I am yours and you are mine, and there’s no law or rule in this world or the next that will change that – Onyx Storm page 122

We learn in Chapter Eleven that Andarna is an irid scorpiontail. What do you think the venin want with Andarna?

Theophanie has made it clear that she wants to be Violet’s teacher. Do you think that both she and Xaden will fold and join the venin? Considering that this venin has silver hair much like Violet and can also control lightening?

Do you think the venin have an idea what Violet’s second signet is, and do you think it has to do with her being called a “leash”?

Xaden hints that his dragons and those of the other marked children were sought out. Do you think it is because the dragons knew of the war coming and were trying their best to arm the fighters? Or do you think it was for another reason?

Jack mentions that Sages and Mavens are undetectable and that someone at Basgiath might be a traitor. Who do you think it is?

At the start if Chapter Thirteen, we read that Jesinia has failed her scribe exams. Is it safe to assume it is because she believes in sharing the truth while Markham believes in weaving the lie?

Chapter Thirteen contains a lot of information, from learning Jesinia is now under Grady’s supervision to the confirmation that Sages and Mavens have signets. And perhaps the biggest surprise of them all, Xaden is now a professor. How do you think this will change how Violet and Xaden interact but also how the other cadets interact with him. Do you think this puts him at risk?

What do you think of Grady’s task force? Do you think he chose a team that will be successful? Considering that they are all Navarrians who did not defect, what do you think of Aura keeping a close eye on Violet. Do you think this resentment will fade away?

Do you think Xaden’s technique of teaching the young riders will be effect?

Chapter Fifteen ends with Violet going up against Xaden. Do you think she has a shot?

I think the irid species must hold some untapped power because why else would they be hidden somewhere in the continent?! And we know the venin crave that type of power.

Not a chance would Violet and Xaden fold just to gain some extra knowledge from Theophanie’s teachings. They do not crave power like the venin do.

I don’t think the venin know what her second signet is, but I believe that because she is also bonded to Andarna as an irid species, that they believe her second signet will be extremely powerful and help them long term.

I think the dragons are an extremely bright species as a whole and they probably had some sort of inkling or possibly even a prophecy about what is to come?!

Honestly the traitor has to be someone high up in order for all the leaked information to be able to get out. I have no idea who it could be at this stage.

Oh definitely they failed her on purpose as a form of punishment.

According to the codex, Violet and Xaden will have to keep their distance, failure to do so will result in him being fired. I think they should adhere to the code because they will at least be able to still see each other and not have to worry about Xaden so much as he is protected by the wards.

I think Grady’s task force is an absolute joke.. it’s definitely a form of punishment once again. These riders do not know each other nor have a relationship therefore they do not have any trust built up as their foundation.

Yes, I believe his teaching method is extremely clever in helping them spot weaknesses and become even stronger and smarter in their moves.
I think Violet can definitely hold her own!

She probably has unique abilities and the venin want to use her for that.

I do not think they would join the venin at all. I do think they would want to get more answers from Theophanie though.

I do not think they know what her second signet is but they probably have theories to what it is because she is bonded to Andarna.

I think the dragons had foreknowledge about the war and were trying their best to arm the fighters.

I have no clue who it could be but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s someone we would least expect.

They definitely failed her on purpose because they probably feel she’s a threat.

Xaden being a professor now and him and Violet not being able to have a relationship definitely makes things harder and could cause issues.
He will have to interact with the other cadets more professionally ( including his friends) which could be interesting to see.

I do not think his team will be successful.
Aura keeping a close eye to Violet could be because of jealousy or resentment and it will only get solved if they communicate about it.

I do think it will be effective.
Violet definitely has a shot at being Xaden.

    1. I believe the Venin are afraid of Andarna’s powers. She might be the key to defeating them.

    2. Xaden and Violet love each other in a way that’s almost toxic. Xaden turning was a result of an innate need to protect Violet. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that Violet may turn as well, in an attempt to protect Xaden. The Venin will use this against them to get what they want.

    3. I don’t think they do, mainly because it doesn’t seem to have manifested yet. I think that Vi being called a lesh is more to describe her as a means to get Xaden to submit.

    4. Surely the dragons have known the truth for a while? Either that or they suspected. Either way, I believe they sought out the marked ones so that they could better prepare them for what was coming.

