I was furious when I read that scene.
To prove to Cleo that she can trust him and work with him to find the heart.
He is always protecting her and I love it.
It did cross my mind.
Grim has always shown Isla that she can trust him, I’m glad she has him in such a terrible moment.

🖤 When Isla starts thinking she has Oro, Celeste, and Grim on her side, I immediately felt nervous. It feels too steady for this book. Nothing ever stays calm for long. I do think she probably has more people quietly watching or even supporting her, but I don’t think anyone’s loyalty comes without strings attached.
🖤 Oro wanting to switch pairs didn’t feel random at all. It felt intentional. He always has a reason(or atleast I want him to have a valid reason😅) Whether it was strategy or something more personal, it definitely wasn’t a careless decision.
🖤 When Oro revealed Isla’s secret, I understood why he did it, but i was very unimpressed, I was about to riot. However It felt like he was trying to protect her in his own way, so that was atleast something, but it also changed the trust between them a little, which is understandable, I don’t like people telling my secrets either.
🖤 Grim taking her away felt immediate and protective. He didn’t hesitate. It showed how quickly he acts when it comes to her, and that intensity says a lot. (My man’s said let’s get gone!!🤭)
🖤 I didn’t expect teleportation to be his flair, but it fits him perfectly. He’s always appearing and disappearing like Houdini when you least expect it, so it makes sense.
🖤 In Chapter 39, the trust between everyone felt more fragile. Not completely broken, but definitely shaken. You can feel the tension building.
🖤 That dream of Grim didn’t feel like just a dream. It was too real and too emotional. It made their connection feel deeper, but also a little unsettling.
🖤 I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Grim is somehow sending those dreams 👀 It feels possible, especially with how strong his powers seem to be.

🖤 Celeste still searching for the bondbreaker makes me think it’s something bigger than a simple object. Especially if Oro has never even heard of something that powerful. That feels important.
🖤 Isla getting drunk at the Caramel celebration felt chaotic but also kind of refreshing. Her interaction with Oro there felt softer and more honest, and very friecken adorable 🥰

🖤 I’m still not completely convinced Cleo poisoned Celeste. It feels almost too obvious, but at the same time, nothing is simple in this book.

1. I do believe Isla has more people in her corner. However, quantity does not always mean quality.
