1. Something similar has definitely happened to me especially when I’m sick. I’m always begging the medication to make me feel better.
2. Milo comes across as a carefree wanderer that definitely does not want to put down roots anywhere. He has an unhealthy attachment to his van Bertha which could possibly be because of his traumatic childhood and his need to be tethered to something.
3. I have an older brother and I’m definitely the stubborn one.
4. He mentions that he finally felt free and couldn’t see himself going back. I think he chose to be selfish and put himself first despite letting his siblings down. He didn’t want to face his childhood any longer.
5. It definitely shows the difference in their lives and upbringing. The contrast helps readers understand both aspects of their lives better as well as their personalities. Milo being carefree and nomadic while Prue doesn’t want to leave her parents alone.
6. Prue desperately wants to take care of her mom the way her mom took care of her all the years. She feels it’s her duty as the only child. Prue describes how close she is to her mom and how they formed an everlasting bond as she was growing up.
7. I love meet-cutes in romance books and although this was not the best on I’ve read, it’s definitely different to Hannah’s other books. I definitely think Milo came across a bit egotistical. Despite Prue saying the shop is closed, he continued to try to get her to notice him. This made Milo seem extremely full of himself especially where females are concerned.
8. Milo describes what Prue’s mom done for him and the fact that she recognises him only shows the impact that Milo had on her as well.
9. Definitely Nadia and Aleks. It’s giving brothers best friend, childhood friends to lovers and second chance. I’m here for it!
10. Nik seems extremely quiet and calm. From the glimpses we’ve got so far, he doesn’t seem anywhere near as affected by their childhood as his siblings are. I might be reaching with this one but I definitely think something is going on and it has nothing to do with the brewery or the pregnancy. On the content warnings page, the last one is cancer diagnosis and my gut says it has something to do with that but I could be wrong.
11. The last line of chapter four perfectly answers this question. -

2.I think that he is interesting, I’m a bit worried about his nomad lifestyle because that usually means a lack of commitment but I like his personality so far

4.You can tell from the get go that Milo and his 2 siblings seemed to have had a really hard childhood, especially where their parents are concerned. My interest in what happened is definitely peaked
5.Prue’s introduction shows how hard her life currently is, a complete opposite to Milo who seems to have suffered a hard childhood and now breezes through life one day at a time, Prue seems to have grown up in a loving home and is now faced with challenges. My heart aches for her
6.I think it’s just her personality, she seems to be a hands on person who struggles giving up control. She’d rather do everything herself
7.Milo is definitely being egotistical, he seems like he’s gone through life being a pretty boy and just expects a certain reaction from woman. Was entertaining to read though
8.I think that Prue’s mom being his art teacher and the person who taught him to love art is going to end up being a sense of comfort to Prue and probably what they going to build a relationship on

I have a childhood teddy and he still means the world to be so yes lol.
He seems like a very fun and living in the moment type of person, I am interested to see a more emotional side to him.

It makes me wonder how the love interests connection is going to form. I can see Milo helping Prue live a more happy, fun life and put herself first and Prue have an impact on Milo facing his feelings.

1. I remember driving to work with my previous car, also begging it not to die in traffic on that day. Or if it struggled to switch on, I promised I would not sell it if it would just start.
2. I loved the way that Milo introduced himself. It was as if he is just unapologetically himself and that he is okay with that. It had me chuckling while reading it.
3. I have a younger brother. Even though I am a naturally stubborn person, he can be as well.
4. I think with the mention of the relationship they had with their parents and their way of growing up, marriage is not something he agrees with. He could not be happy for his brother, so he rather kept his distance.
5. Milo comes across more carefree, whereas when Prue is introduced, you can feel the weight and concern of caring for her mother. She loves her mom, but it’s difficult to accept that she has changed.
6. I think she feels that she would be failing or abandoning her mother. Also accepting help or putting her mom in a facility means that she has accepted what her mom is going through.
7. Again, I get the idea that Milo is confident in who and how he is. I would not say that he came across egotistical, more that he knows what he wants.
8. I think they had a special bond, and Milo was probably like a child to her. Hence her recognising him after years of not seeing each other. It was heartbreaking and I could feel the frustration from her as she recognised him, but could not place him. And Milo feeling the rejection of her not remembering him as she was clearly very important to him.

