🐞 Celeste honestly seems a bit sketchy to me, but if it isn’t her having a secret plan, then I think she just doesn’t want Grim to ruin her and Isla’s plan.
🐞the bond breaker definitely sounds way too good to be true. I don’t think anyone would have made that in the past knowing the power that it would hold.
🐞I don’t think it’ll be that easy to actually find the bond breaker, and I think that they might run into trouble.
🐞I’ll say that the king’s skill was actually just that unmatched.

🌸 They do have a plan in place so that both of them survive but I feel like Celeste is a bit obsessive with Isla and their friendship.
🌸 Honestly, isn’t it always to good to be true. It can’t be that easy because why hasn’t anyone else tried it?
🌸 It doesn’t seem like a good idea knowing that it will be in one of the libraries. There should be a reason for it being hard to find.
🌸 I still can’t place the King or Azul. We are only starting to get to know the characters so it could even be a setup.

1. Celeste seems to be mistrusting, especially towards Grim. Her caution seems a bit suspicious to me and it feels as if Celeste is trying to keep Isla controlled.
2. The bondbreaker is a simple solution to a problem that has existed for multiple, long years. If Isla and Celeste were able to become aware of its existence, surely other rulers from previous ages would have fought to find it, too? It does sound too good to be true as there is no easy way to break a curse that seems to be so complex.
3. It’s a precarious plan that may lead them nowhere, in my opinion 🙈 Perhaps the bondbreaker is there, but its properties may not be what they expect…
4. The fight between the king and Azul ended rather fast and I do wonder if it was the skill difference or if there was a reason why Azul allowed himself to be beat that quick 🤔 Maybe he did it on purpose?
5. Isla is definitely intrigued by Grim’s presence and person 🤭 Girlie wants Grim and I don’t even blame her LOL.
6. Grim isn’t one to do things without motive, and the duel with Isla is no exception. I think he wanted to duel her, to get her riled up and perhaps show her strengths to her enemies. This, of course, is a theory that Grim has bad intentions. If I were to think of another reason, he might have just been protecting Isla from other rulers. Maybe he knows that some people have harmful tricks up their sleeves with Isla being their target.
7. I think gaining the king’s attention could result in a good or bad experience for Isla. He seems to be severely cold, malicious and haunted so I wonder if his interest has a positive/negative motive. Only time will tell!
8. Celeste has this sly edge to her that makes me doubtful that she has Isla’s best interest at heart. Not to mention, when Isla randomly appeared in Celeste’s presence I found it a bit odd that she was so accepting of Isla. I have my doubts about her, but hopefully Celeste is a trustworthy friend 🙈🙈
9. It is incredibly sus that the Sunlings are separating themselves…It seems that they are preparing for something that may bring dangerous implications to the realms.
10. The Moonlings are so obvious, like what? 😭 Stationing guards outside 24/7…which just shows that they clearly feel threatened or that they need to protect themselves from a threat that still has to show itself…Maybe they’re teaming up with the Sunlings and are preparing to do something crazy?
11. I was KICKING MY FEET 🙈🙈🤭 *Debby Ryan hair tuck* (if you know you know). I absolutely can see myself shipping Grim and Isla, however I have trust issues with fantasy novels 😭 I have a worry that Grim isn’t the main love interest, but if he is, I AM SO HERE FOR IT.
12. All the displays were quite tame, in my opinion. I wonder if all the rulers are keeping their cards close to their chests. King Oro’s display of power did not impress me, though (am I the drama? 🙈). I expected more than that…😭
13. Everything Isla is doing is putting a target on her back at this point 💀 Girl does not know how to stay lowkey. I do love that she has the confidence and attitude to create ripples that may or may not harm her in the future, though. The demonstration was great and I believe the shock of Isla’s actions will place a shadow over the fact that she did not show her powers. But, again, that shadow will move on soon.
14. Oh I love Juniper! Juniper’s character will definitely allow Isla to become more intimate with the possible truths that Lightlark hides. Perhaps it will aid in her plans with Celeste or force her to develop a new perception of her reality altogether. I have a feeling that Isla will get caught up and trade a secret that will end with her facing the blade of betrayal…
15. Her fear is powerful in the sense of her reality. She lived a life where she was held captive and going back to that existence is horrifying. Imagine experiencing these new adventures and you have to go back to a small room where all your journeys exist in books you have read multiple times? It may not be a terrifying fear, but it is definitely a crippling horror for Isla.

1) Celeste is only looking out for Isla – they know very little about Grim, and I think because he is a Nightshade there is some level of uncertainty about him, his intentions and maybe he could be bad news? The general Nightshade reputation, that is.
2) It definitely does – surely others (who have been around much longer) would know about it and be looking for it.
3) I think it seems inconspicuous – two girls spending time in libraries so maybe it’s a good idea… not sure if they’ll actually find it that way though.
4) It could be that Azul wasn’t too keen on besting the king – just like Isla he’s playing it safe in the beginning.

She has also been trained to be rigid and this felt out of character for her to not fight against it. But again, it was a valid internal fear.

2. No, I think it’s real. I just think it demands more than they realise and that’s why it’s never been used before. Or it already has been used and is now a useless relic.

• I completely understand her fear , It’s a terrible way to spend your life, empty and lonely and having her face it now is the perfect fuel she needs to try as hard as she can in the trials to survive and break their curse, even if it scares her every step of the way.

🖤 A part of it feels like Celeste is trying to protect her, but maybe there is some jealousy? Maybe Celeste does have an agenda.
🖤 I do think so – I think one of the other rulers would have figured out how to use it if it did what they say it does.
🖤 I think it’s definitely better than the plan of trying to make Oro fall in love with Isa.
🖤 I think the second point for sure. It seems like there’s an unspoken rule that in direct conflict, you shouldn’t best the king.
🖤 That feels like a very natural response to something that might seem sexy to her? She definitely feels some sort of pull to Grim.
🖤 I think a lot of what Grim does has an ulterior motive. I think there is a lot of unspoken games he is playing, and Isla is a piece in that puzzle.
🖤 I think the plan set out by her guardians could work? But I also think sometimes there’s value in hiding in plain sight.
🖤 I think Isla is young, and she needed someone who didn’t see her as a means to an end. But I do think the plan they’ve created (Isla and Celeste) could be selfish and risk unnecessary innocent lives.

🖤 It was definitely both. She got through without anyone suspecting her, but it made her a threat, and that’s the opposite of what her plan called for.
🖤 I think Juniper will do what serves himself best. But I think he could share things that definitely shook up Lightlark for the right price.
