At the start of Chapter 64, Monica is willing to take the risk to take out her target. Would you have taken the same risk?
Based on the conversation between Barnabas and Clarissa, do you think Barnabas may be becoming too confident?
In Chapter 66, Kassie and Rooi go over everything they have learnt. Do you think they will be able to solve the case in the next couple of chapters? Or do you think there needs to be more information revealed to them first?
What do you think of the breakthrough regarding Monica in Kassie and Rooi’s perspective?
Where do you think Monica’s silencer went? Do you think someone else picked it up? Do you think this ruins her plans?
Why do you think Kassie throws out all of the sleuthing he did the previous day for one WhatsApp message? Would you have thought the WhatsApp was genuine?
Were you worried for Kassie, Rooi and their protective team during the shootout?
Did you suspect that Dolf would’ve had to take extreme measures against Blum? What do you think of the murder?
Dolf returns to Clarissa and tells her the report is ready. Why do you think he did this?
How do you hope the story will wrap? Which suspects / criminals would you like to see be taken down?

1. I think Monica is a very in the moment type of person and taking risks is part of her. I am more of an observer and would likely first make a plan before acting on it.
2. I think Barnabas has been too confident this whole book through to be honest. Normally the people that think they are untouchable goes down the hardest.
3. It was about time they came to this realization. Everything is falling into place now.
4. I think on her escape it fell out of her bag, and this worries me. If someone does find it, her plans became instantly dangerous because Barnabas will be extra careful.
5. Being a detective I would assume he would have a hunch as to if it was genuine. However, reading the book makes me feel that Kassie and his instincts are not always on par. I am a skeptical person by nature so I would probably not trust it.
6. Oh, my hell yes. I was really worried that one of them might not make it out.
7. I did not but I was very sad that Blum’s fate ended like that. I was so hoping there would be a redeeming factor in Dolf.
8. He needed her out of the house to get into her safe.
9. I am thinking that Barnabas and Clarissa will be caught, and I really hope that Dolf also. I think that Monica might get away. -

1. Honestly no, I’m not a big risk taker but Monica is gutsy for sure.
2. Definitely he comes across as very arrogant and like he’s untouchable.
3. Yes I think they’re finally getting there.
4. I think we were all waiting for that.
5. She probably dropped it somewhere and that could definitely ruin her plans if it ends up in the wrong hands.
6. One would hope that it was genuine or else Kassie comes across as very naive.
7. Yes, that must’ve been so scary!
8. I didn’t see that coming, I’d hoped that Dolf had more of a conscience and would find another way. It was disappointing.
9. It was a diversion so that he could get into the safe.
10. I really hope Barnabas gets what’s coming to him as well as Clarissa and Dolf. As for Monica, I can’t help rooting for her. -

1. Monica is a girl on a mission. If I had to defend my man, nothing would be able to stop me.
2. Oh, for sure. He definitely thinks he knows everything, and now that I’ve finished the book, I totally know why he was so cocky.
3. I really do hope so, because they’re honestly just doing their jobs and they’re really good at what they do. I think if Kassie and Rooi can’t figure everything out and put it all together, nobody can.
4. I honestly didn’t expect them to uncover Monica and her role so quickly but it does make sense now that Arend has been found and she is linked to him.
5. I think she might’ve dropped it somewhere in the scrapyard. I think it could possibly be found and used by someone else, possibly one of Barnabas’s people. I don’t think it’ll affect her too much.
6. I’d be super sceptical. A WhatsApp is a super tricky one because how do you know it’s authentic? I wouldn’t have thrown everything away for just one WhatsApp. Especially considering that everything with the USB bribe for 100k was all communicated on WhatsApp.
7. YES!
8. I didn’t expect murder, maybe hitting him or drugging him.
9. I honestly didn’t know what his angle would be, but as it played out, I thought it was genius.
10. I honestly hope everything works out for Kassie and Rooi and that everyone is aprehended. Even Monica! -

1. No, I am not as brave as Monica 🙈
2. Yes, I believe Barnabas is overconfident and this will one day be his downfall.
3. They do need a bit more information, but they are close to finishing the case soon.
4. I think it is an important breakthrough which is great for Kassie and Rooi, but not so great for Monica.
5. I am hoping it is just lying around somewhere, but with the way these books usually go, it is possible someone might find it. I don’t think it will ruin her plans completely, but she would have to move fast if she doesn’t want to be caught.
6. Following that WhatsApp message without taking further precautions was a reckless move! I understand Kassie’s desire to catch the culprits ASAP, but someone in his position should be more careful. If I was a detective, I would doubt everything.
7. Yes, very worried!
8. I did not think about it, so did not expect it, but it is not surprising that Dolf did what he did. Murder is something Dolf always seemed capable of doing. I never liked him.
9. He is trying to get her out of his way while avoiding making her suspicious.
10. I would love to see Dolf taken down, but I am rooting for Monica’s success! Barnabas also deserves to be taken down, but not by the police. I want Monica to get him, so she can enact her own justice – even if that justice is a crime. If the police catch Barnabas, he will get off too easily. He did vile, cruel things that no prison sentence can atone him for. Besides, with all his connections I doubt any prison would hold him long.

1. No I wouldn’t
2. Yes!! He was becoming too confident, but it made sense why he was in the end.
3. Nah. The info they had was enough to bring barnabas and them down.
4. It was about time. They’d been on the case for a long time.
5. No, I don’t think someone has it. She just lost it.
6. Nah I knew it was fake. It was too good to be true.
7. So worried. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time
8. I didn’t think he’d go that far. I guess the murder was necessary since Blum didn’t want to hand over the report, so Dolf just saw him as an obstacle in his path.
9. So she can get out of the house
10. I wanted everyone to go down.
