Onyx Storm Day Twelve

We learn that Violet was dedicated to Dunne by her parents. Why do you think they did it in the first place and why do you think they never completed it?

War is still on the horizon and things aren’t looking great with the Navvarians fighting Tyrrendor for more soldiers. It seems like the weight of the world is on Violet and Xaden’s shoulders. Do you think we will see Xaden cave and pull power from the earth before the book is done?

What favour do you think Dunne will grant Violet and Xaden? Do you think they will use it to save Xaden?

Violet’s dream-walker abilities are still there. Why do you think she can still dream-walk? Is it because Andarna hasn’t fully disconnected or is it something else?

Brennan thinks he has cracked the code when it comes to battles involving Violet and Xaden. Do you think his plan will be successful?

What sort of information do you think Jack has that could warrant him dead?

Mira lives and we’ve learnt that Sloane can imbue people with power. Things are still hazy but there is hope. Do you want to bet that Violet will stay on course with the plan?

The plan hasn’t exactly gone to… plan. Violet mentions that someone is the best of all of them. Who do you think it is?

This question plagues me.. I’m wondering if they somehow were told what the future entails and that’s why they tried to protect her by getting dedicated?

Knowing Rebecca, she is going to break our heart and make Xaden pull from the Earth turning him full venin.
The favour has to do with somehow saving Xaden’s soul long term but not quite sure how it will play out.

I think once you attain a signet, it remains ingrained in you. But I don’t think Andarna fully separated the bond from Violet.

I think Brennan’s plan is a solid one and I look forward to seeing how it will play out in the end.
I think Violet realises she has to stay on plan in order to ensure everyone has a part to play and to fully trust them in their part. She knows she can’t play hero otherwise all will fall. I think Theophanie is a force to be reckoned with.

    1. I think Vi was born weaker and they thought that her dedication would return some her strength. They likely did not go through with it given the uncertainty of her future and also maybe how similar to Theophanie’s it could be.

    2. Definitely. With such powerful enemies and a lack of cooperation internally, they’re going to find themselves in a pickle and Xaden will do it to keep Vi safe.

    3. I really hope so. Up until this point, the gods seem way more arbitrary than they actually are, so I am keen to see how this unfolds.

    4. This really bugged me. On the surface, it felt like Andarna cut ties (also based on how Vi reacted) but given that she is somehow still able to channel power from Andarna, I’d say it’s not completely severed, which means our favorite teenage dragon will be back.

I do and I love that they call Vi out and insist that she sticks with the plan. As much as they work, I think it throws everyone off when she goes off plan and everyone has to constantly readapt. No plan is foolproof, as we see, and I think that Vi’s ability to think quickly on her feet will help her stick the plan as much as possible whilst still keeping herself and others alive.

I think they did it in the first place to seek protection and never complete it because fear of consequences.

I do think he will have to pull power from the earth.

    I hope so.

I don’t think Andarna fully disconnected from Violet.

If she sticks to it. It could be successful.

He probably knows dark secrets of very important people.

I do think she will stick to the plan if it is possible.

    Could be Xaden.

I believe something or someone happened that caused them to not complete the dedication.

Xaden most definitely will do anything to protect Violet and his friends, as well as his dragon. so I think he’ll channel. But this might cost him more than he bargains for.

I think if it’s up to Voiolet, she will use the favour to save Xaden. And vice versa for Xaden.

I think there is something else that causes her to dream walk. Maybe the power was already gifted to Violet by Andarna, but something else is causing her to dreamwalk. I have a feeling Theophanie or the dedication has something to do with it.

Brennan, I really have no idea. He might mean well, but anything is possible. Just when you think you have something figured out, everything changes, so we will see.

Jack might have information about the venin, Xaden’s cure or Theophanie.

I want to believe that Violet will stay on plan, but if she believes her squad is in danger, she’ll change course to save them.

When Violet says, the best of all of them, I honestly can think of two people – either Xaden or Theophanie.

I think it was a way to protect her. They knew something and needed to find a way to protect their daughter.

Yes, I do. We know Xaden will always put Violet first, and I think he would do it to save/protect her.

Whatever the favour is, I hope it protects them in some way.

Perhaps Andarna and Violet’s bond was stronger than we thought and wasn’t fully severed.

    I hope so.

The delusional person in me hopes it is a cure *cries in the corner*

Dunne is the goddess of war, so they may have dedicated her to protect her in times of war. Something must have happened for them not to complete it.

Yes Xaden will pull power if Violet is in danger.

The sage seems to be controlling this dream as he knows Violet is a dreamwalker, so is it the sage or did Andarna still leave some of her magic behind?

This is the first time we’ve seen Brennan in action and he is supposed to be a very good strategist, so they have more hope than before a plan was formed.

Maybe Jack knows something about the Venin that will help Basgaith and co and that is why they want him dead.

I think Violet will try and stick to the plan, there’s to much at stake this time for her to go off course.

I think Violet is referring to Xaden.
