bitter toward the entire realm.

Mind, seer or sleep walker abilities… I wonder if Grim is entering her dreams. There’s some kind of connection there. I just can’t figure out what.
To make her sweat about it. To stress Isla out, to the point of being a nervous wreck. To unsettle her. It’ll be easier to confront her when she’s not at her best
I think the way the narrator depicted the story, it seems like that’s the case. But I’ve said said the beginning that Isla needs to be on guard.
That was unexpected. And why is it progressing so quickly?
I think it was planned. He didn’t have to tell them anything. But he set the trial up, knowing his secret truth. He wanted to win so he could team up with Isla.
I really thought it was going to be an Isla-Grim team… Oro obviously needs her help.
It seems that way because of how the narrator depicted the scene. But I’m wondering if it’s an unreliable narrator.
I have no idea and no theories for this one. But it might also be the reason Oro dislikes Isla.
I feel like it could be something to do with Azul.
Sounds like the heart of te fiti lol.
It seems like Celeste wants Isla to be isolated and to follow “their” plan and listen to her alone.
Under their noses.
I love that Isla keeps pressing Oro. Hopefully he learns about her and from her. Maybe it’ll change his perspective of her.
Isla having naughty dreams? Who would’ve thunk it lol. Not sure where Grim is, but I mentioned the dream walking earlier. It’s a possibility.
Yes. Because why are we generalising?

@sirralton
1. She is as captivated by him as he is with her.
2. If that is the case, I think Cleo is waiting for the right time. She seems very strategic to me.
3. I hadn’t thought of that, but now I am.
4. It makes sense why he has been lurking and mysterious all this time.
5. I think an element of both.
6. Yes, it made sense for the drama. I think her realm has something he needs. He doesn’t seem interested in her romantically.
7. No
8. It makes sense since Nightshades and Wildlings are the least liked. Partly because they did abandon Lightlark and live in isolation.
9. I think it was just a part of Lightlark’s charm. It could have been the ancestors of Wildlings.
10. This was a plot twist I did not anticipate. Unsure why no one has ever seen it yet.
11. I think Celeste hardly trusts anyone. Either that, or she is afraid of Isla teaming up with someone else.
12. I don’t know. I think it could be in the castle.
13. Annoying.
14. He is a mystery. I think Isla misses him and wants to be around him more.
15. I think he is just venting because they abandoned Lightlark and he felt sad from them leaving.

🥀 Feels like a fated magical pull, not just a crush.
🥀 If Cleo knows, she is saving it as leverage and waiting for the right moment.
🥀 Very likely, their secrets feel connected in a dangerous way.
🥀 Tragic and suspicious, and it explains his urgency.
🥀 Both, he needed to reveal it and see who would stand with him.
🥀 Not surprising, she is powerful, unpredictable, and he is clearly intrigued.
🥀 No, that reads more like suppressed feelings and frustration.
🥀 Sounds like old prejudice based on a one sided history.
🥀 Feels intentional, like magic or something guiding her.
🥀 It shows he wants to fix the root problem, not just survive.
🥀 Either she knows more than Isla does or she does not trust him at all.
🥀 Probably hiding in plain sight somewhere meaningful.
🥀 Lots of tension, reluctant teamwork, and obvious sparks.
🥀 His absence feels deliberate, and the dream feels like a real connection.
🥀 Harsh, but shaped by his past and perspective.
