Onyx Storm Day Eleven

Once battle orders have been shared, Aaric tells Violet that she needs to protect Dunne’s temple. Do you think he has the same signet as Melgren?

As the pages go by we learn more and more about Violet and Theophanie. It seems they are both connected by Dunne. What do you Theophanie was before she turned venin. Do you think she was a priestess? What do you think made her make the trade?

At the end of Chapter Fifty-Two the irids have come to save the day. Do you think that the Aretian riot would have won if the wards did not go up?

Did you think that Andarna would leave Violet? Who else do you think she is connected to?

We learn that Violet was dedicated to Dunne by her parents. Why do you think they did it in the first place and why do you think they never completed it?

War is still on the horizon and things aren’t looking great with the Navvarians fighting Tyrrendor for more soldiers. It seems like the weight of the world is on Violet and Xaden’s shoulders. Do you think we will see Xaden cave and pull power from the earth before the book is done?

What favour do you think Dunne will grant Violet and Xaden? Do you think they will use it to save Xaden?

I think Aaric has been keeping his signet very close to his heart but there have been a number of Easter eggs throughout this book that I really do think he can see the future.

I think Theophanie was a priestess who craved power and wanted to have unlimited access to it.

I think they would have lost and our favourite characters would seize to exist. The irids most definitely saved the day! I truly didn’t believe Andarna would have left Violet and when she did and that bond was broken I just sat there staring at nothing with so many questions. This scene broke my heart!

I think Violet’s parents knew what was to come and were trying to protect her the best way they could.. I think they ran out of time and didn’t get a chance to complete her dedications.

Knowing Rebecca, he will most likely turn in this book to try and save the day regardless of how it will affect him and the emotional damage it will do long term.

Possibly marriage to help Xaden with Tyrrendor.

Maybe he does, so far what I’ve read could be possible.

I think she was a priestess who wanted power.

No I don’t think they would have.

I never thought Andarna would leave Violet that was so heartbreaking to read.

I think they did that to seek protection but there must have been a change in circumstances.

I think something we don’t want happening is going to, so probably.

If they do use it to save Xaden there could be unforeseen circumstances such as binding them to dunne’s services.

    1. Aaric’s actions seemed different in this book. I didn’t know what to think, just that he was keeping it a secret.

    2. Definitely a priestess based on her hair color and her reaction in these scenes. I’m starting to wonder if she’s similar to Vi, in the sense that she wanted to save someone who had turned but couldn’t, and lost herself in the process as well. Maybe shunned by the very people she dedicated her life to. Could easily result in hatred and resentment and want more power to never be weak again.

    3. No, I really thought she would stay after everything they said to her in the Isles.

    4. I think Vi was born weaker and they thought that her dedication would return some her strength. They likely did not go through with it given the uncertainty of her future and also maybe how similar to Theophanie’s it could be.

    5. Definitely. With such powerful enemies and a lack of cooperation internally, they’re going to find themselves in a pickle and Xaden will do it to keep Vi safe.

    6. I really hope so. Up until this point, the gods seem way more arbitrary than they actually are, so I am keen to see how this unfolds.

I think that Aaric has the same signet, why else would he tell Violet to protect the temple. He wouldn’t have said that if he didn’t know something.

I think Theophanie was a priestess, it would explain why she knows so much. What do most of the people crave in this book, power or being in control. So maybe she wanted more and when the opportunity presented itself, she couldn’t resist.

The moment when the Irids arrived!! So much happened here that left me emotional. I don’t think they would have made it and this scene would have been worse than it already is.

I have no doubt that Andarna will leave Violet willingly. That scene was just terrible, I couldn’t believe it. I do wonder what they told her when the bond between her and Violet went quiet.

Perhaps her parents realized the path that is destined for Violet would be difficult, I don’t know. But something or someone might have stood in their way to complete the dedication.

Being who he is, Xaden will do anything to protect Violet, so I think he’ll channel again. But mainly to protect Violet and the others.

Violet will use it without a doubt if it means it would save Xaden. I do hope that he can be saved, otherwise hope is a fickle thing and we are in for emotional damage.

I think Aaric has a signet similar to Melgren.

The reason to trade to Venin is that they want more power, so Thephanie traded for more power, the forehead tattoo would make me think she may have been a priestess.

The battle would have gone on for much longer with more casualties if the Irids hadn’t arrived.

Violet’s dad wanted Violet dedicated and he did it on his own, why it wasn’t completed I’m not sure why.

If Violet is in danger and not winning Xaden will pull power to save her.

There has been foreshadowing on marriage throughout the book so maybe a marriage.

I believe Aaric has kept his signet incredibly close and secret, so I do think there is a big possibility that he has the same signet.

I think Theophanie must have been a priestess who perhaps sought something she couldn’t get her hands on in the conventional way?

I don;’t think they would have made it without them. The irids definitely turned the tide!

No. But Andarna breaking the bond might very well be the worst heartbreak I have ever experienced. I do understand why this happened, Andarna deserves it, but that doesn’t make it sting any less seeing her leave!

I believe Violet’s parents foresaw what was coming and did everything in their power to protect her. I would assume ran out of time or that someone might have interfered.

    Yes. I think he will.

I assume to bond them in some way?
