Raiders Day Five

Do you think the information provided by Kathy Aldwin will be the turning point for the case?

Barnabas has clearly underestimated Monica. Do you think Monica will be successful in taking out Barnabas and Williams?

While Ernst is not wrong in saying the police are on the heels of Clarissa and Barnabas, how long do you think it will be before Clarissa and Barnabas are on the detectives’ heels?

The blackmailing of Lombard went off without a hitch. Do you think this will be the only easy blackmail? Do you think the others on the list will be much harder to deal with?

In Chapter 48, she mentions that “[s]he knew Arend would consider such a plan to be hopelessly too risky” page 228. Should Monica be more hesitant like Arend in the case of Williams and Barnabas?

Knowing that Dolf and Clarissa have the same escape man, do you think Scott won’t be as confidential as he told Dolf?

What do you think of Kassie’s plan outlined in Chapter 50?

Did you expect Dewald Calitz to be the one to go to the police?

Barnabas has a change in plan when it comes to collecting the blackmail money. How do you think this will affect Dolf?

    – Yes, I do think so because she physically met Edina.
    – She seems like a person that doesn’t give up. If you look back at what happened to her in the hotel, she made sure that everyone was eliminated. I think she will succeed.
    – I don’t think too long but it seems like Barnabas is not too worried which might also indicate that he knows more than he should, which bothers me.
    – It depends what are on the memory sticks. I think some might not care as much and others would do everything so that their dirty secrets don’t come out.
    – Yes, I think she should. I think she is sometimes too hasty, and, in this case, Barnabas seems like the person that has everything under control and doesn’t take chances.
    – At this point I am not sure if Scott knows they are both connected. So, this will be very interesting to see how it plays out.
    – I think it is a good plan, but I am still questioning why they haven’t thought of Edina not having a different name.
    – By the way he introduced himself, he seems like he would revel in the scandal so doesn’t surprise me.
    – He would have to change his plans because it will deter his timeline.

    1. Yes, I think it points them in the right directions (especially with the artefacts and the fact that she could describe Clarissa).
    2. I hope so, I think she is far more capable than Arend would’ve been. She doesn’t bat an eye when it comes to killing witnesses, so I think avenging Arend may be in the cards for her.
    3. I think as soon as they start getting the press involved (and they find out that the twins have been found), they’re going to realise how much of a threat Kassie and Rooi really are.
    4. Probably, I think some of them might be willing to pay, but I think most of them will either call a bluff or Dolf will end up running away with someone’s money, and the scheme will come to a halt.
    5. I definitely think so. I think now that she’s on her own, she needs to think about her entry, escape plans and routes clearly.
    6. I really don’t know. I’m starting to doubt we’ll hear more from doubt as Kassie and Rooi keep uncovering more information.
    7. I think it’s a little risky and could definitely put them and their families in a lot of danger.
    8. Maybe…
    9. Oh, for sure. I think it’ll make it far more difficult for him to obtain the cash and make a clean run for it. He’ll have to come up with another plan.

    1. Yeah I thought it would be. It’s crucial information
    2. I’m rooting for her, but I think they’re dangerous. She’ll be lucky if she does
    3. Not long
    4. Maybe 50/50. Some people don’t really care, the bad rep might be good for business.
    5. She needs proper and careful planning.
    6. I was thinking the same. But then again his job is just to fly people out so maybe he won’t say a word
    7. It’s a good plan
    8. Honestly? No
    9. Negatively. He might not get his hands on the 100K he badly wants but maybe he’ll put something together.

    1. Yes! Finally more connections are being made between Clarissa/Edina and the illegal artefact trade.

    2. I really really hope so. I am rooting for her so much! But I am also so scared for her because Barnabas is ruthless and his hold spans across the underworld. She must be very very careful (and lucky!) to pull this off.

    3. Probably soon! Now that they know about the police, Barnabas won’t hold back on attacking them.

    4. I think they were lucky with Lombard. They might have other easy blackmails, but I don’t think they will all be this easy.

    5. Yes! Arend’s cautiousness was completely unnecessary, especially in the case of dangerous people like Williams and Barnabas.

    6. I don’t trust Scott. He is likely to be loyal to whoever pays the most (which is not unreasonable considering this is the crime world they’re navigating).

    7. It is a risky plan, but they might just pull it off.

    8. No, I did not expect him to. Calitz is quite the unexpected character! But I actually like him, as crazy as he is.

    9. Things just got a bit more complicated for Dolf! Dolf will have to change his own plans or give up the blackmail money.

    1. Yes because she saw her in person.
    2. Go Monica! I really hope she gets it right but Barnabas is very connected and ruthless.
    3. I don’t think it’ll take long which again show how connected Barnabas is and that he’s getting inside info.
    4. Possibly. I think Lombard knew his reputation would be destroyed whereas there are others that won’t care much and will call their bluff.
    5. Yes she should, Barnabas isn’t someone to be trifled with and she should rather be more careful.
    6. It could be risky but that’s only if Scott knows that they’re working toether.
    7. I think it’s a decent plan.
    8. No I didn’t.
    9. Yes it will because he’s bargaining on taking that money and using it to escape.