Definitely – I have had a similar experience with my old computer where it would randomly freeze up or switch off by itself, leaving me unable to save documents I worked on or games where I spent hours making progress.
I like his character and I feel like there’s a lot more to him than what we are shown at the start.
I am an only child so no siblings, but I myself can be stubborn.
It seems like Milo and his siblings had a difficult childhood, so I think he is avoiding his family to protect his peace.
Prue has a lot more happening in her life in terms of family and responsibilities. She also has more contact with her family and a better relationship it seems. Things aren’t easy for her.
It could be that Prue wants to take responsibility for her mother and not let her become dependent on strangers if they end up sending her to a care facility. It is difficult to allow others to take care of your parents when they need it, because when you were younger your parents took care of you and you want to be able to do the same for them.
He does come across as a bit egotistical, yes. It seems like he just expects women to fall into his lap. I still like his character so far though.
I find it quite sad that she recognised him for a moment and that it triggered her to become upset as she probably couldn’t understand the timeline with her thinking it’s her wedding day, but seeing Milo all grown up already which wouldn’t have been the case on her wedding day.

I like Nik. I do however get the idea there is more behind the call for all the siblings to be there together.
I don’t think he meant it when he made that promise – he seems too intrigued by Prue.

1. Yes! Whenever I take migraine medication I almost want to whisper to the medicine to please just fix my whole life!
2. He comes in hot and definitely on the cocky side but his internal thoughts already give an inkling that he may be using his harder exterior to hide his internal pain.
3. It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me.
4. It seems like Milo has been running from his life and his feeling for a while. The reality of being home and facing some of what he has been running from was probably very overwhelming. Sometimes avoidance seems easier than facing the problem.
5. On a superficial level it feels like we’re playing out opposites attract. But I think the contrast is actually 2 versions of the same mask for the characters. They are probably more alike that the external makes it seem.
6. It will make the situation real for her, something she’s been avoiding. It also feels like she’s trying very hard to keep the illusion of the perfect small town family alive. Help may shatter this illusion for her.
7. We love a grumpy meet sunshine moment! He definitely comes across as egotistical but again, my gut tells me it’s part of his facade and Prue is likely to be the one that challenges his protective armor.
8. I love that we’re going to have a bit of an invisible string theory weaved into the story! Almost like Prue and Milo were ment to cross paths no matter what.

Seems like being apart of his own family is a bit difficult for him and maybe that’s why being with them on a special day would be too much for him to handle.
Definitely a vast contrast, Milo comes with life experience while Prue is more sheltered and see life through her parents eyes.
Maybe she feels that she owes so much to her parent that they wouldn’t give up on her and that allowing outside help with her mum is her giving up on her mum.
Oh Yer! Milo came across as a serious cacsanova! But when he saw Prue’s mom that changed rather quickly.
That is was bitter sweet for Prue to be honest as she got a glimpse of her mum but at the same time she recognized a student and not her as the daughter.

1. Oh, absolutely. Usually it’s with the TV remote when the batteries are flat. Normally, I’m sitting there begging it to work while pressing the buttons harder, as if that’ll magically fix it. Anything to avoid replacing the batteries.
2. I think he comes across as this free-spirited, easy-going kind of guy. The kind who’s everyone’s friend and genuinely enjoys his nomadic lifestyle. There’s this effortless charm about him right from the start that makes you feel like he’s fun to be around. But he is clearly masking emotional baggage with this happy-go-lucky vibe

4. I think Milo struggles to deal with emotional situations. Facing his family forces him to confront guilt about not always being there for them, and it’s just easier for him to stay away than deal with that discomfort.
5. Prue immediately feels like Milo’s opposite, she’s organised, grounded, and deeply family-oriented. You can tell she carries a lot of responsibility on her shoulders and that caring for her parents defines so much of her world. It sets up the classic opposites attract dynamic right from the beginning.
6. I think she’d see it as a personal failure if she couldn’t take care of her mom herself. Letting someone else step in would make her feel like she’s not fulfilling her duty and that she’s letting her mom down.
7. Not at all. I think Milo’s just being his charming, flirty self. He saw a beautiful woman, and he was being friendly and playful. It’s light, not arrogant.
8. I think it’s one of those heartbreaking, fleeting moments you see in people with Alzheimer’s. Something about him probably sparked recognition for just a second. It shows how deeply he probably impacted her life once.

I love this introduction – it feels so real and also relatable! I do remember a time when I was running low on fuel and promising to fill my car up with the good stuff too if we made it home!
We learn very quickly who he is, what he’s been doing, how he views himself in the world and I’m preparing for some good character development!
I have a younger sibling who is definitely just as stubborn. I think it’s a younger sibling thing.
I initially thought he just couldn’t make it but he probably didn’t attend because he didn’t feel adequate enough in himself and his achievements to return home after being away from home for so long.
Immediately you see she has quite the opposite family dynamic, especially as she adores her parents and is obviously the small town girl.
I think Prue is resistant to getting help because she would feel guilty – and that would also mean she’s incapable of helping. (Other than the financial aspect)
A very apt meeting – since they’re going to be neighbours for a little while.
Milo is definitely full of himself!I think there’s a big part of the story going to revolve around this recognition. Milo must have been an important student to her too. And I’m looking forward to it!
