Now we can only hope the bond between our daughters is strong enough to endure the paths they’ve chosen – Onyx Storm page 205
In Chapter Twenty-One, the new task force make their way to Cordyn before heading to Deverelli. Do you think the riders are truly prepared to be cut off from their powers? Do you think they will regain it once they reach land?
We quickly learn that Violet is the only rider still able to communicate with her dragons. Why do you think she retains this ability?
Violet finds Narelle in her bookstore and after a small altercation and questions, Violet gets the books her father left her. What do you make of Asher having written the books? Do you think Violet’s father chose all the questions or were some of them up to Narelle?
These chapters seem to be a bit slower than the rest, although there is still the urgency to find the cure for Xaden and to get rid of the venin. What do you think of the Deverelli King wanted to keep Halden? Do you think the squad will be able to free him?
What are your thoughts on Onyx Storm so far?

I don’t think they are truly prepared and I believe that it is going to be a true shock to their system to feel so isolated from their dragons. If there is no magic in the land, they will not be able to communicate with their dragons.
Irids have already been such a sought after dragon, that their species must be able to override certain magical constraints.
I think testing her was important because it also helped show the others the truth that is out there and they must not be so naive as to ignore it. I definitely think some of the questions were her own.
I think Halden is a walking red flag and although the king acted the way he did, no one deserves to be kept like they are someone’s property. Knowing this squad, they will most definitely be able to free him.

They might struggle to be cut off from their powers and unable to communicate with their dragons.
Her connection to her dragons could be different and stronger from the other riders especially because of Andarna.
It shows Asher and Violet’s father had a deeper connection and he might have knowledge that could help Violet at some point.
I’m curious to see how this is going to affect the story going forward and I do think they will be able to free him.
I’m enjoying the story so far, especially the cliffhangers after each chapter.Excited to see what’s more to come.

1. I don’t think they’re prepared! It’s such a big part of them, and I think they also rely on their powers alot so it’s bound to feel weird.
2. It’s so interesting! I think it may to due to the fact that Andarna is an Irid and they reside in the isles!
3. Definitely Narelle as well! That entire scene had me snorting with laughter! It’s so interesting that Asher was able to predict so much about what Vi would do.
4. I can’t help but wonder why he would want to keep Halden (unless it was for ransom and I missed that) but I definitely think they will be able to get him back!

I don’t think the riders are prepared to be cut off from their powers, since it’s such a large part of them. Not being able to communicate with their dragons, it’s like calling into the void. I think once they return to land, their powers will return.
I think it has to do with Andarna, or perhaps because she has a bond with two dragons.
The books her father left is definitely interesting and it shows that he had a feeling he might not be there to help prepare Violet. I think the questions was a mix and some of them are from Narelle.
The Deverelli King wanting to keep Halden, he is definitely with the right squad since they will never leave anyone behind.
So far it’s been an emotional rollercoaster, but I am enjoying it. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I don’t think they will ever truly be prepared for what is to come, and for the isolation they will feel.
I like to think Andarna plays a role in Violet being able to still communicate. Or maybe it vould be since she is bonded to two dragons so her power is much stronger?
That’s an interesting question to think about. I believe Asher and Violet’s father must have had a very good bond/friendship. I’m curious if Asher will play a bigger role as this story progresses.
When it comes to this squad, I have no doubt they will try to free him.
So far I am having so much fun!

I don’t think the riders or dragons are prepared to be cut off from each other. They’ll only gain it back on land that has magic.
I think it has something to with Andarna that she can still communicate wiht her dragons.
I think both Asher and Narelle chose the question together.
I’m not sure why the King kept Halden. The squad will find a way to free him.I am loving Onyx storm meeting new characters exploring the Isles, it been a journey and will continue to be one.
