From Chapter 74 to Chapter 77 we switch between Dolf and Clarissa’s perspectives. What do you think of everything that went down? From Dolf thinking he had done it to being caught to Clarissa keeping a tight lip on everything until she thought Barnabas had left the safe empty to betray her?
Did you think Paulse would get caught by the police?
Monica got her revenge. Do you think it was worth it?
What do you think of Barnabas’s reveal? Was Denver Fredericks someone you suspected?
What do you think of how the story wrapped up?
In the Epilogue, we learn what happened to the artefacts. What do you think of how they were just thrown aside?

1. This was such poetic justice. Especially on Dolf’s part. I think he was just too confident and think he will get away with it. Clarissa, I felt a little bit bad for because you could see from the start that she was forced into this position and she didn’t want to be part of half of the things, but she had no choice.
2. I certainly hoped so and I am so glad he did.
3. Yes. I think she realized to late what she had and what she lost and I think it was redemption that she wanted on Arend’s sake.
4. He was not. I suspected that it was someone on the force, but he wasn’t my person.
5. I absolutely loved it. The story is fast paced and keeps you captivating. I think what happened to Dolf and Barnabas was justice, a bit to cruel but so perfect in their situation for all they have caused.
6. This was probably the best part. The saying “One man’s trash” and all, I think this was just the icing on the cake. -

1. I felt like Dolf deserved to get caught, he’s been dishonest and a swindler right from the start even in his past with those women from Manchester. As for Clarissa what she did was wrong and she should never have gotten involved with the likes of Barnabas but I feel like she was manipulated and the promise of eventually having a better life in Switzerland clouded her judgement.
2. I had a feeling he would get caught. I can’t say I was sorry about it.
3. Yes it was, she knew she owed it to Arend.
4. I didn’t suspect him at all, I gasped when his identity was revealed!
5. I thought it was a good ending to a fast paced and exciting story. Also justice was served which I thought was a satisfying way to end this case.
6. It was ironic because these artefacts caused mayhem and murder and in the end were left as trash for someone to pick up without even knowing it’s potential value. -

1. The way it was done boggled my mind. I could have never in a million years expected any of what happened to go down the way it did.
2. No, not really. I really thought they’d be too late or that he’d get away.
3. No, firstly, she risked her life, and secondly, she was caught.
4. Not in a million years did I expect Denver Fredericks to be Barnabas. Oh my goodness, they literally spoke to him at the beginning of the investigation.
5. I really enjoyed the book; I thought it was well written, and I certainly didn’t expect what came of the story. The overview of everyone who was mentioned in the story was super cool, and it was a nice touch to end the story and close off and answer all the questions.
6. Super interesting how the treasure at the end of the story was disregarded after everything that happened. It really just comes to show you that at the end of the day one mans trash is another man’s treasure.

1. I think everyone got exactly what they deserved.
2. No, but I am glad he did.
3. Yes. Barnabas deserved death. I am sad that Monica did not manage to escape though. I know she is a criminal who deserved to pay for her crimes, but I still couldn’t help rooting for her.
4. Not at all! I was surprised by this reveal, but in retrospect it makes sense.
5. I think it wrapped up nicely with justice being served in the best ways!
6. That epilogue was so unexpected! I was both frustrated with how something of such worth was just discarded and entertained by how all unfolded! The saying may be “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”, but in this case it’s “one man’s treasure is another man’s trash”! 😆🤭 -

1. We all knew Dolf was gonna get caught since Barnabas had his men watching him. It really was no surprise. As for Clarissa, I think if she hadn’t confessed they wouldn’t have made the breakthrough. It also aligns with her character, she’s scared so it makes sense that she broke easily.
2. Yeah since the police were in Clarissa’s house, and the search was taking forever.
3. I’m not sure if it was worth it for her, but for us readers yes it was. If she hadn’t done what she did we don’t know what would’ve happened to Kassie.
4. Omg! No. I knew it would’ve to be someone we’d already met but Fredericks WAS NOT on my list. I was so shocked.
5. I honestly think it wrapped everything up nicely. We got to see how everything unraveled. Starting with the police involvement with the bribe stuff.
6. One man’s treasure is another man’s trash in this case. When you look at pictures of the lion man you can see how one can just discard it as trash, and not think it’s worth millions or it has significant history.
