The priestess also mentions to Violet that she had started walking the path of Dunne. What do you think the priestess meant?
Do you think Violet wielded when she has Marlis pinned down?
Marlis will only go to war for one thing, dragons. It seems that everyone that does not have one wants one. Do you think the Empyrean will cave at some point and offer their dragons to aid the war?
When we are first introduced to Xaden’s mother it is almost in passing. Xaden seems to say in Iron Flame that there is no love lost because his mother never really cared for him. His father and mother’s marriage was one based on duty and once an heir was born and survived, his mother wanted nothing else. What assumptions did you have of Xaden’s mother in Iron Flame?
What do you make of us meeting her in Onyx Storm on Hedotis? Talia has started a whole family while she had abandoned her first son. Xaden does agree to the dinner but more so for what the riders can gain from the information. Do you think he will change his mind about his mother and give her a chance?
Do you think Violet will be able to save Xaden before he truly transforms knowing now that the cravings for power have started?
It becomes clear in Chapter Thirty-Five that the triumvirate are goading the riders and the fliers into becoming emotional and to fail their test of wisdom. What do you make of Talia making the chocolate cake and poisoning the group. Or at least attempting to poison the group? Garrick seems to be the only one who has fallen prey to the attempt. Why do you think they did this?

I think the priestess is able to judge a persons character very quickly and ascertains who needs to be tested in this trial to prove themselves.
I believe the priestess must be referencing Violet being dedicated some how to Dunne. And Violet most definitely wielded, Andarna’s power is like no other.The Emperyan seem to be hell bent on not trading dragons, but I suppose war can make you do things you normally wouldn’t bend to.
I thought his mother was quite heartless doing what she did to Xaden, her own happiness is all she worried about. I doubt Xaden will change his mind, she did what she did and left him behind which no parent should ever do.
I don’t think Violet will be able to save Xaden, we still have two more books at least so we may have to wait a while.
Let’s be honest, I would have done exactly the same thing that Garrick did in that situation. I think they did that so they could try have the upper hand and force them into some sort of agreement or as a way to protect themselves from the dangers of their dragons.

The priestess probably chose them to see how they work together and to assess their strengths and weaknesses.
It could be about violets future and how she’s connected to so much more.
I don’t think they would offer the dragons because no one can control a dragon unless the dragons want to do that.
I thought she was selfish for abandoning Xaden. He did not deserve to go through that especially at such a young age.
I think it’s a possibility that he could give her another chance some day.I don’t think she could save him in this book. I have a feeling it’ll be in the next.
It was shocking. It’s possible she wanted to poison the entire group.

1. The priestess chose them to assess their strengths and weaknesses. It wasnt very clear to me but they probably have a great judge of character and used that to decide who would fight!
2. Vi clearly has some relation to Dunne and she might have been on her way to being initiated in Dunne’s temple. Seeing as her dad visited the Isles before, it’s possible she was with him.
3. Dragons are such proud creatures. I highly doubt they would do it because they would deem is below them.
4. I got the sense that she left almost immediately after he was born which is why he didn’t seem to think much about her.
5. I thought her actions were selfish. As Xaden said, she left him in the middle of a rebellion and seemed to me like she didn’t care whether he lived or died. I think when it comes to a parent, every child clings to the hope that they are wanted so I think he might.
6. Honestly, it’s anyone’s guess at this point
7. It felt like a superiority flex in all honestly. Like they wanted to show that they were better. I thought it just cemented the fact that she’s cruel and really doesn’t care about Xaden as much as she wants to believe.

I think that the priestess knows more than she is letting on, and that is why she chose Xadein, Dain and Violet. When the priestess said Violet is starting to walk the path of Dunne, I found it very interesting. I think she is embracing her power and the path that is meant for her. She might have been initiated, gathering from the previous texts that her father visited the temple.
I think that Violet did wield.
I don’t think the Empyrean will ever trade their dragons, but they might aid in the war along with the dragons and their riders.
I didn’t really think of Xaden’s mother, since she wasn’t really a part of his life. She did hurt him by not being there, so I didn’t really much care for her in Iron Flame. Now that we meet her in Onyx Storm, and see that she has a family, I feel so bad for Xaden. I can just imagine how he must have felt. He might warm up to her, but I don’t think they will have a mother and son bond.
I don’t think that Violet will be able to save Xaden, to be honest. I think that is now too late.
The attempt at poisoning tells me one thing, Talia had a plan and that she wants to get rid of Xaden, especially.

I think it is the Priestess’ way to determine how well these three could work together. It would be an easy way to judge their characters.
I assume Violet has some or other connection to Dunne and this is why she brought it up?
Yes, I think so.
That’s an interesting one to ponder on. The Empyrean doesn’t really strike me as the type to offer their dragons to aid in the war, but I think that also depends on the extremities of the war and how much it would impact the Empyrean.
I honestly thought his mother was being selfish for not even trying with Xaden. All she thought about was herself and had no regards to her son which is disgusting.
I don’t see Xaden changing his mind on this one. His mother abandoned him, that’s not something I see him letting go of easily.
No, I have a gut feeling that will not happen.
What Talia did does not sit right with me.