    5. At this stage, I almost feel like Colonel Aetos might be the traitor. His vendetta against Vi, even though she might be their best chance in the war, is making him seem quite shady.

    6. Definitely! Markham must have punished her for defecting.

    7. I don’t really think it will change their relationship because they’re so defiant… I do think that others might try to use this against them. I also don’t think Xaden is at risk by teaching.

    8. Aura’s beliefs seem so cemented so unless Vi can win her trust and respect (like she did with Cat), I don’t think it will change. I think Grady’s task force is doomed to fail because they all don’t know each other and creating a new team dynamic quickly is difficult!

    9. I think so! I quite liked his approach, and I think it focuses on the real issues riders will face on the battlefield.

    10. Definitely! Vi has proven that she shouldn’t be underestimated. I just don’t think she’d do anything to intentionally hurt Xaden

I think there is definitely something that the venin want with Andarna, her power or perhaps her scales?
The fact that Theophanie also has silver hair and can wield lighting makes me nervous, but I don’t think Violet and Xaden will join the venin out of their own.

I believe it’s because Jesinia wants to share the truth, now is the most important time.
I can’t believe Xaden is a professor! I think this will affect their relationship, but not in a bad way. It will only strengthen their bond. I think he is less at risk at this moment.

Grady’s team, I don’t know. There’s too much bad energy between them and Aura really has it out for Violet. Unless Violet does something drastic like save Aura’s life, I don’t think the resentment will fade.

I believe that Xaden’s technique of teaching will be effective.

It’s hard to go up against someone you love, and holding back is easy because you don’t want to hurt them. But I think Violet has learned a lot and has a shot.

The venin knows more about Violet than they let on, especially with Theophanie knowing about Violet.
I believe the dragons knew about the war, but it might also mean something else. You never know 😅

I still don’t like Dain and think that either he or his father might be the traitor.

We already know that Andarna is powerful, so my guess is that they are after some power or capability that we have yet to be introduced to.

No. Absolutely not. They are nothing like the venin and I do not see Violet and Xaden siding with them, even if it is just to gain access to new information. They will find other ways.

I don’t think they know what it is, my theory is that while they don’t know what it is they’re still after it since they know how powerful she is because of the dragons she is bonded with.

From what we have learned throughout this series is that these dragons hold a trove of knowledge, a lot that they do not share with their bonded humans. So I think somewhere they might have had some kind of suspicion at the very least. They’re centuries old dragons, surely they know more than they let on.

I fear I am not smart enough to figure out who it might be, though I would assume it would be someone with a high ranking? I’m just hoping it’s no one I love in this book.

Without a doubt, yes. They failed her because of the stance she proudly takes.

I definitely think Xaden being a professor puts him at risk. I’m curious to see how this will affect his relationship with Violet and his friends, especially with the codex rules in play.

If you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all, lol. None of these riders compliment each other (they don’t know each other, have never worked together).

Yes. I think his techniques will benefit them greatly.

Violet has grown a lot since Fourth Wing, so I definitely think she can stand a chance against Xaden, after all, she did learn quite a few moves from Xaden, which certainly puts her at an advantage.

I think they want Andarna because her power is different, They may want to use her for their own purposes.
I don’t think Violet will join the Venin, Xaden might as he already is, but his love for Violet may change that.
No I don’t think they know what Violets second signet is, I think they want her for her power.
Yes I do think the dragons sought out the marked one’s as some have second signets which gives them more power to protect the empryrean.
I think Jack is right, there may be more than one traitor.
I don’t think Markham likes her working with Violet and the squad, Markham is not happy Violet become a rider and that she is associating so closely with Jesinia, he made it hard for Jesinia to pass.
I think Xaden being a professor keeps him safe within the wards, so less chance of him channeling. I would be happy with a Professor Rioson teaching me , I think the cadets will respond to him well. It will mean that Violet and Xaden a kept apart more – which Violet means is not happy.
I don’t trust Professor Gardy or anyone that he’s chosen for the team. Aura keeping an eye on Violet is from Conel Aetos keeping an eye on her.
I think Xaden’s teaching is good and will help them to think differntly.
I think Xaden will have fun with Violet.
