1. I was unpleasantly surprised when Parker bought the bracelet. It’s sweet that he was trying to win her happiness, but it also felt like he was buying her affection – or at least trying.
2. Honestly, no. The whole date at the auction house was a disaster! Neither of them were at their best and the unease just created unnecessary tension.
3. Elle’s reaction to the “replacement” of her mother’s necklace was grossly unfair and immature. I really didn’t like her as a person in that moment. Her mother’s necklace and the sentiment behind it are obviously priceless to her, but the necklace was not destroyed in any way.
4. The whole “buy everything she likes” was a bit cringe for me. I get it – Parker does not have to think about making large, spontaneous purchases, but it was a bit much. I can’t articulate my discomfort and loathing for it (even Elle’s protestations are not helpful).
5. At this point in our relationship, Elle’s reactions to Parker’s wealth are hypocritical and quite forced. He is not a moustache-twirling villain hell-bent on world domination. He is just a guy – and not a selfish one, either.
6. I knew Parker wouldn’t forget her! The backstory of that night was quite welcome. All we had until then was Elle’s mock-hatred and creative recollection.
7. Since Elle is finally opening up emotionally, albeit unintentionally, I do think they are in a good space to notice (and discuss) their growing attachment. It probably won’t be easy or straightforward, but we are heading in the right direction.
8. I am not too surprised that the awkwardness was dispensed with that quickly. This relationship is on Elle’s terms – she decides when to approach him, when to get angry and how long that should last, apparently,
9. After the jewellery predicament, Elle’s reaction is ugly. First she insinuates that he did it for publicity. When that doesn’t wound him enough, she shoots him down. When he accepts her refusal of “anything more”, she’s the one who gets upset! I literally rolled my eyes at this scene. “You can’t buy me” seems to be her catchphrase, like a broken toy. She uses it whether it’s applicable to the situation or not. I don’t think Parker is trying to buy her. I don’t even get the sense that he thinks she’s for sale.
10. I thought it was sweet that he brings a bunch of scripts to watch movies, just because she mentioned it once. He made a real effort to be conciliatory.
11. I have it on good authority that the best pizza is homemade. I can’t stand the big chain pizzas.
12. Hypothetically, I would NOT spend my first big paycheck. I would rather invest it.
13. I could never! Too much walking and too much pizza. The whole search works as a montage in a movie, but the logistics are terrible! Too. much. Pizza

I literally slapped my hand to my mouth and needed a minute to process that swoon worthy gesture. The fact that he bought it for her just because he noticed, she was smiling at one of the pieces like staph. I’m a puddle on the floor. Its literally not even about the expensive item and his money. Its about the gesture behind it all and the fact that he pays attention and would do anything for her smile.
Honestly I think that was an unnecessary purchase but I can appreciate his sentiments and thoughts behind it. Still believe it was a purchase that didn’t have to be made tho.
I think Elle was looking too much into things with that. Parker probably has gift giving as one of his love languages hence all this, you can tell he doesn’t mean it from a bad or cocky place. He genuinely loves to spoil her. Though the necklace was excessive but Elle is just being dramatic about it all.
Getting the earrings that she smiled at was a top tier move. I love that he did! Coz the earrings meant something deeper to her when she first saw them.
I can appreciate Elle’s morals and her not caring about his money coz I’m the same but she keeps pushing that false narrative onto Parker when its so evident to anyone that he isn’t some money-pants jerk thinking she’s “for sale.” Elle overreacted to put it plainly. She’s been spending so much of time with him, she ought to realize the kind of person Parker is by now like cmon! He is most definitely not an arrogant cocky jerk that throws his wealth around and he so obviously cares about her to the point that she consumes his every thought. When the whole scone debacle arose in the previous chapter. I knew Parker would save the day for Elle but I expected him like speaking to the owner and sorting out an arrangement to bring it back not that he would buy the entire chain. His intentions were pure tho and came from a good place yet again. He means no harm.
Parker is a total sweetheart, he pulls out all the stops and is a total gentleman. He doesn’t hesitate to apologize. Elle needs to do the same about her part in the fight… oop

Depends, I believe if you’re with the right person you’d be comfortable doing things out of ur comfort zone much like Elle when she’s with Parker.
I think social media definitely helps with the recognition and promotions. Plus its a big plus having an already established reader base,it gives that boost to authors no doubt about that. It’s important to have it but not compulsory as I think you could also make it as an author without one. Social media isn’t the only way you know? Might take longer without it but again, all depends

Parker just wants to make Elle happy and saw an opportunity to do so. He needed to “diversify his portfolio” so I see why he bought it – I also suspected this would happen based on progressing the plot. Should he have told Elle he was going to would be the better question. I don’t think it was true that the necklace was replacing her mom’s one but you can understand the kid logic especially under a high pressure environment and she wasn’t expecting that. I also think it’s Elle – who’d been thinking a lot about her mom – wondering how badly her mom would judge her for all of this.
Again, Parker was just trying to make Elle happy and the earrings did that. I think it was a sweet gesture however, an expensive one I wouldn’t be comfortable with.

From what we’ve seen, yes it’s true that an author needs to be on socials to promote their book and get it out there. Even authors who remain anonymous have social media, you even get some who get others to run their accounts for them – but they need to have an online presence. And readers – myself included – love when authors engage with them.

I thought it was unbelievably romantic. I mean, the fact that he bought it for her just because he caught her smiling at it? (and she wasn’t even looking at it!). It wasn’t about money for him in that moment— it was the way he notices the little things and would move mountains just to see her happy.2. Should Parker have bought the $50-million necklace?
Probably not, but I can still respect the thought behind it. Even if it wasn’t necessary, his heart was definitely in the right place.3. Was Elle right to feel like the expensive necklace replaced her mom’s?
I feel like Elle’s reading way too deeply into this. Parker’s clearly someone whose way of expressing love is through gifts, and it’s obvious he’s not doing it to show off or control her. I want to cringe for him. He was trying to this romantic thing only to choose the wrong piece and one she felt was hideous.
He says he bought it as an investment, so for him it was the right choice. To put around Elles neck to show off may not have been the right choice after the way she reacted.
Yes for her it was, her mom’s necklace to her is priceless as it’s tied to emotion. There was no emotion for her I a 50 million dollar necklace.

1. I laughed at little because he bought the wrong thing but it was just so precious that he wanted to get her something that made her smile.
2. I don’t understand why he bought it to be honest. Like did he want to make a statement about how much he valued his relationship with Elle? If so, it seems kind of superficial. Words have more meaning than overpriced jewellery.
3. Whilst it wasn’t the intention, I understand why she felt that way. Given her reservations when it comes to money, it felt like Parker was trying to buy her affection and overshadow her mother’s. It really made her feel like her mother’s meant less because it was worth less. I do think she reacted a little dramatically though…because it was not destroyed or harmed in anyway.
4. Again, he had good intentions of making her happy, but he had already bought the bracelet so it felt like a lot…really sweet but overwhelming. I didn’t like that he continued to buy things for her even though she was clearly uncomfortable by it.
5. Something is causing her to react the way she is, but given what we know, it seems unjustified. I kind of feel bad for Parker because his wealth often gets in the way of him being able to form authentic connections. People either want to use him or in Elle’s case, think he’s too rich.

A: I’m not all that surprised considering his latest streak. No I think she was too harsh on him. He does all of these over the top gestures to see her smile and she feels a type of way about it but at the end of the day he’s not doing it to buy her.
