Sometimes diplomacy is best served at sword pointOnyx Storm page 234

We’ve come to learn that Halden has ruined negotiations with Deverelli due to having sticky fingers. Is this something you expected?

It seems neither Halden nor Xaden are able to negotiate with Courtlyn. How do you think it was possible for Xaden to channel on the Isle?

Violet seems to have come a long way from the scribe she would’ve been. Would you agree that she is a formidable force?

In Chapter Twenty-Eight, we finally interact with some of the original professors and seems like Carr is much tougher than before. Do you think the other riders and professors should have stopped Carr from killing the second year?

What do you think of Xaden’s eyes not returning to the completely normal state?

Aaric has finally decided to join the squad. We all can agree that he will be a much better royal representative. What do you think of this moment where he chooses to reveal to his brother that he is a rider?

Why do you think Mira is being distant with Violet? Is it because of her father’s books that he has given only to Violet, or did she learn something? What do you think their Grandma Niara knows?

What do you think the reveal at the end of Chapter Thirty means?

Arggg *rolls eyes* Halden really does act like an impertinent child. I’m not even surprised that he did what he did. He has no sense of consequence and will put anyone’s life at risk.

Xaden must have been able to use Violet’s conduit as she is able to hold magic in there.
Violet has had so much character growth and development. I love that she is able to think like a scribe and act like a rider, combining the best of both quadrants.

I suppose they are all living in fear of the venin, so it’s a fight or flight response.

Xaden’s eyes not returning is just a sign of him progressing more and more to venin, which is incredibly worrying.

Aaric finally has the self confidence to step out of the shadows and represent the royals for the benefit of his people.

I think Mira is keeping her distance as a result of finding out information from her grandmother that may affect Violet and a small part of her feeling left out by her father.

Honestly I’m not surprised. He seems like someone who thinks they know everything yet makes wrong choices.

That’s a good question that I’m still trying to figure out lol.

I do agree. She’s intelligent like a scribe and brave, strong and powerful like a rider.

In his point of view I’m sure it was his way of wanting to toughen up the students and prepare them for danger they will face and everyone else could see that also.

It makes me nervous because what if someone sees his eyes that way, especially someone who doesn’t like him!!!

Really proud of him for standing up for himself and what he believes is right.

It could be because of both reasons.

The end of chapter 30 opens up so many questions!

    1. Not surprised by Halden. He’s very entitled and his behavior reflects that. He’s so arrogant, it’s infuriating!

    2. Venin channel magic from the Earth itself, so seeing as he is still connected to the Earth, he can still channel.

    3. 100%. Her intelligence makes her dangerous. She’s able to utilize her strengths to overcome her weaknesses.

    4. It’s difficult. I don’t think so, because Xaden is an example of how people can still retain their senses (even though he might be an exception). Problem is, it’s difficult to test this theory when Xadens Venin state is a secret. Kind of feels like there a double standard to how others who have turned Venin are dealt with by the people they know. I get why it needs to be kept a secret but how many others could be saved if they’re able to temporarily imprison them until a cure is possibly found.

    5. He’s slipping and channeling more. It’s only a matter of time until he’s moved to the next stage and consumed busy it.

    6. I’ve been waiting for the moment and I loved how shocked Halden was by it! I actually wish we could have reveled in that moment abit longer.

    7. Gosh I am so curious about what Mira learned! I think she feels as though Brennan and Violet were guided by their parents and had their parts to play and she feels abit lost because they haven’t left her anything specific. It’s a tough because she likely feels overlooked.

    8. We’re might be finally getting closer to some answers about Violet!

I did expect something to happen, so Halden just proved me right.

Xaden must have had access to some kind of conduit to be able to channel and the only person I can think of is Violet.
Violet is for sure unstoppable and not to be messed with. She has surprised me in every way and I think her father would have been proud.

I think Carr knows the level of danger they are all up against, so acted out of that. At this point, it’s so difficult to make wise choices not based on emotions.

Xaden’s eyes not returning to normal is a definite sign that he is turning more and more. He is starting to lose control.

I think the moment Aaric revealed to his brother that he is a rider was important since it’s time to have all secrets out in the open.

I think it’s a mix of both. Mira perhaps feels like she is an outsider and not as important, but Grandma Niara must have shared some information with Mira that she is unsure about.

The ending of chapter 30 is enough to make you forget about all responsibilities and just continue reading!

First of all, Ridoc looks AMAZING in this artwork🥵

Yes, I had a feeling this is something Halden would do. So I’m really not surprised.

Definitely. Violet is the best of both worlds, she has the knowledge of the scribes whilst being a powerful dragon rider.

I’m not 100% sure. On the one hand I want to say yes, they should have and yet on the other hand I feel it’s preparing everyone for what’s to come.

I AM STRESSED. This means he’s sinking further to venin.

I’m quite proud of Aaric. It could not have been easy to do.

I think Mira found something out, some information and as a result she’s keeping her distance from Violet.

Aaric and Violet don’t have high praise for Halden, but sticky fingers was not on my radar.
Xaden just needs power to channel and the alloy provide that power.
Violet has been awesome in this book, she annoyed me a bit in Iron flame
I don’t think Prof Carr had any thoughts at the time he just acted as I.m sure he’s kill done many intrinsic.
The more he channels the less his eyes are going to return to the normal state.
He may have been concerned what his brother rection would be, but i think he is proud of his achievement as a rider, and so he should be.
I think Mira is being distant because her farther only left the books to Violet.
The silver hair may mean something about Theophanie.
