    1. Yes. It caught me off guard, but it makes sense.

    2. Bold, but very Keil. It feels half real and half a distraction, like he’s testing her and the room at the same time.

    3. It felt genuine. Even when he pulls away, he’s still watching out for her.

    4. The King sees Keil as a threat, and by poisoning him, I feel he tried to keep his hands clean, but get rid of the problem.

    5. Something linked to protecting Wielders, possibly freeing someone or helping her later on.

    6. It seems very likely. Too many hints line up for it to be a coincidence.

    7. They’re hopeful but heavy wishes. Her wishes aren’t selfish.

    8. Yes. It feels like a warning of what happens when you step out of line.

    9. It is surprising, but it raises the stakes.

    10. She’s preparing for escape or betrayal. For me, it shows that she doesn’t fully trust the court either.

    11. I think she suspects something. Carmen seems too observant to miss the signs.

No I knew he was going to be of significance in this story

I think it’s cute, he’s clearly attracted to her so why not

    He’s concerned about her

The king wants to take over the ambassadors land I think or he wants to prove a point

She’s hoping he will help her and return a favour later on

    Yes

    It’s reasonable

    Absolutely

I was very surprised but kept me on the edge of my seat

    She’s hiding a secret

I think Carmen is suspicious and doesn’t want to show all her cards yet but she knows somethings up

    1) I was not surprised. I had a feeling it would be him. There was no way they had that much chemistry only for their paths to never cross again.

    2) I think he enjoys the risk of it, from what I’ve seen of his character, he enjoys playing with fire.

3)I think it shows how caring he is, and the kind of man he is. He still thinks about Alissa being hurt even though he’s in a tough situation

    4) I think he was trying to assert dominance, to let Keil know him being allowed in the palace is a favour and he needs to remember his place.

    5) I think she wants to know more about Ansora and her abilities. He is the only person she knows who is comfortable with his abilities.

    6) At the time, this thought did not cross my mind.

    7) I found it so interesting that the king probably thought it was something romantic but she was actually wishing for his downfall. I understand her wishes, she has to smile at the man she hates most, wishing was the most hopeful thing she could do at that time.

    8) Yes. It is very clear what happens to people who sympathize with Weilders and I think Alissa’s kingdom may get it the worst because of her position at court and her basically “deceiving” the king this whole time.

9)I was so surprised! I wasn’t sure if this meant Carmen was an enemy or if there was more at play.

    10) I think she knows more than she pretends to and she has plans to dethrone her cousin

11)I think Carmen definitely suspects something. Her seeing the feather definitely put her on high alert.

    1) Yes and no – I knew Keil would be someone important, but I didn’t think it would be ambassador (but I did kind of hope)!

    2) Risky business! But it seems like it is just in his nature to be flirtatious – I think this also brings up the chemistry they had in the previous chapter – and the banter.

    3) He is showing that he does have some sort of affection toward Alissa – be it friendship or more, who knows.

    4) He wants to find out if Keil is actually a wielder – which everyone is actually sceptical about (i.e. why would they send a wielder to a country where they are Hunted) and also to provoke him so he loses his diplomatic immunity perhaps.

    5) Maybe something to do with the compass.

    6) I think they are perhaps very close to the empress – or higher in her court than the usual players.

    7) I think this very much shows exactly what her intentions are and there is no way to change her m ind.

    8) I think it is perhaps more a warning than a foreshadowing.

    9) I don’t like the fact that it links to her – I honestly felt she was a good character. someone to trust.

    10) Maybe she is with the copycats? ( I hope not) Some way to send secret messages.

    11) Carmen is very smart and observant, I am sure she figured out that (at the very least) Alissa was in her room.
